I wanted to share my experience with Stake Casino. Rather than typing something new I have just copied and pasted my thread on the Stake forum. I will probably add to it and I will answer any questions anybody has.

I just wanted to give everyone an update to why I have not played and why today I have asked for my account to be closed. I will skip everything up until about a month ago where I feel all my issues started. I had no problems with anyone here up until then. The only complaint I ever had was my RTP was simply much lower than I felt was right. So, about a month ago I had been on a four-month losing streak (around a million dollars in slots given back) and I had some questions for my host. My host was someone I didn’t expect a lot from when it came to answers as I got the “company” run around answers or “let me ask or look into it”. A lot of my important questions were unanswered. There was a day I was in Sports chat and Eddie’s name got brought up as I think he had just rained the room. During this someone had asked me if I had Eddie as a host and I said no. They said I should as he “takes care” of him. I asked a few questions about if getting a new host was simple and the norm and was told yes but half the room it seemed like. People went on to tell me they could send me his TG and contact information. In the meantime, I reached out to live customer support and asked them the process of switching to Eddie. They said they just talked to him, and he said to tell my host and she will switch me to him. I went back to sports chat and still had people asking if I wanted his contact. I told them what customer support had said and I was going to message my host but sure give it to me. I told them how to reach me. This got me a mute for about 10 minutes from chat. When I messaged my host, she said Eddie isn’t taking any new players. We went around and about for a day, and she finally gave me his email which I messaged. To say Eddie was helpful would be and exaggeration. Basically, all he cared about was wanting to know what my host did to me. After going in circles with Eddie and him eventually saying he would switch me, but it was a hassle I told him I will just stick with my host as I wasn’t playing for about a week waiting for this to all get fixed and I had taken all my money off the site. This was never meant to be this much drama. Everyone said it was common and easy. I messaged my host and told her lets try and move forward and forget the past, etc. I deposited some money back on to the site to play. A day later I get the message below from my host and this was confirmed as well when I couldn’t chat again and emailed customer support.

Did you receive any email message from us by any chance? 🤔

It seems your account is placed to withdraw only mode due to 2nd KYC level required. It's a very painless procedure, all you have to do is fill in data on this page:

(took this link out as it was a personal link)

After verification is successfully confirmed, your account will be fully active again.

Let me know in case you need any further assistance with this, please.

At this point I could not chat, tip, transfer money, etc. The only thing I could do was withdraw money. I reached out to Eddie where just like the first time he was lessthann helpful. I came to the website and was told at the very beginning my privacy would always be respected. If I wanted a website to go through levels of verification I would have gone to other places. If this is what is expected, then I should have just been told that and I would have not signed up. I was specifically told my privacy would always be respected. I still have no clue what created these issues, but my thought is it all started when I asked for a new host. Is my host this insecure? Likely. Also, I didn’t mention but around the time of my asking for a new host I had also banned myself from slot play. Did this play a part? Likely as well. Either way I will not be back this website, and this will not be the last of my story.

There are many things I want to go into but won’t here on this website as this might not even be shown. I plan on providing much more things and information to everyplace I know because I would not want this to happen to them. Stake can reply however they want and make this situation look like something it isn’t, but I have never had more than one account, never signed anyone up as an affiliate, never signed up as an affiliate, and never broke any rules. If stake can do this to someone who did what I did for the community, then don’t think they can’t and won’t do it to you or others. More to come about many things but away from this website. I will find other platforms to have my full story out which includes over 50 documents. If Stake wants to reach out to me, you know how to find me. To everyone playing on this site I wish you the best of luck and be careful. Take care.

* I will add more to this but at least wanted to start with this so people who might be looking into Stake under some of the thoughts I was don't run into the same issues.

the story sounded like someone got offended and wanted to make you suffer for it. I am not sure if this would help but I think you should contact stunna their representative here in the forum and tell him the whole issue. there's no guarantee if you'd get a response though. I am really curious what response would stake make(if they ever responded)

I suggest sharing the link of the thread from the forum stake. some members might consider this copy/pasted post as plagiarism.

Here you go. Unfortunate story for OP, if it was real. Guess we have to wait for take to put out the answers that they have for what exactly happened to OP's situation. If it was as you said, and was blatant revenge due to getting off on the wrong side of, well, probably the host, well the proof that OP could present should be enough to prove that he did nothing wrong and that it was all, well, revenge on him.

Ah, indeed everyone is addicted to gambling, if they lose the bet, it can make them frustrated and the shift is active, have you ever expressed your complaint in their thread (Stake), I doubt this thread of yours, because you wrote too long, maybe Stake will ignore this kind of thing.

