I would never go for a bet before evaluating all the information available.
Having said that, the underdog bet is something I love and would never miss an opportunity to back the underdog and that can be applied to all sports events including UFC. When it comes to the underdog it all boils down to the information you have and what you expect to see out of your favorite fighters. You also need to know who you have to beat. The bigger the names, the harder the challenge for the underdog.

In any case, that highly depends on whether that $10 is everything I have or if I can still go for another bet even in the event I lose. if I do not have enough funds for betting other than that 10 bucks, I'd still choose the underdog because I could lose at that spot and call it a day, but if I still have money left to spend, I think I would spend it on the people's champ knowing that there's a slightly higher possibility that he/she will have an edge of winning over the underdog, regardless if I were to only earn 3 bucks from it.
I would never go for a bet before evaluating all the information available.

Analysis is really important in placing your bets because you could bet all you want and let everything fall into chance, and sacrifice losing what may be won if only a little bit of research was done beforehand. Or you can research preemptively to gather information against the players and use it to formulate a better approach that will amp your chances of winning by even a few percentages. Honestly I'd take the latter even if the edge of increase is just teeny-weeny. Small edge at winning is still better than no edge at all.

I see what you're getting at here, but I guess it all depends on yourself..can you afford to lose that $10 bucks? I know ten bucks to most people is absolutely nothing, but to some people it is.  So in this situation you've got to weigh that.  Even if losing 10 bucks is nothing, to me that's like wasting money since you have no idea who the person is.  I'd rather wait for something else to bet on that you know better.

First if you are not certain about the Fighters, you do your research and check statistics from their very recent encounters, before you place your bet. You check their preparations for the encounter. Fighter A the champ may just be an overhyped fighter with old glory, who may loose as a result of underestimating the underdog, who in some cases train very hard and when they are out to fight, you see the hunger in them to win. I am a risk take plus I like big wins, i may decide to risk it and bet on the underdog knowing a win will bring big profit.
How about in scenerios where the underdog has no statistics probably because he hasn't had a fight and that was his fight appearance on the rig?

What if  after checking on the statistics of both players  and you end up in a surprise package where the underdog comes in well prepared with even advanced tactics. Although most games are easy to predict but don't be ignorant that it's not the strong that wins most times but the most skilled. For me I would just follow my own instinct which ever my heart settles for I bet on.

I'm not sure if this had been asked before. This is just an example of some odds that I saw recently Fighter A (1.30) vs Fighter B (3.65). With this obviously, Fighter A is the people's champ and Fighter B is the underdog.

Regardless of who is bigger and undefeated record, let's say you have no idea who these fighters are because the names can't even be read like Ulshrkubyki vs Ykwehgyfvbh. If you only have $10 left in your sports betting account, would you go for the champ which you can only earn $3, or go for the underdog which if he got lucky can triple your money?

This actually depends on the capital and the money that I am willing to bet on.

Obviously, if I were to bet between to fighters in which I have no recollection or knowledge about their previous records, the obvious answer here would be the person who has the higher odds. I mean, what would be the difference? I know nothing so might as well bet on the person who has the higher odds.

My answer would be different if I were to risk an amount which is considered high. But if we are talking only about less than $50, I would bet everything to the underdog.

If you aren't sure who you want to bet because of uncertainty and confusion or lack of knowledge, I think you better choose the best option which is the people's favorite. But if I were you, I wouldn't want to waste my money like that even if it's $10, sooner or later you might wanna see yourself again in a situation like that but the difference is you're not betting $10 but instead even bigger than that.

What your decision today might affect your decision tomorrow so, instead of gambling like wasting money. You better wait for the right opportunity in which you could earn surely because you already know who's going to win. Be money-wise always and you might see what's the result of what you were doing in the long run.

The odd difference determines how much of an underdog fighter B is. Now, with that example I guess fighter B stands not so little chances of winning and that also depends on how he fight and his possible advantages against the favourite.
You can't just throw your money to a fighter without checking how he fight first. We have YouTube for easy access and check both fighters first.
Regardless of how small your winnings is as long as you're comfortable with betting to the favourite then that's always better than lossing a bet to an underdog.

If fighter B odds are 3.65 it means this fighter has less than one chance out of three to win while his opponent fighter A has more than tree chances out of four to win. Then if your bank roll is very low and about to be wiped out, you are more likely to go bankrupt by betting on the underdog than on the favorite.

It should depend on the performance of both teams.
One of my known persons told me that India will win the match against Pakistan and India was favorite while Pakistan was underdog in people's eyes. I watched the game where India was struggling to save their wickets and make good runs while Pakistan managed to win with a zero wicket. This proves that sometimes, underdogs can also beat good teams and turn the game on their side.

exactly! you will have confidence betting on the underdog if you are very familiar with his track record. but if you are just betting because of the odds presented by the bookies, you will likely lose. because most of the time bookies chose the underdog for a reason. of course, bookies want to have their edge here so they are giving higher odds for the person or team who is likely to lose.
but if you know that athlete is very prepared and has very good chance to win even if he is underdog, you can easily place bet on him. so yes, it is the knowledge that you have who you will finally bet on this.

