Well thank you, I appreciate that your criticism.  But the topic isn't about my article, it's about the idea of paying employees in Bitcoins.

First you need to be able to buy food and housing or apartments with bitcoins.

Until then it's hard.

No. You just need to be able to convert bitcoin into insert_national_currency_here and back into bitcoin again just as easily.

But you can convert Bitcoins to money after you've been paid.  I guess I was thinking of Bitcoins as an alternate form of capitol for employers.  Obviously this would require both employer and employee to either both be Bitcoin users, or for one to get the other started.  Currency is currency, exchanging it doesn't mean it loses value, it just changes from one form to another.

Although, I agreed, the ability to buy food directly with Bitcoins would be awesome.

In my defense I said hard, not impossible.

People won't want to go through the 1 extra step unless they are nerds and the coolness factor is worth it.

But if they like it and want to try that, then sure, they can do that.

If you could buy food via bitcoins, people would prefer to be paid in it i'm sure.

As bitcoins are easier to deal with then money. (And I mean deal in both terms)

I'm a nerd, but it's not the coolness factor in my case.  It's the possibility of opening a new market for labor.  I'm like the rest of us, I just want to work and be paid for my labor.  If I can get extra work by accepting Bitcoins as payment, that's good news for me.
