Hello to everyone .

I am facing a problem with one of my S9's. While running with 3 red lights on the 3 hashboards suddenly the last one red light goes off and in miner status from 63chips it shows only 1chip active. Fans working perfect and power supply changed also. However i've replace it with one my spare ones and worked for 7-10minutes then reboots . So now its working with only 2 hashboards with not problem. Might me the control board?

Any ideas what's going on?

Your thread looks so messy better edit your thread and put all kernel logs on insert code with the # icon.


I don't think if it's a control board but the logs show a false signal on one of your hashboard possible it could be a hardware issue.

Can you try to run all hashboard one by one? Just to find which hashboard is the culprit.

Then if you found that hashboard check them physically if there are burnt parts.

The best way to troubleshoot this would be to leave the bad board plugged in a different slot using a different ribbon/data cable while unplugging the other two, if the problem persists then you have a bad hash board which is likely the case, if it isn't, then we can troubleshoot further, however, given the kernel logs you posted I can't help but think it's just a bad hash board.

Was there any other hash boards attached during the test? Did you try a different ribbon cable?

If it was only one board and you tried different ribbon cables then it could be a PSU issue, try using a different PSU.

You should also try to flash a different firmware, try the multi-option firmware by bitmain.

+1 for multi-option firmware then reduce the hashrate or just choose lower power enhanced mode.
Let see if it run without issue if the issue is still the same after you replace or the swap ribbon cable and power supply cable the possible issue is your hashboard.

However, if it runs on low power mode then the possible issue is your PSU it's not giving enough power to run at the default hashrate.

Since you have another s9 miner swapping some parts of your s9 to another s9 should be enough to find the culprit.

Indeed the problem was a malfunctioning hashboard. Since the psu is brand new i replace ribbon cables etc etc and test one by one hashboard. I replace with a another hashboard and its working like a charm since 2 days now .
