I am kinda curious about this....

So, I wondered about using Tesla Model S as you do Minning, which I found on my social media, specifically Instagram. I was shocked as here in my country Testa is nowhere to be seen by my very own eyes, especially when Iam in Manila.

Like me wondering and if anyone know about this like how? I read one article but I dont think that I got the specific answer from what I wanted to know.
https://electrek.co/2017/11/29/tesla-mining-bitcoin-model-s-supercharger-power/

From What I understood it's a bad idea cause it's possibly bad for the battery and if your using it as your very own charging station at home or using it while driving it's still bad not good for the battery pack.

I got the other 2 questions here:

-I know it might be a waste of your time explaining to me but at least if you know or understand it that fast not like me who's IQ is not that good but sharing about how could this be efficient and possible as you can see they are doing it?

-If you're like me who is curious and wondering what are your thoughts about this? using Tesla.

It's efficient because he was planning on using a free unlimited supercharging plan, so he could fill up, drive home, leave the rig mining on the battery come back again and charge the battery for free. Tesla has since then phased out the unlimited free plan for everyone unless you had a lifetime one and they are just doing random promos right now and so probably a new buyer will not have this advantage. But this is just theory.

Besides, imagine having 10 3090 in your trunk and an asshole crashing into you at a stop sign.  Roll Eyes

-If you're like me who is curious and wondering what are your thoughts about this? using Tesla.

You can use any car, not just a Tesla, all you need is one huge battery pack and some business that will let you load it for free.

Jokes aside, if I remember correctly there's a competitor of Tesla who sells mining as their extra feature. I doubt they're aiming for efficiency though, the plan is quite simple, just use the energy from solar panel to run a node/rig like usual and hope you can at least earn some dollars from it.

If it were me, I'd rather buy a dedicated rig if I'm serious about mining. Throwing around hundred thousands of dollars to buy Tesla just to mine is just not the way to go.

I've heard about this before (mining with a Tesla).. There are Tesla's everywhere here in the States, but if I owned one I don't think I'd use it for mining. I can't help but wonder how much BTC a Tesla could mine in a day, I wouldn't think it could be much. Not to mention, it would definitely add stress to your battery. Whether it can actually be done or not, I don't really know. But, if I were serious about mining I'd do it in a much more contained area where I could really make some profit off it..

Whenever anybody claims to have free power I usually put that to the test and it's proven to not be true fairly quickly.  I can't tell you how many people I've known who say they have free power and then hook up a few miners and things quickly change.  Landlords freak out at sudden 4 figure electricity bills and investigate...  Businesses change their plans.  I guess it's good while it lasts, but typically ends up with a worse deal going forward.  Not just mining, but a good example of why we can't have nice things.

There are already quite a few such enthusiasts who make money on mining using Tesla electric vehicles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h4IFodTgr4

Mining will be profitable if Tesla was purchased before January 2017, which allows it to be charged free and unlimitedly for the entire life of the car, which means that there will be no electricity costs.

It appears that it's possible to mine cryptocurrency using Tesla's built in graphics card and it can be efficient, but you still need free power and a tesla. This means that you need to spend $5k on solar panels and buy the car, that isn't cheap and all you'll get from it is ~10 bucks a day.

Quote
Sohmers, who says he was the first to crack into the Model 3 in 2018, tells CNBC that profits that high just aren’t possible.

“The best estimate I would have for the hashrate for the GPU in the Model 3  would be around 7-10 MH/s. Currently, at 10 MH/s, that would generate revenue of about $13.38 worth of ether, before any expenses,” Sohmers told CNBC.

Also, hacking into tesla's OS voids warranty, so there's that... Might be a god idea if you already own the car and solar panels and get sick/break a leg and can't drive for a while. If the car just sits there and collects dust it can at least do some mining.
