It seems, in the USA, the interest in using crypto as a legal payment already increases as a poll already surveyed voters from California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. That poll got a result of 28 percent in Arizona to 37 percent in both Texas and Wisconsin, voters said they would vote 'yes' to a ballot measure that would make cryptocurrency legal in the next election. That's quite a higher percentage to see if the voters are already aware of crypto and are interested in using crypto for the payment. What is your opinion about this? Does this lead the USA, as a giant country, to become crypto-friendly in the next year? It should be said that for the United States, there has never been an obvious hostility or opposition to cryptocurrencies like China. As far as I know, the number of U.S. merchants that support Bitcoin payments continues to increase. This will be a trend in the future, and merchants that support Bitcoin payments will earn more profits.

Biden have shown a little hostile takeover in terms of Bitcoins. But even though the news might not be good, we have still not seen much happening legally in the US..I do think that it would eventually depend on people, how the people decide to Handle the situation. They have to ask the government for their rights, they have to prioritize how they are able to set the whole thing up. In the US we can see coffee shops, normal shops accepting the payments perse in Bitcoins and therefore that does mean people are not only open but also interested in the same. -After the voting people would have a backup, they would have s strong support system in place and I do think that would help the government to see that these people are sure of what they want. -hopefully the poll works well and they are able to present positive arguments for the same. They have to use this poll as a strong point, as a strong hold to present their requirements. Plus it's time for the government to show that their country is indeed based upon the *freedom* as they say. -The politicians will also use this to attract people towards them for the next elections, we have to also take careful measures regarding that since there is a difference between who would use Bitcoins as a hurdle and who would genuinely work towards integrating it more closely with the US economics.

They'd be left with no choice if Bitcoin starts being adopted in smaller countries. USA being left out means losing money over the long term.

But lets just see if this adoption will happen on their country since I'm sure many wait that they will announce the said adoption to come to them since they are the country who's been look for by other small so if this events will truly happen we can see bitcoin fame rise up more.

At the end of the day, this poll would prolly count for little or nothing as it is the government that would make the decision after looking at what their benefits will be, and what it will mean for the economy. BTW, crypto isn't illegal in the U.S., but I strongly doubt the government would be considering making it a legal tender when they already have plans in motion to launch their own digital currency. What is your opinion about this? Does this lead the USA, as a giant country, to become crypto-friendly in the next year?
AFAIK, the United States isn't crypto-unfriendly, but there are some decisions I don't think they will take in favor of crypto, if the U.S. for example makes Bitcoin a legal tender, that is indeed a big statement that would prolly take Bitcoin pretty much close to the next level (mainstream adoption), but the government would be reluctant to take this decision about a network they can't control, they would rather promote their CBDC.

Does this lead the USA, as a giant country, to become crypto-friendly in the next year?
No, not at all. This was just a poll, and while the numbers are probably higher than they would have been about 5 years ago, they're still quite low. And again, this wasn't the government expressing interest in accepting bitcoin for things like taxes and other government-related payments; it was a Newsweek poll, which carries no weight in the eyes of the US government. The US is already crypto-friendly. Maybe not as far as the government is concerned, but its citizens sure have a lot of interest in it and there are many US businesses that already accept bitcoin. That's as good as it's going to get for now. And personally, I wouldn't want to pay my taxes with bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. That would give them a full view of my crypto transactions, and the government already has too much surveillance going on. I would have voted against this had I been polled.

Despite what many think, the US has been far more crypto-friendly than most countries. You can run any number you want and you will see them coming on top, of course, if we ignore that fake volume exchanges are claiming with trillions of users from Rwanda and Tuvalu. The funny part: When asked about other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Tether or Doge, more than 60 percent of voters across all 10 states said they had never heard of the digital currencies before. And some people really think that outside the world of crypto kitties anybody gives a damn about those altcoins. I wonder why they haven't published the results or given a link to the poll, there is so much data I'm curious about, especially the difference between Texas and California. Also, it's pretty hard to understand those results : The poll, found that between 28% and 37% of voters—from Arizona and both Texas and Wisconsin respectively—would vote “yes” to a ballot that would make cryptocurrency legal. Arizona reported the most opposition to the policy, with 40% of voters against. It would be really nice to see the undecided and the against factions by state.

