I don't understand people who set Ask bids right near the bid wall. You can sell into it if you want, lose couple of cents, but setting Ask walls? What for, to see the price run through you if the Bid wall does not fall? Pretty stupid trading here.

No kidding.  What those fools should have done was sell into the bidwall and hope their selling caused other people to do the same thing.  This is so fun to watch.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

so here's one use for the wall... how to buy many bitcoins without pushing the price too high - set the wall, wait for the asks to accumulate near it, buy them all out, wait several hours for the wounds to heal and price climb back to your wall, repeat.

Similarly, whenever a bunch of people short, does Bitcoinica buy on Mt Gox?

Wow, even I'm impressed right now at how weak hands just got played big time.  That was ~10,000BTC in a single buy.

Funny how you recommended to cash out if you bought in below $2.90 in another thread..

Why is this wall not dead yet?!  The Manipulator seems to be serious about this!

In a way this is ridiculously cool, how often to you get to see an entire market bounced off a bid wall! I really hope that bitcoin data is analysed in some way for the strange and crazy behavior you wouldn't get on any other regulated market.

And it's gone.

Looks like it wasn't pulled, it was bought down, almost topping the previous largest sell ever.

Did someone pay attention when it happened? Should have been around 11:54:13.
Did the wall vanish, then a huge selloff?
Or did the wall actually got bought away?
The wall was 35k heavy. Volume at that time was around 46k. So it seems obvious someone else walked right through the wall?

Damn, now I'm curious what will happen!

Yeah, the wall was eaten alive. It wasn't taken down.
I wasn't watching it at the time, because mtgoxlive was (and still kinda is) playing up.
We'll be sailing back down to $2.60 now I would imagine.

Transaction volume went down from 4 million to 3 million. I suspect that they are sitting at the exchanges and have not been withdrawn. It's likely that some profit taking was done. Bitcoin is still in the speculation stage. We need useful apps before Bitcoin will reverse this flush.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
I've been watching prices the entire day.  RIGHT WHEN I GO AWAY FOR HALF AN HOUR IT BREAKS THE WALL
I would've shorted at 5:1 or 10:1 if that happened on my watch.
Again, FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
