I'm lucky to have a link to this fight on Facebook the fight will be starting in a few minutes as I'm writing this post, I hope it will not be taken down, I miss Golovkin fighting we'll now see if he is still worth fighting Canelo again for their trilogy. GGG vs Murata LiveDang, it's no longer available. And it seems the supporting bout is also proceeding from what I read from news and maybe the GGG vs Murata is next already. Good luck to all bettors here, but I'm routing for GGG to win so that he will have his trilogy with Canelo also this year.

The link is still up, I'm surprised by Murata's performance he is the aggressive one and he is landing punches those body punches by Murata are hurting GGG we may see a big upset here based on my card Murata is leading in almost all the rounds this is a very interesting fight, Murata can take a punch and it's surprising

It looks like we will have a chance to see the trilogy another classic GGG performance, his opponent is exhausted and he cannot keep up, his corners threw in the towel for a 9th round win for GGG, Murata is great in the first phase of the fight but after five rounds it's all Golovkin. This fight has proven that GGG has an iron chin he eats up all Murata's punches, at 40 Golovkin still has it to do another round against Alvarez.

I thought Murata can keep up he is moving forward and hitting Golovkin a lot but Golovkin just absorbed it all and he tires Murata with a lot of head punches, both fighters have given everything but Murata is not tested to this kind of fighter who just eat his punches, Golovkin really has a strong chin, we'll now wait for the outcome of the Canelo - Bivol match for the boxing community to push the trilogy.

GGG successfully win against Murata, not thru an exact KO but Murata's team throw the towel as a sign of giving up the fight.
The trilogy with Canelo Alvarez is now getting in shape and the thing left for now is for Canelo to win the upcoming fight with Dmitry Bivol next month. Feel sorry for those who risk betting at Murata as for me, I really can't take that risk even if it was a homecourt for Murata. This GGG never gets old.
Excited now to see the clash between Canelo and GGG. What a wonderful gift on GGG's birthday.

They are both already past their prime.
That one I do not agree with for GGG, he has not lost a fight since 2019, in fact, his only loss is against Canelo who is a great fighter and that one was still controversial until now, so I think there's no basis for calling GGG has passed his prime. Just for the record, there's a period when we called a boxer in his prime or not. At around 39 to 40 years of age, it should be obvious that we can call a boxer out of his prime. Don't get me wrong, being out of their prime doesn't mean they are truly weak. It's just that, don't expect their performance will be the same as during their prime. Don't tell me you still consider GGG in his prime? If GGG will be able to win against Murata, it does mean he is still in good shape but we can't consider it as a win during his prime. His 2019 fight is remarkable because he was already in a veteran period at that time but still manage to put Canelo in a difficult fight. If only he meet Canelo during his prime, he will win it without a doubt. Good point and I admit that you're correct about that. I mean, that doesn't surely mean that GGG is already weak and will only experience defeats along the way because of the fact that he's already 40 years old and already not on his prime. However, Murata even in age of 36 years old, he cannot really defeat GGG but I don't doubt that he can give a good fight as he is also a champion. If indeed, prime GGG have met with Canelo. For sure, Canelo will struggle to keep up with GGG's dancing style.

At last! After a long time of chasing and calling for a 3rd fight and now it's already nearing to reality as GGG already have his key for the upcoming trilogy against Canelo Alvarez, a wonder gift for GGG indeed! GGG may have been started slow on this fight but it's worthwhile to observe Murata's movement and later on the 6th round, he already have the control of the fight and ends with a TKO. For those who didn't see the live showdown, DAZN already posted a video on some highlights every round. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOfBCLjnoy8

Murata wins in the early rounds. He did lots of good connections and lots of punches are hitting directly on GGG's face and chin. However, what a sturdy face that GGG has. His strong chin and build are a product of his good overall boxing experience.
Even Murata was able to connect some good punches and successfully land a blow, it seems GGG is already used to receiving it and no signs he will fall down.
Murata's stamina deteriorates while the fight is lasting longer. He is 36 years old after all. But GGG, man alive, he is really dangerous and out of the league with Murata. With that win, there's no choice for Canelo but to face GGG for the third time.