Yep, you just don't go with underdog just because of the odds. If you're playing YOLO that's much likely but if you still want to have some higher chance of betting with the underdog then you need to gather information needed if there's a chance that the underdog can win.
I do agree about having your information and it's like verifying first before betting since we're not all have that unlimited bankroll to bet as usual with the underdogs.

I don't know about others but 9 out of 10 times for me, I'm always going to go for the favorites of any given clash. This has been my strategy from the onset and it works out sometimes.  other times, not so great because you tend to lose more considering you have to increase bet amount in order to make tangible returns should the bet go your way but if it's the other way round, you stand a chance to lose much more.

It's only $10 might as well risk it's a gamble because I don't know if the underdog can pull an upset and the favorite has experienced losing to an underdog before, but if it's a big amount let's say $100 I don't think I will bet to the underdog I prefer a small winning and bet the favorite to win the fight, I can only risk on a small amount but not on a big amount.

I watched the game where India was struggling to save their wickets and make good runs while Pakistan managed to win with a zero wicket. This proves that sometimes, underdogs can also beat good teams and turn the game on their side.
I hope you didn't lose too much money on this bet. I bet on India too, because India is a big favorite of this T20 World Cup and a very interesting promotion is currently running on Stake : if your selection scores 180+ runs, you will be paid out as a winner even if it loses. Unfortunately India didn't score 180 runs and loses the game while being favorite @1.45 on Stake.

The odd difference determines how much of an underdog fighter B is. Now, with that example I guess fighter B stands not so little chances of winning and that also depends on how he fight and his possible advantages against the favourite.
You can't just throw your money to a fighter without checking how he fight first. We have YouTube for easy access and check both fighters first.
Regardless of how small your winnings is as long as you're comfortable with betting to the favourite then that's always better than lossing a bet to an underdog.

We normally do see the stats of the fighter and which fighters he had fought before betting for his next fight. It somehow occurs to me about the boxing match of Salido vs Juanma Lopez which Salido is obviously the fighter who is pretty much a mess-up fighter but eventually beat the champ twice. And I mean why is the fighter matched up to another if he has no chance of winning?  An underdog is not so much an underdog if he had won fights before.

Or maybe because $10 is a throwaway coin anyway and it's the last coin I have. I'm moving to another sports betting site.

Because the capital of $ 10 is not a too large amount in my opinion, of course I am more willing to take risks by betting for the underdog. It seems
that most people will be willing to bet on the underdog's victory if they use a small capital, because the risk is very high if we bet for the underdog
victory if we use a large capital. Even a capital of $50 I would not use to bet on an underdog win. To be honest, all this time I've been betting more
on favorite fighter, even though it only made a small profit. Because when playing gambling I prefer low risk, it doesn't matter if we only make
a small profit, but if we collect it, it will be big too.

No questions asked, go all-in to high odds. It's just $10 and you can easily move on from that in case of losing.

The fact that you don't have an idea about those fighters, it's not wrong to take the high odds. It's boxing and sometimes upset happened on that sports. It's more thrilling and exciting while waiting for the result.

Unless you are on the mission to turn that $10 into $100, that's the time you should apply some analysis and will always stick to favorites.

Interesting question, I am not a betting expert, but doesn't it just comes down to personal preferences? Because if we don't know anything about fighter A or B then the odds from the bookies are the only information we can rely on. So the champ is going to win with higher chances and the underdog is going to give us a higher profit. In your example when I only had 10 USD left I would definitely go for the champion, because its higher chances of winning and if I lose I would be broke. In trading the worst thing that can happen is going broke. We don't have any chances than of recovering if our bankroll is 0. We need more information if we want to make a better decision. The more information we can gather the better our prediction of the outcome. I try to only bet on big events when I feel that I have an advantage. For example when a popular team plays at home against a small team than I believe there is more demand from the famous team and odds might be a bit off.

I will go with the popular opinion here, this is the worst kind of betting. You can't just blindly put your money without knowing the two parties right?

But for the sake of argument, the odds of the favourite is not that attractive, but for the underdog it can double or triple your money. So my decision would be to bet on the underdog, it's just 10$ and for sure it wouldn't hurt your pocket if you lose.

But what if your instincts is saying the underdog has no chance to beat the favorite?
Because if you are closely following those individuals involved, you will know their capability in that particular sport.
So for me, this is a case to case basis. Every game or match is different and you can only decide this factor if you know the sports and the athletes well.
But if not, just take your chance betting your $10. Anyway, if you feel you can afford that to lose, it is not big deal whatever the results is.
