As always, new inventions can be used good or for bad. Human nature is unforgiving and when new things come up people tend to use them for the wrong purposes. Of course, this had to happen with cryptocurrency as well. The ease with which fraudsters use it to scam people is one of many examples. But with the development of the blockchain and its many use cases, new applications that can pose serious questions are arising at a fast pace.
As an example, a new crypto project is trying to piece up a global hash database of its user's iris scans. Fact is that
Snowden Twitted about it with some warnings regarding this project.
Biometrics are already used by several companies to identify and provide access to employees, and databases storing this information are centralized and so I wonder, to which point this could be a bad thing if this database is protected by a decentralized blockchain?
