A positive evaluation of gambling.

I particularly like the first points and on reflection I think I have developed these traits
and only since I came to the gambling board. While I wouldnt be a big gambler
and only playing with an initial pot of 1mbtc I am able to keep my gambling in check,
assess the risk and if a bet doesnt work out, move on constructively while staying
positive and assessing the next risk.

Two more I could add:

Moderation - like almost everything in life we should moderate our activity and
balance that with other tasks and hobbies.

Patience - everyone in the crypto (Bitcoin) space should be well versed in
practising patience and realising it all doesnt have to happen today.

If we can create a balance between all these positive traits and habits it should only
lead to positive results.

For me the first and second point really make sense because in my own experience I'm a type of a person who is afraid to take a big risks in my life and sometime it's hard for me to move on especially if it has a huge impact so I can relate on it. As a gambler it really help a lot of having the ability to quickly let go of the things, let go of failure and move on and try again but in myself I always set a limitation and practice moderation, many of the negative side that we heard about gambling is because these people were too much engaged and forget to practice moderation in their gambling activities.

It's not gambling that can build your character but it's important that you have a good and strong character if you are going to gamble, you cannot justify that you are gambling because you want to develop a good trait, it's like justifying why you are spending and losing a lot of money, I prefer to look at gambling as it is and that is to get entertain, and spending more money and time will lead you to lose money and time.

Out of the dark clouds having a silver line shows the possibility of success out of gambling. The hard part everyone can't be on the silver line. Gambling is all about fun, and to stay safe setting our limits is a must.

Gambling can be compared with the cryptocurrency market, because if our calculation have gone against our prediction we might end up losing. Once after losing, out of stress should not take decisions to recover the loss. This will make you go for investment on shitcoins. Same as that one should not loss patience once after losing, because lack of patience will force the user to spend big. If lucky the recovery happens else it'll be a big loss.

The character that we had before must be really strong because in any gambling it can change if we can't control it, then about the real character that must be able to animate where when playing gambling it remains normal and not influenced by its emotional style, sometimes people judge it because it can but all we can do according to our own control.

I see friends around me who have good character lost due to misdirection in gambling, meaning they can't control the passions that they put forward, and make their real character disappear.

I didn't realize it until I read this thread of yours so I really appreciate the efforts of sharing it with us especially the gamblers in this community. When I lose my bet in sports, I am not that mad anymore or stressed out the whole day because of it. I just let it go and try again tomorrow. 
It's somehow funny when I remember it. I didn't think there will be a positive side to gambling, not that I gambled way far.

If we learn from small mistakes and see changes for the better, it's very positive. However, there are reasons why gambling is banned in many places around the world. Unfortunately, many people do not see the negative effects of gambling and it is very dangerous for them. My point is that such people can get addicted easily and then unfortunately it is very negative.

Good findings.The problem though is that only a few people and few gamblers apply the skills unconsciously developed by gambling in their real life scenarios.If a lot of them would implement those skills in their real life scenarios surely we would see much more successful people than we already know.

Still though a good topic and most probably I would make this one sticky here if I were a moderator so that many other gamblers can see this and keep those skills in mind and try to apply them in different real life scenarios.

I would argue that not many gamblers develop those positive aspects to begin with, and the reason is that since the majority see gambling as a source of entertainment and not as a way to learn anything about themselves then most of the time they they will learn nothing from their experiences, it requires a person with some tendencies towards self-reflection for this to happen naturally, but still gambling can be a way to develop some skills that will help you later in other aspects of your life as long as you keep your eyes open and learn from your gambling experiences.

Cant really be avoided on why most people do really think off that gambling is always been a bad thing which i couldnt really blame them off yet most of the time we are seeing off with negative effects most of the time and wont really tending to see the other side or simply with good things. It isnt really that bad if you do know on how to control up yourself and on what perception you do have

From self evaluation and the evaluation of a few gamblers around me, i have observed that over time due to gambling activity, some characters worthy of emulation have been unconsciously developed by some.

Some of the characters that i have observed from the life of a few core gamblers around me and myself are;

-Development of Risk taking ability; to win big in life, you must be willing to try, and gamblers have so developed their risk taking ability.

-Development of the ability to quickly let go of things and move on; Dwelling on the past and the possibility of "what could have been" is really not healthy and it can weigh you down and distract you from "what can be". Though not so easy, gamblers have developed this ability to easily look ahead from the "near win" of yesterday, to try again today.

-Positive mentality (that is always believing that everyday we gamble, it may just be our lucky day for the big win).

- Consistency/ Not quiting attitude; Always trying regardless of  previous results.

If you see yourself as a gambler, i implore you to put yourself in perspective and please share any positive trait that has been developed in your life as a result of gambling.

Not a good ability, it is a way to addiction. This was what was happening to me when I was addicted. Now I am using the money I will not even think about if I lose it to gambling because I use very little amount of money that is affordable for me. If I lose just that chicken chnage, I am still happy.

I do not like this idea of positive thinking when talking about gambling, there are much more positive think with gambling addicts, they are losing but having more positive thinking to hit the jackpot, but they continue to lose more and more until the positive thinking got them into trouble.

Gambling is not about positive thinking, it is about learning how to balance it with normal life in a way it will not affect our normal life and not getting addicted.

Really gambling is mischaracterized.   I see gambling as risk evaluation and sure its shown as a game but some of the games in a casino are also taught within Maths lessons during probability theory studies, a subject hundreds of years old.    The main thing that is incorrect is to have people borrow money in some way to spend, straight away thats a negative because this is a game and to borrow is incorrect but thats true for every leisure activity dont spend money you havent got and nothing to do with the risky part.   Some people should stay away from gambling its true but thats a lesson required on a few things in life, drinking all sorts some should avoid.

I agree in order to develop good characters of out of gambling first we need to be capable of learning out of anything. Addicted gamblers will never mind about learning anything while they are gambling. Such type of gamblers will keep on gambling regardless of whatever outcome they are facing so when they are not focusing anything outside from gambling then you cannot expect them to be developing good characteristics from their activities.

Overall, the positive evolution of gambling is possible only for the gambler who are all open to learning. If you ignore everything then there will be no room for any of positive things.

Addiction is a serious matter so I'm glad you are out of that situation.
Not many people can overcome such situation. Maybe, for the wrong approach how to address their problem.
There are positive attitudes that you can get from gambling, but you should know when to stop and how to use it, and not get too deep in this habit.

It's refreshing to see someone talking about gambling positively because sometimes people forget that although there are lots of negatives of gambling but eventually it's meant to be a fun activity where if you gamble in control and within limits, you will never have any issues with it.

I completely agree with the development or risk-taking ability point because while gambling we start taking risks and learn how sometimes to win you need to risk something. Now again, what's important is to make sure you are not risking more than you should have.

Not sure about the not giving up attitude because actually because after gambling for a long period of time, you get in such a state of mind where you don't care if you win or lose and you don't react much either.

People ultimately need to identify what they want from gambling to be content. Some people are super intelligent and play games like poker, where they are able to eek out a small edge over the long term against the house and many other players, based on skill. Other people are content with gambling for fun, with a controlled and reasonable budget, where generally they lose but they win enough that the losses stay relatively small and it's a price they pay for the thrill of this type of entertainment. The last type are the problem - those who chase losses, thinking that future bets are in some way tied to previous losses (had so many losses this next one must win) and put in way more money than they can afford (damn, I just wasted the rent). It's generally the last one that need to hold of gambling forever and find something else that is less likely to ruin their wealth and health.
