Hello,

Can anyone guide me if Geforce RTX3060 Battle AX DUO 12 GB LHR Graphics card is good for mining altcoins?

How much has rate one can expect to mine ETH?

and lastly, it's currently available for $900? Is it good price, considering the shortage of graphics card or shall I wait for some time?

Thanks in advance.

Nvidia as far as I know have limited all 3060 to be LHR so even if you don't get a LHR it is still a LHR.There are workarounds for non LHR cards to bring them back to perform as intended full power at 49 Mhsh.

Now back to your point that price is really high as where I am located now I can buy one new of the old generation at 629 USD as people don't like them here.Still I am not convinced to buy it despite this price as it doesn't perform that well for me.It is a waste of money to buy such card for 900 USD and I think with that price you can get a  Gtx 1080 ti which will do 42-45 Mhsh in Ethereum or 51-55 Mhsh in Ethereum Classic while having some money left, possibly you can save at least 200 USD or even 300 USD in the best case scenario.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR
https://whattomine.com/gpus/65-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-lhr?cost=0.1
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Unlocked
https://whattomine.com/gpus/60-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-unlocked?cost=0.1

Look at the growth of the Ethereum hash rate. It's probably easier to mine altcoins now.
I would buy if the cost of electricity is no more than 10 cents per kilowatt

Thanks everyone for your valuable advice. It will help me to take decision.

Most of the 6GB / 8GB graphic cards here are selling at very high premium rates. So, I short-listed this one. I think instead of mining Bitcoin, it will be better to mine some altcoins for few months like RavenCoin, VertCoin etc.  Still, will go through forum to learn more.

Any other suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Used card rx5000/vega should be ok if the price decent, vega take the 64 series, or reference card for 56 series, the reference is better board quality than AIB version, rx5000 otherwise

All the advantages of Vega 56/64 will end after the end of the Ethereum mining.
Before buying, you can make a simple calculation, and the result will be such that video cards pay off in 10-14 months in the current situation. Therefore, it is better to buy a new video card with a guarantee than an old video card that has been mining for 3-4 years.
