If you type blockchain in Google, then the first results you will find are all fake phishing websites of blockchain wallet. Google approves these ads, which is risky for crypto users. So crypto users should always use adblocker, and privacy browser so as not to fall into the trap of such ads.

If I'm not mistaken lately blockchain.com has launched an airdrop events worth of $50 USD for each individual, maybe due to that reason blockchain.com phishing attempt started to pop up again. People should always be vigilant to this kind of attempt, they have to bookmark the important sites (which they visited mostly) so that they would not fall for it.

I ignore all those ads shown in my search results because Google Adwords is not moderated I have seen a lot of scam projects being advertised until now, always bookmark all the sites that you trusted, always look at the URL, make it your habit and yes adblockers works on these phishing ads.
I wonder why they target login blockchain, since it needs email verification they cannot get in without clicking the verification link coming from the email.

When are the phishing links popping up? Once you are searching Blockchain Wallet or during a search of other cryptocurrency-related keywords? If this is popping up during Blockchain search then I will ask why are you searching Blockchain Wallet? If you are a user of the blockchain Wallet then you should remember the link or should bookmark the link. It has been discussed many times on the forum and almost all cryptocurrency users except newbies know about this kind of scam. As much as possible I try to avoid searching and logging in. Either I bookmark or remember the spelling of the Wallet site. More importantly, we should avoid web wallets anyway.

It is very dangerous to use any address which is sponsored either on google or on any other sites. To stay safe we should double check the url where we are providing login credentials. If  the site already used on then we should save the url to stay away from this type of phishing sites. Now a days it is very challenge to stay away from the impersonators.

When it comes to crypto, most of the links that the average user will see at the top of search results are phishing links - so I don't understand what kind of loss of important information you're talking about? AdBlock does not block classic search results, but only those links that appear through advertisements - and since Google cannot or does not want to check what it actually advertises, the benefit of blocking such links is many times greater than any possible benefit.

If you search under the term "blockchain" with blocked ads, the first result will be a legitimate site, and if you try without AdBlock, you will get a phishing link at the top of the search results - so the thing is quite clear, and that in any case such an add-on is built into every browser, we would have at least 50% less phishing victims.

The fake site can't be reach now. So maybe, it was already taken down.
Also, whenever I encounter fake or phishing site, I report it to google.
Because the more people that will report the site, the high chance that they will take it down.
These scammers will try, even paying for the ads, but the site itself - they just change some letters to make it look the original (this is for those people who don't check the original site's address).

Not only on Blockchain but other keywords not related to Cryptocurrency too, phishing sites will create ads that will lure visitors to visit click the links so they can trap them and scam them, I have seen this happens on wallets not related to Cryptocurrency like Payza, Paypal and Solidtrust, but they are now concentrating on Cryptocurrency because this is very popular now on the internet.

Have you read my previous posts? Scammers have no chance if users are computer literate and know how to install a single plugin in the browser. Phishing through search results is not primarily a problem of Google as a company that is only interested in profit, but users who use the Internet in the wrong way.

It may not be the best comparison, but every car has a seat belt that has a purpose - but then why don’t so many people use a seat belt and it ultimately costs them their lives? Did you check what they asked for after sharing the wallet id? It's very likely that will be email confirmation. There are lots of ways to utilize such data. You can't even imagine. Hackers are more smarter.
Google ads have always been this stupid. Approving ads which contain phishing sites are normal. We are the people who have to save ourself. Be cautious while making financial transaction or sharing confidential information.
