Dude, Are you familiar with the Golden Rule?  “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Simple as that!

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

First, I know for such case most users mostly upload some proof of discussion and transaction.
Secondly, this story is too fake to be true.
If the story was real I wonder why OP didn't upload transactions and chat conversations between him and the scammer to give proof about is story, it will be hard to believe stories like this. I think it may be cooked story from OP thinking it will make him to be relevant  not knowing that post like this will spoil his reputation in the forum. He still claims he did the right thing by collecting the money of a scammer.

I am interested in discussing the long story above, I noticed that there are several conclusions before you carry out scammer activities and you are free to respond to some of the conclusions below:
1. Responding to messages from anonymous, usually not everyone wants to respond to messages of unknown people for any activity, but you communicate with him even though you are working in the office, even presentation activities are waiting for you, so my assumption is that you often respond from unknown people.
2. The first payment, after dealing with him then he confirms to send half first to get full BTC, so that part is very suspicious if he is a scammer, maybe just your guess. Actually she already sent ETH as agreed but you didn't respond because you were in the presentation room, so how would you feel if you were in Dewi position, would you also tweet Nigerian language.
3. No refund, I know you are angry because of the words that attacked you but note the second point, you ignored it after you went to the presentation room. At the very least you should send BTC with the estimated ETH equivalent sent or refund.
4. But, you didn't confirm whether you have BTC in your wallet/exchange account and no valid proof attached, conversation proof and ETH transaction, so just a fairy tale for the title "Scammer get scammed"!.

You are not sure the person is a scammer he might be correct about what he said, I know scammers are coming up with new ways to cheat people but You keeping the money make you a scammer also because the person may not be a scammer, if you can do what he asked you to do then return his money to him, I hope you return the money to him as you said because if you did not then you are also a scammer. Also we should all be careful and smart because scammers are everywhere looking for how to defraud people.

This is a bad action and in the first place you defaulted on your agreement and that does not speak well of you intention and that make you no different from your victim most probably he may even be innocent, don't get my point wrong because am judging from your line of story and how the whole event went between you both. First why should leave an unfinished deal for a meeting in the office keeping the other person waiting without any words from you, and if you looking for a way to clear your concerns then I will advise you either give a charity arm with the money and get the money refunded back to the sender not minding if he is a scammer or not you have to be careful with people you interact with on social media.

If I understand correctly, you have not fulfilled your obligations.
What difference does it make in what language he cursed you, and from what country did he introduce himself to you? It's the internet, and it can tell you it's from Mars. Another point is that you left without warning him and without fulfilling your part of the contract.
What to call you, if not a scammer? How are you different from him? Return his money, and sleep well, otherwise, this is the most common scam.

I agree with this. We are not a gang of thieves and highwaymen.

Did he ever send it back?

He should return to him the money even if he just sends it back to the source address where it might not be received due to coming from an exchange.

If the OP has a telegram, and he can receive a message about the mention of his name, I think he will sweat again and remember his act, which he considered heroic.  Grin
I remember this guy on the forum. He was passionate about raising his rank by making up stories. But the forum did not appreciate it. He probably created a new account, since he dishonored this one.
Still, I think that if this story were real, a person like OP would have kept the money. Such is the greed of some people, unfortunately.

Was at the office when a message pop on my Facebook messenger saying he is dewi from Indonesia that he is  interested in buying BTC worth $2000 I ask him why not buy through the wallet he is using, he said the wallet is not yet verified, I asked him again which wallet he is using he replied Binance, I smiled, I also asked him why did he think buying online is better he said because no kyc or verification need online and I ask him are you ready to risk it he boldly tell me yes. To cut the story short he was persuading me to send the BTC first before he make payment which I refuse, he even told me to send half of the BTC which he will make full payment  after I confirm payment i send the remaining BTC I also refuse, then he said he's going to send me $300 worth of  Etherume to show me how serious he is, I sent him my Etherume wallet and he made a deposit of $300 worth of Etherume. at the moment it was time for my presentation at the office so I went offline after the presentation I came online, I was seeing all sorts of pidgin local Nigeria insultive words.
that caught my attention how can an Indonesia citizen speak and write a pigeon local Nigeria insultive words then I decided not to refund him his Etherume for him to feel how others feel when they are being scammed.