I took the point in your thread.
To everyone playing on this site I wish you the best of luck and be careful. Take care.

It seems, you are not 100% disappointed, you are still hesitant to say something about your experience playing gambling on the Stake site, but it doesn't matter, I often see complaints like this, because you have lost and lost a bet, advice: if you play on other gambling sites hopefully you can win a lot for you, I hope you are happy elsewhere.

In your situation, I think KYC is inevitable since you mentioned that you risked a million overall in your account and I might be wrong here but stake has the right to ask KYC if they want to.

Then again, stake probably overlooked your account for quite a while as they could be lenient on certain rules and I also think that confrontation between your host and Eddie triggered the KYC.

I don't get frustrated if I lose a bet. I get frustrated if I feel I get lied to or people are dishonest. The moment the amount of a "gamble" upsets me I know it's to much. I use to tell everyone in the chat at Stake that were upset about losing that they are betting to much. They need to gamble in a way that if they lost it out of their pocket it would feel the same as if they went to the store and misplaced a penny. I'm not upset about any losses. I'm upset in the way I was treated and for what I feel was no reason. Also the fact that after losing x amount of money they turn my account off. Thanks for your feedback.

Based on their terms and conditions they sure do have the right to KYC. The issue I have with this is the way I found Stake was all of their paid streamers were pushing VPN and privacy etc regarding Stake. I even researched VPN's on youtube and one of the guys I watched was marketing a VPN and explaining how it worked on Stake's platform. Also I have many post from many people where host, Eddie and mods new they were in restricted areas. Even me being told my privacy would never be questioned. If you are going to build your business primary on VPN and privacy and allow me to sign up and then turn your eye when I start it seems a bit unprofessional that when I'm down a decent amount AND ban casino from my account you all of a sudden ask for KYC. There was also another player in chat that had been asked for level 3 KYC a day or so after me but yet he said he could still bet. Of course he could still chat as he was making these statements in the chat room. But they muted me from being able to chat with anyone on the platform. Thanks for your feedback.

More detailed information on how the KYC happened.

So here is a message to Eddie who I have been told is the co-founder or owner of Stake. This was when I found out my account had been locked.

My email to him(This was after I told him I got a message about KYC and he told me I needed to send in the information)

My issue is why this now? It seems as if another way of going in circles with me. I made it clear to you and the host if you don't want me playing here tell me. We got through things and now out of all the people you have I'm being asked to do level two verification? Out of all the people you guys want to just focus on me. Someone who just today gave your players in chat a couple thousand dollars, interacts with chat, plays alot of your website. All for what? Because I hurt someone's feelings asking to get a new host? ,A new host really? I had zero issues with anyone until then. Now it's this. The reason I played on this site is to be confidential. Your site and my host made it a point that is what this website was. If you are now telling me I'm treated different then thousands on your site(many who are streamers) then I guess you don't want me being a part of your website. Is this it? You are the co-owner do you really need my verification? If so why? How come now? Why not all the other thousands of people? So my account is locked from getting my money as well (just checked). Really?

(So basically a few things about my feelings on this post to him. This was 2 days after I had told him I would stick with my host and not take a change since he told me it was a hassle and not the easiest thing to do. I told him I would message her. I then put money back on the website to play and this happened less than 48 hours later. If I was an issue why not tell me when I was asking for a new host or before were my thoughts. Now for his reply.)

His Reply back:

It should take only a few minutes Smiley

Best,
Ed

So I have tried to get information to why this KYC has happened. I just get the above from Eddie or these responses from my host which are below.

My message when I found out about being muted:

Message I'm getting when I try and chat? Error
Sorry, your account is pending verification. Please contact support for further assistance.

Her message back:

After verification is successfully confirmed, your account will be fully active again.

My message:

Hello XXXX I have had many mixed emotions about this whole situation. I really don't know what to think. Its really come as a surprise. I was told this site was privacy friendly, etc. Now I have to provide sensitive information. Seems odd. I haven't talked to one person who has had to do this. Seems like the last couple weeks been a bit strange to say the least.

Her Message:

We only request it in certain situations when we locate potential breach of our ToS.
In those scenarios, as we are licensed site, we have to take necessary procedures required by our license provider. Everything we do is just to ensure our rules are properly followed.

My message:

Yeah I think customer support said something to that regards however nobody ever told me what was breached or what TOS was broken. I asked Eddie but didn't get a response regarding that. Does customer support tell me what terms or what TOS were broken?

