Hello, I have a token and I want to swap it to the Tether. When I checked the "Market" section in the CoinMarketCap website, then I see a "N/A" in the Confidence section for all exchanges. I have two questions: 1- What does this "N/A" mean? 2- If I want to swap my tokens to another tokens or coins, then does this process depend on the exchange?
Thank you.

1. It either means that there's no liquidity, or the liquidity is low enough that they couldn't give an estimation. I'm guessing that the token you're planning on selling is has a really low marketcap?
2. Of course. You swap it on the exchange, so it will depend on it. Or am I missing something?

You may try to use to use decentralized services like UniSwap, Pancake, sushi and so on. They are not exactly exchanges... they are decentralized exchanges. If you are using ethereum network, such as Uniswap, the fees will be incredibly high (such as 100-200 usd per transaction). You cannot trade bitcoin in those services, just tokens and native coins of those blockchains. Sometimes you can trade wrapped bitcoin tokens, which are basically 1:1 bitcoin stable coins (not much safe imo)

When you swap on DEX, the available liquidity is matter. If it is low and the amount of capital you want to use for that swap is big, you will lift the price up a lot. It is why people like CEX because they can have high liquidity. Also they won't have to bear of slippage on DEX. On the other hand, DEX is good because it allows you to control your private key or mnemonic seeds. You are actually control your coins, not the exchange.

Yes decentralized exchange does the work. Either the tokens you are going to swap ( not paired with liquidity) still it's gonna execute the transactions. But this is provided that there is a main liquidity for that token with one at least so the AMM would work to trade it for you. I've always doing this, if I want to redirect my coins to a new one without having to transact to its actual pair. Only one transaction but of course the system will show two with different fees on both.

1- What does this "N/A" mean? It either means "Not Applicable" or "Not Available" This is common in case of decentralized exchanges. So in your tokens case, the confidence score for that particular market and exchange wasn't available. It doesn't matter because the volume is reported from a DEX.

So in your tokens case, the confidence score for that particular market and exchange wasn't available. It doesn't matter because the volume is reported from a DEX. It could also mean "not assessed" where the team didn't report during the reporting date due to lack of data. Reporting something like that won't give a result so the status of the confidence score would be N/A but most likely the meaning is either "Not Applicable" or "Not Available".

Thank you.
Not every coin have the desired trading pair even if its a coin or token with high market cap and trading volume. So if you can't find the direct pair of x token into USDT then you may have to convert multiple times which is 'x' token => 'y' token => USDT, so it depends on the exchange as well as the token you are going to trade.

For 2nd, yes it does depend on exchange, if you can let us know which token, we'll be able to help better. cmc/coingecko tend to have requirements until which are not met, they don't list.

I believe the requirement is only for listing a coin/token or a new exchange in first place not a market. If a certain token doesn't show any markets that means either the market doesn't exist (nobody trades that shittoken anywhere) or the lazy CMC owners haven't listed it.

Hello, Thank you for your reply. The token was https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum-meta/ and as you see all exchanges are "N/A". The price was high and I couldn't swap it.

What error toy encountered while trying to swap? I haven't used pancake/traderjoe but I believe you will need to have some bnb for pancakeswap and avax for traderjoe -these are native chain tokens which are needed on these dexes to function. Although, you can't directly swap to tether, swap to bnb first (if you gonna use pancakeswap) and then bnb to usdt.

Can you copy the contract address of ethm token you have? https://etherscan.io/ > enter your address > token > ethm > copy address under 'contract'
