Finally, another country, namely Romania, launched a Vaccination Lottery for the public. It is hoped that this will encourage people to participate in the Romanian government's vaccination program. The amount provided by the Romanian government is RON15,000,000 ($3.5m).

The target of Romania was absolutely good but my question is that why lottery? because, isn't that some of the people who will participated in it will do that only because of the lottery not for the government's vaccination program, just a thought only. Not saying I am against with their objective. Just asking and wanna know the truth.

Several countries are doing the same thing and attracting their citizens to participate in the Covid-19 vaccination, and in the country where I live there are various ways in some areas to get their citizens interested in being vaccinated and the lure of getting doofrize, money, basic necessities and so on.
and the way this initiative works is very effective because it can attract those who are afraid and don't want to be vaccinated for some reason change their mind, and whatever the reason is because of gifts or money, the important thing is that they are vaccinated for their health and to return to normal life.

How good to offer this , in some countries specially in Asian countries in which giving groceries but this gives them tickets to choose what they want to buy in groceries .

Since most of the non-vaccinated seem to be now in the rural areas, with lower income, this is quite something.

The problem with vaccination is that lots of fake information are being spread all around the media which creates a bias among these anti-vaxxers. Though calling them 'stupid' is far fetched, the right term for them is that they are badly 'misinformed' about the efficacy and effectivity of vaccines.

Since the government cannot compel its citizens to get vaccinated, it may, however, and in the interest of the general welfare, provide incentives for people who are vaccinated. In addition, the government can also impose strict mandates that relatively limit the movement of people who are unvaccinated that would somehow compel the latter to get vaccinated.

This is one of those news that the government provides incentive for people who are vaccinated and I hope countries would pattern this example out.

Rich countries or first world countries that can avail of vaccines first can do that kind of lottery but not for poor countries where people are dying because they cannot get vaccinated because of the priority list, there are people dying because they are unvaccinated and they are coming from poor countries, rich countries are on their second or third dose but in a poor country majority are still lining up.

For people who dont have much, this is a good offer already because they will get something in return. Thus, the idea of having a chance to win in lottery can really encourage the citizen to get vaccinated.

We know some people are still hesitant to get themselves vaccinated because of their worries on side effects that might occur and the fear of how safe it is. But the government of Romania is doing what they can to encourage their citizen. This is the answer to change their mind and comply because its for their own safety while having an incentives for doing it.

I think if our country will do the same, many people might bite the offer, but I doubt they will come up with this kind of idea.

I only wish those people who win the lottery can receive the money as its promise. It should attract attention from people to vaccinated without thinking about the lottery because that will be for their health and prevent the virus. If they win, that will be good because they can fill their needs with that money. This is clearly the better choice in dealing with the crowd. In my country (Russia), similar lotteries were also held, but not at the federal level, but at the city level. Although now I googled and found federal programs - literally on September 15, the first 500 winners of 100 thousand rubles each (about $ 1400) were identified.
My attitude to such events is sharply negative - after all the pressure and attempts to discriminate against unvaccinated people, these actions look like an attempt to lure the victim into a trap.

If the country I currently reside in will launch a vaccination Lottery for the public just like Romania and Poland, there are folks who wouldn't mind getting their whole clan to the vaccination center to increase their odds of winning the lottery. Damn, things are not easy for both the middle class and lower class folks with the ever rising food prices with no food subsidy, ever worsening security challenges and the obvious apathy from the government. Although i am not in favor of lottery system but as long as people are encouraged to get vaccinated, it is ok to give them hope to earn via lottery.
Apart from this, awareness session should be given on media and people must be told the benefits of getting vaccinated.

Why would it encourage people? To me it is quite lame. Even mathematically it is quite stupid. Why don't they just 35000 people $100 instead? This way they could have helped more people. Now there will be only one lucky guy and that's if they don't cheat.

Can you blame the people about this?
People have now seen that doing certain things is to do favour to government for them to embezzle money and see means to hide the money lying with expenses done with covid-19. There is no trust  in government anymore because of bad history created in government so that has led to untrust in the systems. There are many stories about covid-19 and vaccine so people are still doubting things around covid-19 that makes for government to introduce lottery but it is funny though. Where trust is lost, is hard to regain it.

Focusing more on informational drive to bring deeper knowledge into the people, though if the government seen that by doing this kind of promotions, more people will have good interest. We can deny that fact that people are very lost right now. Most are at the point that they will do everything just to survive. Lottery may give them some hope and, aside from protecting themselves from the virus, the chance also to win for a good amount of money will bring them closer to being vaccinated.

I definitely get it that it's not done for a malicious purpose. It's done in an effort to increase vaccinations and avoid further lockdowns, which have detrimental effects in both the community and economy of the country. I believe that there were better methods in promoting vaccinations, but whatever floats their boat.

Social media are full of fake news, and educating people might take more time so the government have to think for a faster way and an effective way to encourage people from getting their vaccines, and I see this kind of promotion as a good one. Vaccine is not just for ourselves but also for people around us, get your vaccine now and have a chance to win some of the prizes.
