Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?

Hello everybody. I think everyone who has ever been involved in cryptocurrency investments is interested in the question of how to protect themselves from scams and loss of money. Recently I learned about the CheckDot project, which creates a platform with which it will be possible to get an assessment of any project in the blockchain world. In theory, this way you can get rid of a lot of scams, but does it help?

What do you think, is it possible to somehow get rid of scams among crypto projects?

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Getting rid scam is highly impossible. But prevention can do the trick. Many newbies are getting scammed so how do you plan to help them out. Complete guidance, reminder and all warnings. We can do that here in forum, the problem is those people arent paying attention on the details and somehow they take that for granted and ending up losing funds.

I think only in an ideal world, I also think that a decline in different areas is possible, since the most profitable fraud is in what is most popular, in the case of crypto, I believe that it has not even reached its peak yet

No, it won't help. Just like Icobench and other 'rating' platform. There's no one-for-all solution for this, you just need to keep your due diligence in check. Even if the platform does work, it shows that you still rely on another party to decide which one is 'legit' and not, which is definitely not ideal. Say, it works for a year or so, but then they decide to go full cash grab by recommending dubious project. You'll end up losing money too.

Its so easy to prevent, just always keep in mind to always make research if someone offer you something around the internet or you need something especially when it comes buying stuff and etc. Be aware! Specific information is a must wherein never trust anyone remember that. . Don't easily fall to anything such what you see around the internet because that's how its start or should i say most common mistake of newbies..  So be smart or stay away instead for your safety.

It's not as if they're shitcoins or projects. It happens that way because there's always slippage set on every project on pancakeswap, whether you're selling or buying. Some of these tokens have slippage as high as 12% when you're selling but they keep some of them as low as 0.05 when you're buying. It's crazy, I know but it's a way of getting commission out of trades. Sometimes I feel shortchanged when I do trades there. But it's a Dex and I'm sure every tokens I have there are entirely mine and can't be tampered with from the outside.

I am sure the value of the meta token will be very less and when you buy it on the pancakeswap, it will detect some fee in the form of slippage charges and you will get less quantity of coins. So you cannot consider this as a scam.

Yes, projects are made to scam people and common example of those are rug pulling or removing the liquidity. Too many unlocked token with the development team and project owners is another way of scam as they can dump on us anytime.

What do you think, is it possible to somehow get rid of scams among crypto projects?
Of course, platforms to verify projects can help, but the verification process itself will take time and won't be 100% correct either. So I don't think you can get rid of scam completely, but it could be worth the effort to reduce their numbers.

Only carefully investing in any project can help you get rid of scams because it will not be easy to put your money into any project before you know more about it. It could be possible to get rid of many scams using that project but I doubt that they can know which project will scam you as it is hard to detect the scam and the real projects. The scammers are too smart to get your money and they can run away with your money without you realize.

No, it's not possible to completely get rid of scams, that's part of the risk when you are investing as they could look legit during the crowd sale but we never know what they would do after they collect the amount they needed to start the project.

The thing is, crypto is a high risk market, so even if you are too careful, you cannot perfectly choose to invest on legit projects only, that's why you also need to learn how to manage the risk and that is by diversifying your investments.

Yes you're right. eliminating scammers is highly unlikely, but preventing them is something that can be done. everything you say can be done in this forum, it's just that many of them are not thorough and easy to believe. this is very difficult to overcome, because almost 90% of scammer victims are those who are newbies and don't know much about crypto. if only newbies don't trust easily and want to find out in more detail, all this can be done easily.

It's not possible. The scammers will always exist forever. You didn't even know how much scammers that exist in the crypto market these days. This is an impossible thing to happen. If we can do that and we have been wiped out all of these scammers but we can't.

I got your point, you want people to talk about check dot. The more thread you created with your accounts and people will have bad impression with your check dot project. I have been seeing so many new threads being created as for promotional thread for check dot. This is horrible. You were destroying the reputation of your project indirectly. You were spamming it anywhere and that proves that if your project called check dot has bad reputation.

Do you think it is possible to completely get rid of scams?

Honest answer, yes! I have been investing in cryptocurrencies since 2011 and I have never been a victim of scams*. For one very simple reason: before I invest, I look closely at the projects and do not believe promises made by others.
* This refers to projects in which I have invested money. However, especially in 2017 I have received some bounties that turned out to be scams afterwards. But here I have not lost money, but only a little time.

Wow, that's impressive, maybe I should give more time making research because I sometimes became a victim of scams. About bounties, yes, 2017 until early 2018 was the year where bounty hunting was really profitable, and just like yours, I also ended losing some of my rewards as they never recover after a long bear market, in fact until now they are just sitting in my wallet.

I don't think that scammers will cease their occupation as it can be very profitable I think. So we should be very careful when investing and investigate projects. I think that checkdot will be a good platform to get to know about different projects and decrease your losses, but still it can't  completely shield us from scams, as it will accumulate information picked up by people, so I think that it will not be very much information about unpopular and new projects.

Not investing in new projects is like avoiding scams. If you only invest in projects that are already listed and you just wait for thier dips I guess that's safer than joining the ICOs.  But if you are up to playing being one of the early birds in investing in new projects in hopes to make money, it could backfire like the ones who did with Squid tokens.

I was one of those who send ETH during 2017. Although I don't really spend a huge amount, the ETH that I have sent may be more today in short I was still scammed.
SO trusting because the team has been interviewed on youtube channel, I didn;t expect they are that bold in scaming investors.

Recently I learned about the CheckDot project, which creates a platform with which it will be possible to get an assessment of any project in the blockchain world. In theory, this way you can get rid of a lot of scams, but does it help?
The idea of the CheckDot platform is unique and I hope that it will be a deterrent weapon to protect us from scams I think it will reduce scams but not by 100%. Scammers may provide false positive opinions about a scam project to deceive the crypto community, so we have to do our research in addition to relying on this wonderful platform Which will help us see people's opinions and hidden information about any project.

What do you think, is it possible to somehow get rid of scams among crypto projects?
We cannot get rid of scams, because the traps of scammers are many and they don't end, so any investor must be smart and vigilant about his investment in a project and not rush to choose a project without studying it well and seeing people's opinions about this project.

As for me, it isn't possible but you could always find ways to get rid of it. Doing a series of research would be an advantage and being observant and skeptical has an edge. Just keep in mind that not everything that we read on the internet about a certain coin is true so doing follow-up research is still necessary.

However, we must be careful in reading the information about coins because not everything on the internet is true,
doing research will always be important even if it takes time,
The most important thing is that we must be able to sort out which is credible information and which is hoax information
