Quite often we used to see lots and lots of meme on different sports. In recent days social media is much about the memes on New Zealand vs Afghanistan Cricket match and India supporting Afghanistan for a win. With this I believed one old incident of Indian Cricket Team. In 2003 worldcup India lost to Australia. Captain Ricky Ponting scored 140 runs out of 121 balls. The next day it was spread Ricky Ponting used a bat with spring inside. Only because of that he's able to score big and win the Cup. Very soon the finals is going to be a rematch. In any other sports similar incidents have happened.

I don't know much about this sport but as I understood, that flexible handle gives the player an enormous advantage over the other players. Is that right?

At least the mistake will be fixed after 18 years. Better than nothing.

Because I don't really know what made this case reappear and become a topic. I don't know the details yet, but does the suspicion come from the opponent? or indeed the investigative team at that time expressed their suspicions. The inspection should have been carried out from the start and gone through a layered stage. If this alone passes, it means a lot will be investigated. I think it should have been considered beforehand? Like a meeting of sorts by the committee, if it was allowed then ig there were some circumstances that called for it but if it wasn't, then shouldn't there be an official complaint of sorts about the legitimacy of the match and the result should have been nulled or something. Ig the rules were still flexible or just unsure? idk it isn't up to me to answer that since I wasn't there really. Though seeing as there isn't any announcement really, I guess it was considered legit but might just have barely dodged the rules tbh.

This is also common in other sports, even football is among, the match you thought to have been won will later be cancelled. I have not bet on this kind of match before, I do not know what rules do gambling sites have about this, but I believe the game is lost already as a result of some people that would have won and have withdrawn their profit. Shits like this do hapoen in sport very well.

Yes, just like you jump on spring and it pulls you up automatically, it will increase the speed of anything in contact with the bath and reduces time used to cover specific distance which will be a great disadvantage for the opponent and the opportunity to win.

This is to ignite the flame between the two competing teams and to make the fans curious, but in some way, cast doubts on the fairness of the officials back then, this should've been corrected before the start of the game, it's not good that the game starts with suspicious of cheating on one's team and doubts in the integrity of the officials and if there was cheating back then, then the officials should come out with an official statement that they will do better and they will not let the same incident from happening.

Wow means this really happening on sports ? anyway the rumor happens back in 2003 when the gaming event does not have high lens cameras with clear visions
but what about in our days now that there are dozens of cameras installed in every corner aside from the fans that has their High Tech cameras and gadgets that
keep filming the game , i believe that this kind of Bat(Spring to be specific) is noticeable and will never hide from the vision of thousands or millions of watchers.

But I am disappointing seeing this kind of cheating from one of the most popular sports .

This rumor should be corrected it puts the officiating at that time in a bad light and they are accusing the team of cheating which is not right if they cannot prove it, if they think they have cheated then they should have filed a protest back then and not coming up with a meme that disrespects the team back them, cheating is serious and should be addressed and not wait this long.

These kinds of rumors aren't invented by stupid people, but by professionals. It is thanks to invented scandals that the viewership of various events increases. Generating and spreading rumors has become a very popular marketing tool. I think that's exactly what it is like in this situation.

I've seen a lot of experiment like this on youtube, I don't remember the channel though. The spring bat has a sensor inside that detects even a smallest impact on it, then that will trigger the spring to hit back the force that made impact. So batters don't need to strongly hit the ball, they just need to swing the bat right at the ball and the spring bat will do the rest. But of course swinging big and hitting the ball at the right spot means the ball will be surely a overkill home run.

Spring bat was a nonsensical rumor spread by Indian media but the real fact was the usage of carbon graphite bat which provided extra power for the batsman while in contact with the ball. The same kind of graphite bat was used by former Sri lankan opener Jayasuriya as well! Moreover while I was representing my state from 2010s, I used a more expensive bat which costed $100-$150 which was even more powerful than the normal bats used at that time and hence I was able to score better.

I don't know the technical details of cricket bats, but even if there was some cheating, I'm sure that on the level of international sport it wouldn't just end with rumor. I am sure the National Federation would react immediately and it would be a big scandal.
This type of rumor right now can only be taken as a joke.

As you said these are all *Rumors* they are not something that we are sure about and therefore at the end of the day until and unless you do get an official statement about anyone or anything then you should not believe these rumors.

Plus is there any official news stating how The spring bat was used ? It's easy to blame anyone even tho I do support team India, I do not believe it's a good thing to discuss this and fuel these rumors.

I think, I will believe more on this story of yours, a bat with a strip of carbon graphite, with properties that can offer additional strength to the bat.
People sometime like to spread rumour without actually checking the veracity of the gossip.
Up until it will become like a tale in the sports industry. And not fully learning the facts and further spreading the false information.
But in the case of boxing, there were few instances that were really found out as cheaters like Margarito using plaster of paris powder on the wraps.

If they cannot prove the allegations and they resort to spreading lies and rumors, we can say that they have not accepted defeat and they are poor losers all these years, allegations should be backed up by pieces of evidence, people spreading lies and rumors can be charged with defamation.   

It happened in 2003 in a world cup and since this is a World Cup it cast doubts on the officiating of a big organization.
