Dont be hasty study the market and confirm some valid point that this is really the dip. But for me there is no real dip cause no oen can actually anticipate the possible scenario of market. Some thought bought the dip but there is another leg down until a real dip arrived. But you only called that dip when it go down until your entry, or worse way over that entry. As long as it can recover after then its safe and your investment is still good.

Buy what you feel is good. During the dips and crashes, this is actually the best time for everyone to buy. Do not wait until it finally recovers because it will surely do and you only have to be first than everyone else. Do not be too worried about it if it will recover because it has been many times that it had recovered after crashes, actually, this drop isn't severe as the past crashes that we've experienced. So the dip for bitcoin was $40k and it has now recovered for a while and now is on $42k and likely to be back at $43k anytime soon.

It is a good time to buy altcoin because you can check at the market.
Many altcoins have been down for a while and bitcoin is also still at a low price.
If you want to buy, make sure doing analyze first and select only the coin from the top 100 coin lists as those coins will have a chance to increase later.
The downtrend is still going on without knowing when it will end, so I suggest you not use too big money to buy as we do not know if the price will be back to the high price in the next hours or it will still go down.

I would wait for todays FED meeting and see what they come up with, which will for sure reflect into crypto as well. There has been a lot of FUD lately, especially regarding Chinese real-estate bubble with Evergrande going down.

For alts, you'd probably need to wait for another altcoin season which don't come too often.. and the chances of alts outrunning BTC's bull runs are almost always inexistent. I appreciate this opportunity to make the most of a better shopping.  The fact that bitcoin signaled strong support at $40k yesterday, some short term HODler has accepted sell loss in this FUD, the market is still negative with Evergrande and there is a big calm waiting Fed statement. Buy some cumulative dip is the scheme I take advantage for in bitcoin.  Only when bitcoin's line recovery crosses the 200 daily MA will the altcoin's price perform well.  You can wait a little longer, but not sure if that's a good move.

There is no such thing as a perfect answer if it's a good time to buy or not. Anything could happen. Either it could dip even more or it could go higher. The cryptocurrency market is unpredictable, so we always manage our risks very well and only invest and trade an amount that we can afford to lose.
