There are some stablecoin in the market and also performing well though the highest transaction is still done by tron network using USDT.

Because tron is cheaper than Erc20 and BSC. That's why people are turning to USDT in tron network because they're saving a lot of fees.

Now the point it, simply, you can switch to use another stablecoin which you feel safe and better.

There's dai that makes other safer than USDT despite having a lot of network protocol because it's still centralized unlike the first one that has been mentioned.

Best is that never entrust your coins longer than the necessary meaning you will Only put your funds in USDT when there is a need to keep safe for a while but never take it permanently as holding.
Bitcoin and other coins is the best as the value will grow while USDT stays as is forever.

Is it possible that the USDT token is a scam, if the news is true, then why is this token still on the market until now?  In my opinion, this could be just a trick from them, who deliberately spread FUD news in the hope that the price will decrease, so that they can buy it at a very cheap price, and they will be able to keep it, and sell it when the USDT price increases.

Remember that scammers sometimes took long time before revealing their main intention .

Calling people behind USDT scammer is a bit far stretched. I think their business is unsustainable, set up to fail when everyone demands their USDT exchange to USD, no way they will be able to fullill all of it since even for a normal company, they don't keep fiat at their hand all time. It will be assets and such and need more time to fulfill the liquidity to USD while people start losing their hope and USDT real value will crash, no more 1 USDT for 1 USD. The OP should have provided the link to  source of the news to authenticate it, as far as USDT is concerned I don't think it has any trust issue, it has been my choice in trading whenever I sell at time I changed my cryptos to a stable coin mostly USDT and I had never have any issue with it, presently I have some USDT on my binance wallet which had hodl for quite a long time and very stable in price with when compared with other cryptocurrencies j
