If you mean the avatar campaign, well, it takes a full member and above rank to get able to join probably because it wears an avatar. While on the otherhand, AFAIK only foxpop decides who can join.

Well, it can't be an actual merit cycling club, because that would be against the bitcointalk.org rules that were set in place long ago and that would not be allowed here.

It also can't be trolling, because that would be against the no trolling rules that the administration has been tasked with enforcing and therefore would also not be allowed here.

So in short, your guess is as good as mine.  I can't think of any legitimate reason for a merit cycling club to exist, so the mystery of why it exists and what it set out to accomplish remains without so much as a possible explanation.  It does give people a talking point, which means more posts like this one, more forum views, and more campaign money flowing to those of us spouting nonsense for bits.  So I guess that makes it a good thing.

I think Foxpup will only let people who have tons of merit "join" the "club" (in the top x in terms of merit received). All that is involved is that those who are members are paid to wear an avatar. I am fairly confident no actual merit is exchange.

TBH, the "club" is an example of someone who has way more money than they know what to do with, that gets spent trolling someone who in all likelihood has left the forum.

It cycles merit obviously. Merit is meant to be cycled BTW, so nothing sinister is going on despite some salty individuals trying to imply otherwise. You don't need to join it, everybody is a member by default.

It's purely an in-joke about how certain high-ranking users are often falsely accused (usually by shitposters) of sending merits exclusively to each other and not other users (such as said shitposters). Pay it no attention.

(There are also accusations of sexual impropriety, but those accusations aren't always false. )

This forum is an example of meritocracy, in case you haven't noticed.  We haven't used the WD-40 in a while and have moved on to more....sensual lubricants.  Our building is a fine brick structure with a black door and without windows.  The password for entrance is only given out to a chosen few.

The details about the camping are already described by Foxpup.  So hope you got an idea of what is merit cycling camping. We aren't out of merit cycling team, it does not matter we are not wearing the avatar, because we are involved in some other camping. So we have no opportunity to wear avatars.  But those are wearing that most probably I think they are getting paid from the Foxpup. I don't know the amount but I think they are getting something. So if you or anyone want to run camping like this you can build your own merit cycling club and yes, of course, we'll cycle merits since we are doing that as well as from the beginning. If you want to join wear avatar, then definitely you have to ask Foxpup.

The whole thing is actually to cover up the fact that Foxpup is the evil mastermind behind BiG pHaRmA and may or may not be directly responsible for COVID, which was actually just an elaborate ploy to make all the cycling club members isolate together in a single room for an extended period of time.
