Do you think Bitcoin will be added to the VIX? If you don't know here is an overview of the VIX:

"The VIX Index is a calculation designed to produce a measure of constant, 30-day expected volatility of the U.S. stock market, derived from real-time, mid-quote prices of S&P 500® Index (SPX℠) call and put options. On a global basis, it is one of the most recognized measures of volatility -- widely reported by financial media and closely followed by a variety of market participants as a daily market indicator."

Bitcoin was first traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and seemed for a period of time to trade in tandem with general US/Foreign Stocks as if Stocks went up then BTC went up if stocks were down so was BTC. Before it was added I think people speculated that BTC was trading in tandem with gold. Anyway fast forward to 2021, and BTC is up stocks are down. The government is adding more trillion dollar stimulus while raising the debt ceiling once again. So that begs the question will BTC become an indicator or volatility in the markets? Or is it a just an asset in its own class? Your thoughts BitcoinTalk Community.

The VIX is an index of options that measure the expected volatility of the S&P 500 index. The VIX does not measure any individual stock price or even the options price of any individual stock.
