I totally agree that a strong community and decentralized nature of a project can make a project very strong, but it comes back again that we've seen for ourselves how Mark Zuckerberg built it all. And I don't think there is a comparison between Bitcoin (BTC) and Meta

It's not yet even started and better to try rather than try to do nothing and saying it will be fail. Metaverse has nothing to do with bitcoin and otherwise it will be building a new digital world that will let human interact with others on its digital world. The decentralization was an option, Anything didn't need to be decentralized. That makes no sense to force store to be decentralized or etc.

Metaverse is going to be the future of internet and Facebook is taking the first step towards it so it has no reason to be considered with the bitcoin or cryptocurrency just because the name blockchain is involved in it since the usage is completely different. Well, meta by Mark Zuckerberg is a great competitor for the market itself. I don't think that anyone could out perform their engineers in terms of innovation in the coming years. Maybe he saw that virtual reality is the next big thing and he wants to expand his company to that space. Centralisation in the other hand is nothing to do with his future failure. In my opinion, I think that meta would fail if they dont satisfy its consumers like facebook did. Added by regulations and lapses they made through their advertisement. These are the ones that could potentially cause its failure.

No... there will always be room for both centralized and decentralized systems.  There are many use cases for centralized systems where no trust issues occur. 

And unfortunately there will always be people who do not care about trust issues.

As for Facebook I think they will fail for everyone else because they are giving people more and more reasons to care about trust issues (Cambridge Analytica, recent leaks about internal processes, etc) and frankly ran by a weird looking Alien.

Facebook is losing popularity any way, all the youngsters use instagram & tiktok now. I suppose FB have whatsapp too but Telegram is making that obsolete too. Zuck will obviously never be desperate for money but i do feel his main businesses are past their peak now.

There are lots of people who wouldn't mind as long as it's convenient, "cool" and easy to use. If you tell them about the privacy implication for example they probably wouldn't care much about that as they typically would say they have nothing bad to hide. They are basically trusting the rulers with their data.

I'm looking at Meta for declaring their intention to go into metaverse in a positive way. This opens the idea that crypto is for everyone and it shouldn't be feared by most people.

In the past years, there's always the negative aura when someone talks about cryptocurrencies. The misinformed people are staying away from those people and thinks that it's a total scam.
