Lost wallet password from 2017

In Nov of 2017, I moved my coin to a new wallet in Armory and like a n00b, did not print a paper backup. I do have the original OS where Armory has been installed since 2013 (Windows 7) and am hoping there are some clues to help with recovery efforts. My attempts at using btcrecover have not been successful yet but they continue no run on a modest hardware, but I am losing hope.

I messaged a developer yesterday and got a quick reply (thanks goatpig) and was told the best place to seek support is a new thread here. If anyone has other tips to assist, thank you in advance.

Why not open the armory and backup it again if it is still installed on your PC/Laptop?

You just need to switch from standard to expert you can find it under the user menu then reopen the Armory wallet again.
Now, click the wallet properties and then back up this wallet, and new tab pop up now you can able to create a paper backup.

If it has a passphrase and you forgot it then your last hope is to brute force the wallet.

Yes it has a lost passphrase and I am currently attempting brute force attacks. Is there anything salvageable from files on the OS that would provide clues to help me build another attack? I am thinking if I can narrow down the time and date I moved the coins I will be able to build a better tokens file. Or anything else from the OS drive that might help.

Armory's KDF is particularly resource intensive. Unless you can remember most of your password, you are unlikely to crack the wallet within your lifetime.

As the last resort, you can leave that to someone with specialized hardware and software for cracking passwords.
I'd recommend walletrecoveryservices for that: [Trustpilot] | Link and pricing.

But as goatpig said, even them wont have a chance to crack it if your "guess-passwords" are far from the correct one.

Thanks for the replies everyone. It's probably a lost cause as I don't remember much about the password. The most annoying part is I backed up the wallet that has .02 coins and not the one we're talking about. Oh well, life goes on.
