Will the optical miner work for coins other than OBTC optical bitcoin?

Logically yes, this should work on all projects that run on heavyhash.

Guys we need your vote on https://coinsniper.net/coin/21656
It takes two minutes to create an account and validate your vote.

It is very important!

A new project has appeared PhotonicBitcoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5375854.0
This is a copy Optical Bitcoin.
There seems to be an instamine there.
We should expect the appearance of new forks-copies of this coin.

Block explorer needs rich list at least.

There are two explorers -
One is from powx team -
https://explorer.powx.org/

One is build by a community member-
https://obtc.txrat.com/

This one has richlist.

This is a copy Optical Bitcoin.
There seems to be an instamine there.
We should expect the appearance of new forks-copies of this coin.

Having been a miner in both projects, I can tell you this is not true at all, there has not been instamine.

I can also say OBTC project is very fishy.
1) They will ban anyone in their discord talking about PBTC or being in PBTC discord
2) They will delete all discussions about difficulty algo change or pBTC
3) They claim PBTC is malicious even though they have no proof of it
4) They spam PBTC bitcointalk with BS
5) They denied TradeOgre listing, I believe this is because they want to manipulate Exbitron exchange prices
6) They already have FPGAs running in network, and they release a close source miner that has 30%dev fee dated "21 08 15" which could be 2021 08 15 or 21 08 2015, and is recognized in virustotal here:
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/dafa0bbb82261ab49aa4fe05360a7f42c5bc2c96730c730536b6c800674ab5d2?nocache=1
New miners are not recognized, so they either have been mining for some time already without public knowledge or are using some existing miner and just put their name and dev fee on it.
7) OBTC has no interest in community development, so Exbitron exchange made their discord server
8. Official explorer has removed rich list, while the rtrax one has it. Top 3 wallets all have 100k coins+.
Lastly, the OBTC project has been silent mined since March 28, until some strange valuation explosion in November for no reason.

Probably these are some of the reasons PBTC decided to fork, even one of OBTC community devs seems to be in PBTC now instead, kev9, who created website for OBTC when OBTC devs didnt give a shit.

Thanks for the comprehensive answer.
I will follow the development of both projects.
I also mined both coins, I will not make any hasty conclusions, time will tell.
Both projects seem interesting to me.

I think you are just spreading hate for a new project which is having a unique idea of optical miners.
Secondly there are real people with their identity open on twitter and LinkedIn and if any new project like pbtc will use the name or idea from obtc or opow then definitely they need to protect themselves by giving disclaimers about other copy projects to protect their names if in future there is a fake project.
What you say about no community developement. I think you have not been to discord. There is a community site, explorer, wildrig dev has given support to develope miner, many other people are helping here like helped in bridging to BSC chain. The core team is busy with the actual development of miner and other softwares.Go and check the GitHub, check the optical miner prototype. It, is people who believe and mine, they should work on community part and not development team, as they should be busy with core and other dev part.
There is no coin where the richlist don't have top wallets, check ravencoin or any coin they recently have boomed. Go and check the richlist.

Indeed you are a full member, and Kazumi is a newbie, so maybe it would be more correct to call Kazumi your alt.
Myself am a newbie, and only started to be more involved in crypto last spring (ETH surprisingly) and have had no reason to be in bitcointalk when development and majority of miners are in Discord.
Last post I made was about ETH, and now I felt like posting after reading all the BS in OBTC discord, and getting banned for existing in another discord, and the bitcointalk BS.
I still hold a fair share from mining in November.

I just want to end my opinion here. You can assume whatever you want, if that makes you happy. I am following both the projects from day 1. If you want to discuss more, join discord.
I am too a holder in both the coins and not against pbtc, they have their own plans. But creating hate is not good for both the project , it is even not good for pbtc which is a fork of oBTC.
In both projects, I am in under 25 richlist, but I am nowhere blaming any project and following both.
If you have any confusions, discord is best place to discuss.

Is something going on with the network? The last block found was 5-6 days ago, the network hashrate has 1+ TH/s of uknown hashpower, my rig isn't being recognized on the miner.  Is the network in some state other than fully operational?

Edit: Looks like difficulty started clinching down on the network about 1 month ago.  It went from the standard number of blocks per tokenomics to 1 or 2 a day and then further infrequent blocks found since then.  Looks like the dev team is making strides to correct this issue.  They have a test net after determining a best course forward.  No ETA it doesn't seem, but the project is far from abandoned it appears.

2016 block difficulty adjustment was warned about already in March 19th before mainnet launch in 2021, even Doge fixed this in 2014.
The latest wallet release is from 28th of March 2021, from launch day - no bugs fixed this entire time. Think what you like.

Oh I'm aware, they saw this coming from a mile away.  This difficulty issue is precisely why PBTC was forked and created (though that projects seems to be dead now).  The OBTC devs were warned way in advance, and they absolutely refused to fix this in early November even because they didn't want to change the blockchain.  And here we are, almost two months later with this stupid problem of 1 or 2 blocks every several days.

That being said, don't look at the wallet release but the github checkins instead.  They have to test it first.

I have to remember that there are many people who aren't tech savvy or software devs who are into crypto.

People moved to Kaspa that is running modified heavy hash with a lot more solid foundation and solid exchanges.