Her message:

This has to do with the certain data linked to your account that is potentially breaching our ToS, that's why we had to request KYC to clear your account. Smiley It's really quick procedure, and of course, rest assured your personal information is not shared with anyone, only our compliance team would have info of it.

My message:(frustration building up)

What I find amazing is you have people who are needing level 3 verification and yet they are still betting and chatting. I will go along with its not personal. Just like all these messages I have seen to Eddie that people are saying where they are from, etc to him and nothing. Streamers as well. And also of mods saying the same thing and nothing. But I ask for a host change and all hell just all of a sudden breaks loose. I'm muted because I need verification? Makes sense to me. Not only do I need to be careful with the purpose of what some of these people are telling me and showing me I think others need to do the same thing as well. It doesn't look good when one thing is said and done to an individual that is not said or done to another person. If sending sensitive information to a website was something I felt (and many from chatting with them) comfortable with then I would have joined other online casinos. The thing that was an interest about Stake for me (and these others) was you did not have to worry about the headache of online casinos who dealt with banks and you did not have to worry about sending some random casino more information then you give to buy a business or home. I mean ID, Bank Statements, and how you make your money. LOL. Come on. Unreal. If Stake made it mandatory today to do those things you would lose 90% of your clients. Anyone would not just Stake. Anyways enjoy the rest of your day or night.

Her message:

You are not set on withdraw mode due to something you said, we've located really concerning data linked to your account due to which we had to take this measure. As we are licensed site, we have certain obligations we have to follow. And you are not muted, all actions on your account besides withdrawals are disabled. As for other players, for anyone that we locate breach of our ToS, measures are applied.

My message:

Concerning data my ass. I have one account, have never had more then one, never signed up under anyone, never signed anyone under me. I don't know (besides the TG I have from people who are on Stake) anyone on Stake. There is not a single thing concerning. I can't wait for you guys to find out your "concerning" information was BS and you did this to a player who gambled a shit load. Made it fun for members your website by running contest at my cost, etc. There isn't a damn thing that could be concerning except the fact that I used a VPN which is promoted on your website. So again I can't wait for this finding. The only thing concerning is why I'm being single out. That is it. Unreal. And by the way I am muted.

Her message:

You are not muted, you can't chat because besides withdrawals all other actions on your account are disabled. You can't place bet, can't receive tips, can't do anything other than withdrawing funds. Already explained you everything, you have links to certain data/transactions that breach our ToS. If you are not willing to cooperate and submit KYC, your account will remain on withdraw only mode.

My message:

"you have links to certain data/transactions that breach out ToS". I have not gotten these links. Are you referring to general TOS rules or did someone actually give me something they are saying that was breached. If so I did not see these. I would like to so that would be great to know what transactions or what ToS were breached. Thanks

Her message:

That's all the info I have, certain transactions you made require verification, and as stated in our ToS, point 6, if we deem necessary, we reserve the right to ask for any KYC documentation. I'm sorry, but if you'd like to use this account, you'll have to go through those steps.

She also added a picture of term number 6 that says Know your customer(KYC). So I just said sounds good to her as I knew it wasn't going to go anywhere. The whole main point regarding this KYC is Stake is full aware of many people playing in restricted areas. They have and had streamers on twitch that are. They have people on youtube promoting VPN's and how to use them to play on Stake. Even mods that work for them. They allowed my to gamble over 27 million. Others I'm sure more. They told me my privacy would always be protected. I even have a message from my host saying that if I do level 2 verification my bonuses are better but I will never be required as Stake respects its players privacy. So when you are told all of these and then you gamble what I did and they all of a sudden ask for the KYC it seems very personal. The only thing that changed in the two weeks leading to this was I asked for a new host, took my money off the site, and I banned casino from my account. Maybe it was the banning of the casino from my account. Who knows but to say it was random is silly.

To add salt to the wound. I received this a couple days after getting muted on the website and it being frozen.

Very likely I think.

I think that this should serve as a warning for everyone who wants to use Stake but don't necessarily want to undergo the KYC procedure. If you are risking a lot of money, they have the right and responsibility to do this on you.

But I also think that OP should probably summarise his post a bit if he genuinely wants a reaction from Stunna and other decision makers.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. The reasoning for my post is to share my experience on some of the more important things I think people want to know before joining an online casino. I have no desire to do business with any company who I feel deceives people into thinking something is a way its not. I'm just hoping that I can provide information that others can find useful before making a decision they might regret. It's already been proven the people at Stake have no desire or care about concerning issues to players. At least not mine. I will try and make my post shorter I just know I have been asked by quite a few people about the KYC and I didn't want to leave any details out. Again thanks for your thoughts.

