Hey guys!

Is there anyway how I can check if the contract address is ledgit or not?
For the Uniswap pool when providing liquidity?

Thank you!

There's a way to check it but this might be a bit complicated for you but if you wanna get the easiest way to check it and then you should go to the CMC and then search what coin that you are looking for. You can check it whether the contract already audited by auditors like certik and hacken or not. That's to make sure that if the smartcontract didn't contain suspicious code like self-destruct function and backdoor to be used to take all of liquidity.
You can try another way like try to copy and pasting the smartcontract address on etherscan and you will be seeing the smartcontract code tab but it's better to use the first step consider smartcontract audit platform like hacken and certike have very good reputation among the smartcontract users and so many platforms have been using certik and hacken to audit smartcontract. You didn't need a complicated way to check the smartcontract and that can save a lot of your time.

Aside from listed on coinmarketcap and coingecko even audited projects still fail to identify safety of such protocol. Sometime it can be by-pass by some tricky developers. Auditors are good but we can't simply say ti's a perfect checker for all projects.

But for simple check up the explanation of asriloni is enough to filter this out. Coding is really a headache and investors should at least consider that before even trying squid game.

Sounds like a great idea!
But for example wrapped ETH
0xc02aaa39b223fe8d0a0e5c4f27ead9083c756cc2

Can't really find anything (for sure it's audited?)

And is there a way before we do the transaction (to check if it's ledgit)
https://app.uniswap.org/#/add/0xC02aaA39b223FE8D0A0e5C4F27eAD9083C756Cc2/0xA0b86991c6218b36c1d19D4a2e9Eb0cE3606eB48/3000

To provide the liquidity that we for example don't pick up a fake domain of uniswap and a fake lp contract:

It's good that you have the do not trust, veryfy approach but it sounds foolish for anyone to audit the native token of the Ethereum network. What @asriloni is talking about are projects asking the services of third parties like Certik (for a fee) to try and prove their legitimacy to the community. ETH/Wrapped doesn't need that.

If you're still worried that there would be a fake WETH, you can also look at the volume of transactions.

I agree more with the above, taking a negative approach first, for example using a search engine by typing the contract address ending with the keyword "scam". Or match the contract on the official website where the token is issued.

Reduce relying only on aggregator sites like CMC for verification. Sometimes they also display wrong information. One of them I found here.

What I highlight are different entities.

You can at least track its history if you're feeling difficult to find that whether WETH was fully audited or not and the answer is it's fully audited.

Most importantly, the source code for the proposed WETH contract has been thoroughly audited.
WETH was fully audited and monitored by so many reputable parties. You can read the article to know who's those parties.

If you're feeling worry about fake uniswap and then you should go to the official page of uniswap and then bookmark it. If you're also worrying about the contract and then you can check it directly on etherscan. It may take only a few minutes to make sure that's legit and it's not fake.
