Earlier this year I built a standalone on-chain analytics package that allows a user to centralise all price and on-chain data so that you can aggregate, build, analyse and test your own or existing on-chain metrics, pricing models etc. The software was built to be easy to use, install (ie just a few clicks to install) and build your own bitcoin/crypto on-chain repository including:

* A rdbms database builder to store large multiple price/on-chain data repositories (eg prices, on-chain data) includes data provider integration using your own preferred data sources, automatic updates, logging, data aggregation from multiple sources, data and task scheduling, data export and formatting ( ie json, csv, xml, excel etc).
* Intuitive advanced charting, flexible and configurable on-chain/market dashboards (including real-time data).
* A graphical analytics framework to quickly spin-up new bitcoin/crypto price or on-chain metrics data studies and models using coloured function building blocks that lock together like a jigsaw puzzle.
* Your own research tools (eg Excel, Python, R, Machine Learning, Quant software etc) can hook into the rdbms database.

I have not done anything with the software but will be in a position to revisit and perhaps publish. A free version could be made available and a paid for version if there was a demand for it.

Some questions around this project are what is the market for this (AI, algos, quants, b2b??), should it be released as saas or workstation, what is the USP (ie the visual analytics development environment?, easy database builder and extensive scheduling? data aggregator and cleaning for machine learning/AI?etc),  how do you market it (are their sales partners, co-founders etc who might work to market/sell the project or a one off sale to a third party?).

I can get some screenshots/get a free download version and landing page together when I get back home next month if any interest.

should it be released as saas or workstation,
I would go with SaaS [assuming that there's no issue with the type of data that's being transmitted].

what is the USP (ie the visual analytics development environment?, easy database builder and extensive scheduling? data aggregator and cleaning for machine learning/AI?etc),
Personally, I think the first two should be the USPs.

how do you market it (are their sales partners, co-founders etc who might work to market/sell the project or a one off sale to a third party?).
Instead of those, can't you just offer a subscription-based model?

Note: Those were just my subjective opinions, based on my limited knowledge in this field [other users might have a different opinion].

Hello,

The first thing I can think of is a github and/or a webpage of the project.

Usually bitcoin enthusiasts will  prefer open-source projects, and certainly anyone will appreciate a website where we can see more information about the project.

Yes could be offered as a saas/subscription model including a free account level. A free download could be offered but parts of the software may have to be reworked if open sourced. At the moment just trying to see if there is any market fit.

What is it? - An on-chain analytics platform

I do not have access to the software at the moment. I will try and get a lead page together to give a bit more detail/beta access as soon as I am in a position to do so.

The OP appears to be interested in licensing his software. As such, it would not really be possible to have a publicly facing GitHub repo. If he had one, anyone could clone his project and use his software for free.

OP could use dual licensing system (such as GPLv3 and propriety) where GPLv3 version only available as source code while propriety version provide compiled application and optionally more feature/support. But it's complicated and usually only big company who bother use such system.

P.S. I know dual licensing system is controversial on open source community.
Maybe. However a dual licensing system would more or less force the OP to keep the same features in his free version forever because the source code would be public. Also, a lot of software with "paid" features that also has a "free" version often has very useful additional features above the free version, however the work required to implement the additional features is minimal. So publishing the source code to a free version would potentially result in the OP seeing competing versions of his software from forks of his software that have the same features as his paid versions.
