What coin will you hold for a very long time like that? because bitcoin is enough during the halving period, it will reach renewable ATH.

obviously holding, is a pretty good thing but it's also worth looking at the coin and the timing it will do. obviously with a very long time like 5-10 years is a very ineffective thing to do. only once every 4 years (halving period) there will be a sharp increase and you can do that.

After selling it when you get the profit you want (not greedily) then you just have to wait for the correction to be ready to buy, immediately return to hold it for a period of 4 years again.

That's too long but this is applicable to the best cryptos in the market including bitcoin and ethereum. I have the assurance with the top coins but if you're going to hold for the unknown cryptos in the market and you've just chosen them lately, you don't expect a lot from them for that long or you become lucky with them. It's hard to know since the market is very volatile and there are cryptocurrencies that we can't know what the future holds them.

it seems for a time like 5-10 years you are clearly right, this is too long. we know that the nature of bitcoin is that when it has entered the halving period there will be a sharp increase (renewable ATH occurs) before finally there will be a correction again. but it will only happen once every 4 years not as long as stated.

the crypto market is clearly unpredictable and can always change quickly but the halving period is a certainty and always happens and the same has happened and bitcoin has experienced 2 halvings and last year the third halving.
so this year is an increase to achieve renewable ATH compared to past ATH.

If you already made a profit on DOGE I suggest you just order your profit and change it to a better optional coin. However, you may still keep some but make sure you've taken all your capital with at least a little profit from it, so you don't curse yourself the next time it gets dumped again.

You don't have to wait for the price to recover, or sell it by buying another coin. You can make short term trades. Even though the price is still low, you will get an increase in the number of coins with short-term trades. So when the price recovers, you will benefit from the number of coins you have.

This is not realistic thing about Dogecoin because I have feeling this is not possible for him to touch this figure in near future even Elon Musk is giving some good shorts about this but still it is just a meme coin and have nothing use case even devs never done any development, but community is having use for fewer fees on few casinos or transfer of funds from one exchange to second nothing other specialty with this joke coin which give strong indicator for touching $1 in near future recently it is having some correction and again just can to on previous rate or some above if Elon going to tweet again or someone going to hype for his own sack.

Shiba is also having some better trading volume in recent time, but nothing use case is appearing for this also.

This is only personal opinion, but if me i will change to a new coin, or it is all depends on economic condition of the trader. Because if i still have spare money to trade, or maybe to regain my capital back and i still can hold my doge while doing it, then i will hold. If don't have other choices then i will sell, because waiting will only waste time and maybe chance to gain profit in other coins.

Dogecoin is not an altcoin worth holding on to in the long term, because when Dogecoin pumped its price to ATH 6 months ago, it happened because

Because he was eaten by FOMO so he bought Doge at a high price and didn't know how to risk buying at a very high price while Doge couldn't go back to high prices unless Elon Musk acted again on his twitter tweet.
However, the decision is in his hands if he dares to change to another altcoin then he can possibly have a potential coin with trend-following increases and if he sticks with doge then it can last at a very long low price.

It's really risky to buy Doge in large quantities, that's the risk of playing Doge, oddly enough after you sell the price will definitely go up, so for now it's better to just wait because now Doge is entering a period of correction.
