Other smart contract platforms were doing massive marketing and campaign to attract the new developers to come it and they can keep it up with the latest trend that happened in the market but that's different with tron. This platform was using marketing as a way to survive without think about how to compete with another smartcontract platform. You can ask justin why he needs to waste a lot of money for zero results. People are moving toward the new blockchain instead of using this blockchain. which means tron is less popular compared with another blockchain project like solana and DOT.
I remember that when tron has become a new platform by ethereum users to migrate but tron dev can't even bring something new to make the users will not move to the somewhere.
people didn't care anymore with this blockchain. Will tron become another EOS? we will see the result soon.

It's not like Tron is the only crypto that hasn't been pumped to the moon and beyond like Doge or ETH have, just look at LTC, XRP, XLM, they've had about the same growth as TRX in the last year or so (+300-360%). Perhaps a combination of word-of-mouth and free publicity from social media influencers plus fresh new capital from newcomers have had a bigger influence in the price of some classic alts (like dogecoin) and new projects (e.g. solana) than in other classic, well-established coins like Tron or Litecoin.

But this is just conjecture, it's really hard to pinpoint the exact reason for X thing in the cryptosphere.

TRON is a coin that deserves to be in the top 10, I held TRON for almost a year and haven't sold it because the profit is still small, we are all waiting for TRON to explode like DOGE or Cardano but I prefer to be patient waiting for surprises and go up slowly because if it goes up too fast then This is a characteristic of the instantaneous pump.

if it is was possible to know out rightly when the next pump of a coin would be, everybody will be buying a shit load of that coin in preparation of the upcoming pump, but it is not as easy as you want it,
if you are not able to determine when the next breakout will be buy using some ta tools (still not 100% guarantee)  then you can as well be holding for as long as you can for whenever that will happen, hopefully it will be soon since the market is expected to experience another bull this month to next.

If i remember correctly then there was a quite similar thread a few days or a week ago in here. I would say that the mean reason why Tron has not pumped yet while a lot of other projects are having rising prices is the fact, that it is just not in the focus of the people at the moment and if there is no one aware of a project then no-one will buy it. Therefore tron is one of those older coins that are not able to reach their ATH of the 2018 bull-run even though the total market cap is way higher than back in 2018. I think Tron needs to deliver sooner or later and bring some functionality to their ecosystem in order to grow in price, otherwise they will become irrelevant.

maybe it's not their season.? actually TRX still make pumps and dumbs but not the same with other cryptos that breaking all time high and really showing good performance, perhaps it's not yet their turn to show a good performance. In fact at this current situation trx is making consolidation at the support level ,so it means there's a possibility of break out and to restest the current resistance.  If you're a holder just be patient because this coin is very promising as well since the very first start.. Probably OP trying to express this in general, that most famous cryptocurrency already pump so much whereas tron just pump a bit or not at all.

One reason is Justin just promoting nonsense for tron (for me) without having improvement of the project and just squandering money to other projects not on tron, many existing crypto moved already to other blockchain or use other blockchain aside eth due to their advantage, but I didn't heard about some move to tron network. Besides, trx is not well accepted on most cryptocurrency exchanges than its competitions, so...

Why not tron?

There's something wrong with tron. Im also feeling curious why the whales didn't even pay attention with this one. some people have been discussing about this since a few months ago and that's only a small pump that happened with tron coin. Im thinking about tron has less usability compared with another token. This day crypto is still getting impact by the bad news that came from evergrande but if you're seeing from the quarter chart and the tron was only moving slowly. That's different with another coin in the same field like BNB, SOL, ADA, and DOT.

In hearing it from my friends if more and more people abandoned tron blockchain. Stable coin like USDT is the thing that was helping tron a lot caused by so many people are still using it right now.
I rarely seen successful dapps built in the tron platform. It seems like the same thing happened with NFT and game fi as well. This make people less interested to collect tron as their potential long term investment.

Honestly, I like the cheap fee of tron but it's not enough for it to get that much demand just like the others.

I don't like the marketing that has Justin been doing and I think he's quite passive these days and never heard that much publicity that he's been doing.

This could be a possibility, otherwise I don't believe why would tron leave behind it's advantage of headstart and cheap fees and give up the competition against new players. Transactions on Tron defi are technically free, they have had a good success with gaming defis and everything were going great. But BSC came as the leader in sidechain solution and others followed. I did hold up tron and btt in a significant amount for a long time but was compelled to sell them at negligible profit as I still don't see it's price moving in next few months.

I just would say it is time to buy more Tron now that it is still struggling. I think Tron has a launchpad, that is possible to grow Tron network. Waves was down like that for long but has now raised, stellar too has started growing. I won't be surprised if Tron start getting into the eyes of buyers very soon maybe around 2022.
