bitcoin already reached 64k this year so what more another 36k dollar in the following months?

Time, we have time until march 2022 compared to what we have left in 2021. That could be the reason why people imagine that it would be harder to do 100k this year. I believe that there is a good chance we could see crypto reaching to new highs, not just bitcoin but all of them but I believe we need time for it and what is left in 2021 may not be enough for it as well.

We are going to end up with much more stuff, but it doesn't mean that we can't do it neither, we may reach 100k during 2021 and it is technically possible and we have seen big bull runs happen before, all I am saying is that it could be a lot more possible if you give 5 months instead of 3 months. Actually if you give all of 2022, like "by this time next year" or something then we would have even more time and it would be even more possible to reach 100k by that time.

true or not, no one knows for sure. your friend is also just doing speculation. it would be great if he gave you a reference as to why the bitcoin price could go that high by the end of the year. however, if they just say it, you need to find a clearer reference on that.

Just think of the price few days back. The price grew all of the sudden and has reached $57k+ in a short time period. Reaching $100k is not at all a big thing, because bitcoin has got the potential and it has a proven record of reaching $64k+ value. End of previous month the price was close around $41k and the growth of around $16k+ have taken place in less than two weeks. When I started writing the post the price was close around $57k and now fallen low to $55500. We can't say with assurance, but with the inflow of money there is little chance of reaching $100k this year.

This has been quite a long standing speculation and something that might become true just because people think it'll happen. We did get quite high and I think it's likely we'll see a new all time high within a year but whether that'll be $100k or not would be different...

Also if you're asking this because you're thinking of investing, it might be a bad idea to (at least with an unaffordable amount).

Many have higher predictions than that but it is obvious the 100k level is probably the most targeted, just as the 10k level was targeted as it would be the first time bitcoin would have a value of 5 figures now we are targeting 100k for similar reasons.

And it does not seem as hard to reach, the market is trending positively and hype is building around bitcoin once again, however as you state I do not think it is a good idea for someone that knows nothing about it to invest now as they would be doing it mostly because they want fast profits, and while they could get them it is also likely they invest too late and invest at the peak of the bull run and they lose a massive amount of money once it ends.

Yes, it is purely speculation. And I think it is no need for a reference because it cannot help much. We all know that no one can guarantee the price of Bitcoin to achieve $100k, it is something impossible. I am not sure if every statement of big players or experienced traders, can be trusted. Those people who speculate Bitcoin to reach $100k, may just try to make people not exit or take profits too early.

Everyone can speculate on their own and since no one can predict the Bitcoin price, all we have to do is to speculate the possible price in the future.
They are just holders who believe that the Bitcoin price will reach $100k and there's nothing wrong with it, it's a sign of courage to them to keep hold their Bitcoin and not to sell at an early stage where the purchase.

IMO, Bitcoin will not reach a $100k price in this last quarter of the year, it's too early for that.  However, I have doubt that this year the previous ATH will break and surpass the newest one.  We're in $57k and a little more to go to become a $60k plus which is the previous ATH.

At the end any projection that we make about the future is speculation, what we need to know is if there is any basis to it so we can believe we can reach that price, and I think based on that we are seeing and what we have seen bitcoin do in the past I think the speculation that bitcoin could reach 100k by the end of the year is not out of realm of possibility and I think it is likely it will happen.

Now does this means that it will absolutely happen? No, as no one can really assure us this will be the case, but I think right now it is more likely bitcoin will reach 100k by the end of the year than a scenario in which this does not happen.

If you have said this before two years everyone would have laughed at you but now this sounds realistic and doable. There are higher possibility of bitcoin reaching $100000 mark but the end of this year as its nearing to new ATH right now as I am typing this post, Bitcoin has bounced back multiple times in last one year as bitcoin was struggling around 28k in mid July but it has pump by over 115% within 3 months hence we can expect atleast 50% to 60% pump if market remains bullish.

@OP, I don't believe BTC would go that high as I see it going $75k max and after that, it may stabilize. Ask your friends to check history of BTC as well and see what happened in January after those sudden pumps. Why to expect (or speculate) for overnight spikes in prices when we can have organic growth?

predictions which of course are generally known that there will be an increase by bitcoin at the end of 2021, but if we look at the % that occurred in september, it is clear that there are indeed similarities with 2017.
If it's true that this October there is an increase of around 47% then it is certain that ATH will be formed in December.

If the prediction of what price will happen is certainly still difficult to guess, we will see at the end of October if it can indeed increase by that prediction, so that bitcoin can pass $70K.

based on bitcoin experience, many can conclude what the wishes and movements will be made by bitcoin. because usually bitcoin is not much different from what it has done so far.

I think the possibility is very big and now the BTC price has reached a new ATH with all the possibilities that happen I think the price of 100k at the end of the year is not impossible.

With two months to go, I don't think it can, there's no big news that I can think of that it will just pump to $80k and $90k but there's reason to celebrate even if it did not reach $100k and that's just a matter of time before we'll have another all-time high, it's more realistic that it will reach $75k, the community will celebrate for this new milestone.

We will have another milestone next month which is the Taproot. So I think that is enough to fuel the price to 6 digit in December, IMHO. If not then we have early 2022 to still reach that price so still a win-win situation.

And maybe we can hear another good news this month, as far as I remember there are around 3-4 Bitcoin ETF yet to be approved. So that alone might be the next catalyst that will push the price higher at the end of the year.

I wouldn't say "matter of time" as in sometime soon, but it will definitely happen one day, maybe tomorrow, maybe a month from now, or maybe in a few years but it will definitely happen, it is true in that sense of "matter of time". The ups and downs will happen small time, breaking ATH is not easy and even if you break it by like few thousand dollars, it will still be a hard thing to achieve, and that is why I believe it is not going to be easy.

However at the end of the day, if we end up with something like 70k+ or something then it will be easy afterwards, breaking the 68k barrier will be the hard part, afterwards I feel like things look easier.

Still, that will be a "matter of time" as we do not know the right time and even if you say that is about sometime soon, it still means a matter of time before we see when the price will go up to $100k. But we believe that it will happen very soon because the price can lift the price in a short time and we still have two months left until the end of this year. So everything will be possible, including the crash that may come before the price start to jump to the next highest price.

I consider that this month, the price could be somewhere at $70k and the rally will continue in the next month to the $80k, and then in December, we will see a huge jump from bitcoin price to go to $100k. But we need to be patient and prepare our bitcoin to sell at our target price.
