I think bitcoin growing faster because people found out that it is useful in our modern world. Many institutional investors buy bitcoin this year and it will become double in the next year, so there is a big possibility that Bitcoin will rise double than it's price today.

I think bitcoin growing faster because people found out that it is useful in our modern world. Many institutional investors buy bitcoin this year and it will become double in the next year, so there is a big possibility that Bitcoin will rise double than it's price today.

What do you mean useful? I don't think that's the main reason why Bitcoin is sky rocketing. Most people doesn't even use Bitcoin to pay for something, instead they are just holding it and consider it as a store of value. So, that means, a lot of people has become interested in purchasing Bitcoin because they found out that value is rapidly increasing each and every year.

However, I don't mean to take away the "usefulness" of Bitcoin especially that it possesses a borderless payments feature. But most people are just not too concerned about that, they are far more concerned on Bitcoin's growth as it potentially gives then huge profit long term.

Maybe that's one of the reasons, but don't forget also, what bitcoin does is a successful development from before, a lot of things they have done, from development, promotion and other things that affect it, not only because of the first cryptocurrency that exists, so they easily get a position and sell value as it is now, if that's the only reason, maybe bitcoin will not be able to maintain a sell value as stable as this.

An additional reason is that bitcoin was have a real decentralized means, in all cryptocurrencies that have claimed real decentralized, bitcoin has held that title and because of that bitcoin now is the main currency that will be used as a payment system. So now, the more exciting is there are a lot of countries that were adopting bitcoin and start legalizing it under their jurisdiction, so instead of banning this, they use it as their tools when it comes to financing. This could be the reason why bitcoin keeps growing and growing each year because of its real usage.

This is because satoshi was wise enough to know that it would be a bad idea to keep so many coins for himself, and even if it is believed he has one million coins in his addresses those coins come from mining which at the time anyone could have been done by spending just a few cents of electricity, while in the case of modern altcoins it is not rare to see developers selling only a small portion of their coins and retaining the 90% of the whole supply of their coin, making it extremely centralized in the process.

Something big keep happening to bitcoin and it was a recent ATH hit yesterday and is also linked to increased adoption. There's no really credible reason to see it keep going up, it's very unlikely. Volatility happen all the time even when you least expect it. We know that bitcoin is a currency that give you a different experience than fiat. No authority controls it and its anonymous nature is the reason why it is favored by the public.

I believe that the very big reason is that its entry point and known more than any other. It is at the top of the list and if you want to buy crypto then buying bitcoin is the easiest part of doing that. I get that we as crypto people know thousands of coins right now and that's fine, we could invest into those if we want to, however all the newbies and veterans alike end up investing into bitcoin first, then moving to other things if they want to.

This is the main reason why we have such big volume on bitcoin, and why we have high leverage as well because people want to make a lot of profit but they do not want to risk it with low level coins. @24Kt, I am not too complacent about Bitcoin being a safe haven, and if you read what I said every well I have already mentioned cryptocurrency which technically means within the crypto sphere.

The cool thing about the popularity of bitcoin is that, nobody did marketing for it. I mean we all did, we are the marketing of it, but nobody really paid marketing money to promote bitcoin itself so that they would earn money, satoshi didn't spend a dime on marketing after he created it.

People got in, and same people who got in ended up promoting bitcoin to everyone around them and that’s how they made their money. I do not think that you could beat word of mouth in marketing, if you could convince some people to promote you instead of you yourself promoting it, then you did something amazing. So much so that Satoshi even left, and we still ended up getting more people on bitcoin.