Since you play slots I recommend bc.game they have good reputation on this forum and no KYC.
I don't think Stake will ever change their mind even if you lose millions there.

Well while this is a legit site to play (bc.game) yet OP is asking some question here and need to be addressed by Stake promptly .

But you make a good advice and Make Him play in different site and use this as hard experience to choose site that appropriate for Him.

While viewing stake's own thread is the following:
What I found strange from this most recent post on the stake announcement thread is another casino is offering bonuses for signing up thru their link to stake.

We have an exclusive bonus code for Stake.com!
Use bestbitcoincasino to get instant 10% rakeback.
More info here: https://www.bestbitcoincasino.com/news/stake-instant-rakeback/
Isn't that very peculiar? Embarrassed

They also have their own run-down on KYC policies pertaining to their own site, so it might coincide to what stake has been telling you is the reason for their asking for KYC all the sudden and locking your account.

Understanding KYC in Bitcoin Casinos

In the world of cryptocurrency, everything moves fast, and assets like Bitcoin have reached dizzying heights in the last few years. The first blockchain-based cryptocurrency is Bitcoin and is still the most popular cryptocurrency used. The best feature about bitcoin is it provides anonymity, but that’s where the confusion is. If one is supposed to remain and play anonymous using Bitcoin, then why does KYC hold significance.

One should know that the KYC process is designed not to disclose their identity but to protect them from hackers and fraudsters on such platforms. The anonymity is not from the casino but from gambling authorities and others from whom you may want to hide your identity. These security measures are designed to protect you and keep your bitcoins safe.

Might I ask what VIP rank are you on Stake?
They would probably ask for it once you reach a certain level such as Platinum II or III since you at that point you have wagered well over $750-$1million dollars their by now.
And they do have the casino industry rules to follow so not to lose their license for money laundering.

Playing on another gambling site may not make op win in my opinion for I do believe gambling company is gambling company and all of them are out to make profit. If op don't have the skills to make him or her successful since some casino are skill base then he can equally lost in any other gambling sites.

I'd be careful with the thinking that skill will someone effect the result of your gambling experience.  Sure, some people might know a little better how to play games then others, but I think the house will always have the edge no matter what.  Players should gamble with the expectation of having a good time and losing money.  That's literally what it's about.

As for stake, I've always been pretty impressed with their resolution of my issues.  I never even put in a bug report, just complained on their thread a couple of times about an issue and they resolved it.  From my experience, they go above and beyond for their customers.

We are all aware that the house do have advantage over players but is not at all time and that was why people are still wining in gambling and you not doubt the aspect of skills in gambling as that has helped some us and many other people who are skilled in gambling.

I gamble for entertainment purposes only as I know its a losing proposition. However when signing up with Stake from all the streamers, ads, and people at Stake I was led to believe one thing and their actions was another. This after losing what some would consider alot of money.  Also I really feel many who sign up to Stake are under the impression KYC is not asked of. My point to posting is to explain to anyone who is thinking about joining Stake and feel as if they will never be asked for KYC they are not correct. Thanks for your feedback.

I didn't have any issues with stake pretty much the whole 5 months or so I was on there. It all started when I asked to change host. I know it might seem odd that could cause anything but I can assure you they had no issues taking 50k from me a month and they had no issues with me giving their chat community 5k a month. When I asked for a new host and banned casino from my account it seemed like stake turned into another company towards me. I just hope with your stake logo if you are getting people involved you are telling them the risk of KYC. I can assure you most who think of Stake will think their privacy is respected. Take care.

Two issues that I want to clear up:

Quote
The only complaint I ever had was my RTP was simply much lower than I felt was right. So, about a month ago I had been on a four-month losing streak (around a million dollars in slots given back) and I had some questions for my host.

Do you understand how probability works?

So long as the games are provably fair you shouldn't have reason to suspect that a decade-long operation will try to rip you off, just because you had a bad losing streak.

Quote

I mean, you did sign up agreeing to their ToS which indicates that they can ask for KYC whenever they want?

About a week ago I emailed support and Edide and asked both of them to shut my account down. I didn't get a reply from either. Now this might be because they don't have to but common courtesy is to reply back? Or is it only common courtesy when they are taking your money on RTP machines paying around 48%? Either way its not playable but for them to ignore my request just further shows the character of the company.

has your account been shut down when you sent them the request in their email? if not, then, there is a possibility that they still haven't seen your request. and yeah, I agree, that they should have at least replied back even with the issue going on between the two of you.