Ok so much for the GGG is way past his prime argument, he has proven again that age is just numbers in this fight.
Although he has struggled in the beginning, but once he has into his grove, and rhythm you can see the old version of himself. Now, it's Canelo's turn to beat Bivol and set up that trilogy fight in September which is going to be the biggest for this year in terms of money and hype.

GGG needs a strong puncher for him to feel the punches land on him. Only Canelo could match him, both GGG and Canelo have solid chins and bodies so the fight will go to the distance, and once again it will be up to the judges to score the fight. Murata is good, but he fought a great fighter which definitely is on a different level.

Murata is good in the early rounds, he is the more aggressive one I thought GGG will have a long night in that will be the pace but it turns out Golovkin will be better as the fight progresses as Murata gassed out in the later rounds. I think age is showing up on Golovkin's performance his strong chin and the ability to take punches are proven in that fight the Canelo fight will now seal his legacy as he is getting older I have this feeling that the Canelo fight will be his last fight.

Lost my bet on that one as I thought that Murata will be going to give GGG a hard time in his comeback but I'm totally wrong as the latter still got some fight in him. We have to admit that GGG is not the fighter that we used to see in his prime and if his trilogy with Canelo pushes through then I think he would lose. Canelo's turn now so that their trilogy with GGG will be sealed, his task is a little easier than that of GGG I think.

We'll have to see that and maybe we will have a big surprise like this fight, I just noticed that GGG is kinda slow and those body punches coming from Murata have an impact on Golovkin's movement. I used to see GGG making marks on his opponents in the early rounds but on this one he has a lot of misses, in the latter rounds GGG hit the target, not because of the speed of his punches but it's because of Murata's lack of head movement and weak defense, Murata is an offensive fighter but when he needs to defend, he lacks the skill to do it.

Exactly, not much head movement from Murata that lead to his destruction. Also, the body shots of Murata seemed to have affected GGG in the early rounds that is why I'm saying that GGG would lose to Canelo because the latter is more of a body punches and moves a lot which he could hit if we based our speculation on his fight last night but we knew that their team will adjust but with him at 40 years old, preparation in the gym with regards to that aspect will not work on him anymore IMHO.

Yeah, the body shot was very effective early for Murata, and maybe the ring rust affected GGG early that's why he seems to be can't get off. But once he started to get hot and feeling it, from round 5 onwards, it's all GGG. But I don't think this version of him can beat a prime Canelo and it will be a brutal beating from the hands of Alvarez if they are going to face in the trilogy.

On the contrary, we have seen signs of his old age or GGG is past his prime already. He is weak on the body and I would say although he knock down Murata, the power is not there anymore. It was an accumulation of punches that took Murata down and not a one punch knockout. I'd say that he is weak in the body because you can see that he covers it more than any other fight. If Canelo can hit that, specially he has one of the deadliest body punch, maybe GGG can't go and last a full 12 rounds against Canelo.

Yes, most likely the trilogy will going to happen now as GGG won over a game Murata. I do agree that GGG has one of the most durable chin in that division, but it seems he has been exposed by Murata - body shots. I'm not totally sold on the performance of GGG, I think he needs to go back in the gym again and work on his stamina because Canelo is like a well oiled machine. If GGG himself gets tired in this fight and started slow against Canelo, it will be a hard fight for him to win.

We can only speculate they are already met twice so they know what to look on their opponents, but what I noticed in this fight is he is slow very slow now, very slow compared to his last few fights maybe because of the age or strategy, the third match could be very different this time Canelo will be the heavy favorite but I'm not counting out GGG yet, his chin is a big factor, and he is a good candidate to beat Canelo compared to the present crop of challengers.

Maybe because of the long layoff he has? almost 2 years of not fighting so he is somewhat looked very slow and sluggish and vulnerable at the body. True, Alvarez will be the heavy favorite if they fight. There's no way that GGG will be, based on his performance tonight. Very slow, breathing heavy if he gets hit by a punch in the body. And I will grade his performance like 6-7 in the scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest.

Yup, GGG was too slow in his fight with Murata but fortunately for him, Murata was much slower than him that's why he had some success in the later rounds as the accumulation of punches on the head has taken its toll on Murata. I would say that his chance of beating Canelo is so slim not like in the first and the second fight where the odds are almost even.