Note__ scammers can go extra mile even by sending you money first in order to achieve what they need.

I have one question am I a scammer too or did I do  wrong by not sending him his Etherume back because after this incident my conscience has been beating me.
 stay safe.

If the tale is accurate, then I believe he is too predictable to be a con artist because there are numerous con artists with varied tactics, and many people fall for them because they are skilled and well-organized. That is why it is crucial to be knowledgeable in order to avoid being easily aroused by con artists' alluring offer. If it asks whether you are the same as the fraudster, it would probably be best if you just left it at that and didn't continue if you thought there might have been fraud indicators. so that you won't have to worry about whether or not your actions mirror those of the fraudster. hence, I believe just do.

Ops have abandoned this thread since he received the backlash of his life creating this thread, this forum is e
the wrong place to share such an experience of a dishonest act, and as a matter of fact, this guy is the scammer in this case since we don't have the other person here to share his/her side of the story. But from what ops have shared with us here it is justifiable to call his act a scam.

Scammer get scammed

This remind me of what happened in compound last two months or there about. A boy in my compound was drinking in Ogogoro or Ekaikai (gin) and he met a young guy and this my neighbor approached him to learned learn how to scam people and the boy told him he has to buy some devices to kick start the project. so this my neighbor took the boy to a phone shop (store) and bought a new device for the boy. The following day, early morning my neighbor went to work. And the boy who want to teach my neighbor how to scam packed everything in house and ran away, when my neighbor came from work his house empty. And that was the time he become to realized that he has been scammed and he burst into cry. he was crying and saying that he has been scammed then we asked him how did it happened? and he started narrating what conspired (brought) both of them together. After his narration everyone who heard the story left him behind to face his dilemma. That became the saying of the op topic.

Perhaps, it was a common story and it was a very usual thing to happen to realize that we just got scammed too late.
 - Don't easily trust strangers
 - stop being greedy
 - think several times before we decide

However, people even forget all of these things, especially when hearing about money and scammers use this technique to trick greedy people. It was really sorry but it was a need for them also to realize their wrongdoings.

I would say that OP is a scammer too because as far as I can tell and my opinion of how the story goes. OP did received the eth from the victim in $300 worth of ethereum which it is supposedly a down payment to buy BTC and the rest of the payment will be sent too as per statement of the victim and OP did check where the funds that is sent by the victim to OP is reflected on his wallet and decided not to give a refund to the victim. Let's just say that OP won't even spend or touch a single cent of the funds for himself but to spend the money to help others who are really in need of something or he donate the money to a charity still won't change the fact that the he got the money from the person he scam regardless of who or what kind of person that will get scammed.

I agree with the others that he (as what op stated in the post that he is a scammer) deserves it and should know how it feels to get scammed. It's also a good thing that OP shared this story to spread awareness that some scammers can go extra mile just to scam people such as making their target believe that they are even willing to sent money first before the actual scam happen.

This reminded me of the video I watched on YouTube with the same situation where a scammer got scammed and the scammer is also from Indonesia.

If you really want to be safe, don't talk too much to strangers, especially if they send you random messages from the Internet. It is best to ignore them in the first place so that our greed will not rise and we won't have to do anything stupid in the future.
Since there is always a law of cause and effect that exists, never think of fooling someone to get rich, because the retribution will soon come to us after a while.
Make money yourself with your ability, just try your best, all efforts will be rewarded.

If you think of it, the original victims' funds are transferred from the "old" scammer to the "new" scammer.

Doubt he knows or would be willing to return it to the victim(s) since it would be too much of a hassle anyways.
