Don't be fooled by stardom of these celebrities and athletes. Most of them are in it for the trend and the money. There are a lot of NBA stars tweeting about Dogecoin when Elon was happily messing around but look where it is now? I am not a fan of Fansclub token but they have exclusive market so I guess you can say it has a "use case".

Lack of utility, these fans token must be exist to be a payment for the merchandise of the club. I will not call that as a bad move nor good move but this can be used only to show if crypto can also be adopted in the sport field. it's not having limitation on the financial and economic field but crypto can be useful in another field as well but these tokens just like security tokens.
Just because celebrities were talking about that didn't mean those fan tokens were good. Messi was only getting paid some of its salary in PSG token. It's not a big thing.

Their fame is getting used by the big whales to promote the projects so that they can dump when market starts to become bullish. By the way sports persons are also humans so there is no surprise at all even if they genuinely started to invest on cryptos.

They are trying to sell you this token, and what better way to advertise it than to have one of your star players receive it as a 'salary'? This adoption was a common thing. Adoption of crypto by celebrities and sport clubs didn't give massive impact to te crypto. As predicted by so many people if this gonna be a short term adoption for sure.

Since Bitcoin and Dogecoin don't have a central authority or are being handled by a group of individuals or acting as a business, we can fairly say that there's no such thing as they are doing some hype on that certain coin.

Not familiar with the sports stars you have mentioned but if they are promoting a crypto-company, then we can look at the reason why they are into crypto.

But generally, it's not even surprising that a famous individual will use crypto. It's common already nowadays that there are people on that status lurking in crypto.

There are a lot of sport personalities into crypto as of late, maybe because of the hype. I still remember Bucks Giannis, when someone ask him where he get his money, he said, "Bitcoin".

I think it's good though, nothing wrong with them getting their salary on crypto or investing some part of their money on it. For sure they have realised that crypto is the best investment, although there are big risk, but it's a win-win situation for them. Maybe in the next 5 years we will see majority of athletes asking their salary to be paid in crypto.

There’s a two scenario here, first they are being paid to make such statements and second they are really interested to invest or they own already, we really don’t know but one thing is for sure the adoption is growing and sooner or later many companies will start to adopt as well not just the celebrities.

I see this huge popularity around crypto, so there is nothing surprising that celebrities get involved in it as well. I know many examples how different sportsmen, singers and actors use NFTs to tokenize some of their achievements and then see them. So it is a new a space for creative people.
