I heard and seen different types of risers but does it matter to purchase the latest risers over the old or they all work? Cos I can see that risers with 006
number are less cheaper 009 risers

Both new and old risers will work perfectly and it's also smarter to keep extras around because you can never know when they will stop working, buy any that your money can buy

The latest risers are actually the best, the work extremely well than the older risers and they looks more attractive too, the expansion parts is what got me, you will find molex, two 6pin on the 009S and they removed the less powerful SATA cable too, if you have the money go with the 009s

The video is in Portuguese, but you can understand perfectly the tests performed with a testloader in 3.3v and 12v lines. In this experiment a riser version 0.06 and a 0.09 are compared and in the tests the 0.09 did much better:

While many version of the risers usually work the latest one being 010S offers some troubleshooting lights as an extra option and of course the build quality is much better than previous generations like everything in the computer world that comes new. However I am using mostly 009S risers and they are working from quite a long time without any problems.

It doesn't matter to me, I use many old risers and I've never swapped them out for another, they work perfectly ok so I don't see any reason why I should hunt for a special riser either 002 004 or 006 they all work well

I have a lot of old 003 raisers and they work great. I would do this, if your video card consumes less than 130 watts, then I would take the ones that are cheaper. But keep in mind that the same models may have different soldering qualities. Therefore, I first ordered several raisers from each supplier, and then bought boxes of 25 from the best seller.
For graphics cards that consume more than 130 watts, buy the latest version.

I would only buy latest risers if I have graphic cards like RTX3080 and 3090s since they draw lots of power but for the likes of gtx1660s, rtx2060 and 3060s any riser versions will be more than ok since they draw less power

From what I have found is that it’s hit or miss which risers are better or worse. I had these old old risers from 2016 or so and I figured I would upgrade them with newer ones which had more features and more available connections. And long story short , I got stability issues with a lot of them. Put my old ones back in and didn’t have any issues.

I don’t think it’s the version, it might of been how they were built or maybe how they were handled, maybe they got damaged in shipping, I don’t know. However if you got working risers now, just keep using them . Upgrading to new ones, unless you need some special connection it’s just not worth the issues you might encounter with the switch.

This is the very first rule in mining. If the mining farm is working, then you shouldn't optimize it.
I try to use RTX3080 and RTX3090 because there are many problems with these cards due to overheating.
They can only be used with good ventilation, which is very expensive .

I like the look and the features on many of the new risers but I have not bought any extras in years. The 006 models I bought back in 2017/2018 are still working just fine and I have so many spares it just seems like a waste to upgrade for no reason at this point.

The truth is new risers have better features and more stronger components on them, you can easily see that the capacitors on the new 009risers are more in numbers over the old risers and also more power plugs are available, 6pins and molex even attractive lightening