Not entirely like China because the US is trying hard to regulate the market. SEC Gensler twisted his terms and whatever he had said in the past about cruptocurrencies as securities but its message contains the same as to try to regulate the cryptocurrency and not banning like China. The example of cities like Miami or Wyoming in the US are starting to use crypto and others will follow too as these are the promises of the politicians today in order to win.

Source: https://www.newsweek.com/exclusive-about-third-swing-state-voters-want-crypto-legal-payment-their-state-1630387Between how the poll is presented and how to voters interpret the poll there is a lot of room for misunderstanding. The strange thing is, Bitcoin is not in any way illegal in the USA and can be accepted by any business that wants to deal with the related financial "paperwork". Monetary policy is not set at a state level so this will have zero impact on how the US government operates, despite your assertion that this could be voted on at the state level. The US has one currency, which is the US dollar and that happens to be the reserve currency of the world - offering it a very privileged ability. No sane government in America, even with the antics we saw with the past president, would allow that to be diluted or fragmented by accepting a cryptocurrency they have no control over to become an official currency. These poll results are meaningless and actually show only a small minority want this.

What is clear in this recent case, the US must be able to compete in the crypto industry if they do not want to be displaced by China. Because if the US actually bans their crypto, it's the same as being far behind in the digital economy. One of the best ways is that the US must immediately contradict where China blocks crypto, then the US must adopt more massive cryptocurrencies again.

No matter what their voters think, I don't see this happening because of a simple reason - the dollar dominance! US will never take any such step which will reduce the importance of dollar bills within their own jurisdiction. They might provide some relief and possibly allow merchants to legally accept cryptos but they wouldn't allow crypto payments into anything related to government. If this happens, I will be shocked! There are smaller countries who have already started process to reduce their dependency on US dollars. So bitcoin is officially challenging the dollar dominance already.

No matter what's the result of this poll. This can make some emotional effects and some effect is the atmosphere of people how to like and don't like bitcoin, But I believe the government will not accept such a thing because many of them are dollar hardliners and they want USD to be used more than any currency. Surely, they know the benefits of bitcoin but they don't want bitcoin to be the competitor of the dollar however in the other countries where they don't have strong fiat, such as El Salvador this may work.

Well I can't remember or know of any of anytime US has made any negative statement about bitcoin or its progress that means from time ago US has supported and allowed bitcoin operation and transaction smoothly. This news about making enactment on it is more as to formally support it. This is good because it will allow for payment systems to officially include bitcoin and some recognized cryptocurrency as options .

This will not become a serious thing at all. The only power USA has right now is the amount of USD is dealt overseas. I am not even talking about USA and another country dealing with each other, which is awesome for USA because they convince other nations to take their money and receive a product in return, China owns so much USD treasury as well.
However what I am talking about is that there are so many companies who are not from USA and still deal in USD, like Nigeria and ivory coast companies dealing with each other in USD, that is the power of USD. If they somehow make that change, and if they do some digital currency as legal payment then it would drop the power of USD and that is something USA can't deal with. Which is why this is just a wishful thinking by some people and even if the poll shows 90% they could still not do something about it.

US may want to put regulations on crypto but it doesn't resort to what China had to do like totally banning crypto transactions. As of now, USA is still leading in terms of bitcoin trading. The road to crypto becoming legal payment may not be smooth but at least they are more open minded when it comes to new developments in technology.

i doubt the US would make bitcoin legal now or next year, they still don't need to at least that and in the eyes of the politicians who make the laws. but that doesn't change the fact that in the US there have many bitcoins ATM and places that accept bitcoin as a means of payment. there are places that don't even have at least 1 bitcoin ATM, I'm talking about my country.
