hi, i am a beginner in the world of crypto. I made a purchase through monero and I was satisfied with the timing and versatility, starting to get passionate about this world. I know that the mymonero wallet is unsafe, in fact I am inquiring about the various portable wallets. but since I need to change the hard disk of my laptop with an ssd, I was wondering if any formatting and change of the pc hard disk could make me lose the monero that I have in the mymonero wallet installed on the pc. obviously after formatting I would restore the system as before. thanks to those who will give me a hand!

Backup your seed & private key = safe.

There is no need to worry, as long you backup your wallet. Is already one of the procedures you need to do before in case your device has some problem, broken, get stolen or want to move a device from one to another.

Even if you restored the system, it's way safer to specifically back up the mnemonic seeds by that wallet, just write it down or save it somewhere that is truly secure.

I don't know the way of how you backup-restoring your system, and there's a chance that it might be some problems over the course when the device is restoring. So better safe than sorry.

thanks a lot to everyone! 🙏
of course, I have the secret keys and the address of the wallet, so I shouldn't have any problems re-installing the mymonero app and accessing my wallet. now I just have to find out if I need to make a manual backup on the mymonero wallet, or if it does it automatically by itself (I think more the second one)

I don't know that wallet, anyways just make sure you copy your recovery phrase down or private keys, you can also download mobile wallet like coinomi wallet Monero is much supported on coinomi wallet and the syncing is instant, just open coinomi and send your Monero to the coinomi Monero address since you want to format the PC
