Hi everyone,

I'm looking for the latest Bitcoin-Only firmware version for Cobo Vault to support the bluewallet wallet but I can't find it anywhere. I already sent an email to support and they only tell me that the Cobo Vault is already discontinued.

If anyone has the latest version I would really appreciate it!

Cobo hardware wallet does not function anymore and it's not supported by Cobo company, but developers who worked on this device created new wallet called Keystone and they have bitcoin only firmware.
If you still have Cobo device you can try to refund from old company (if it is stil availabel) or buy new Keystone device with 50% discount (if you have proof that you purchased Cobo before).
Note that once you update Keystone firmware to Bitcoin-only, you won't be able to revert back to multi-coin version.
You can find more information on this page, and ask them for help:

Ouch... Cobo Vault wasn't that old was it?

Launched in Nov 2018 apparently... so less than 3 years and they "killed it", by rebranding to another company and basically releasing the same thing, but incompatible??!? Undecided

What a clusterfuck.

For more information about the old firmware and options for a new unit take a look here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5359720.0

As for the good / bad it's not like the old unit won't work, and they are giving a discount on the new hardware, so it's not totally terrible.
And it's still better then the Nano X battery issue.

Dave already linked the topic by the new Keystone CEO; but as a TLDR, Cobo did kill the Vault. However, they didn't afterwards rebrand and re-release it, instead the Vault team (or just Lixin? not sure..) bought all the rights to the Vault and continues the product of course under a new company.

Lixin even wanted to upgrade existing users to the latest firmware, but Cobo declined it:
We have made a migration firmware to upgrade Cobo Vault to Keystone firmware but Cobo refused to sign that firmware.
They are doing this because they want to convert those Cobo Vault users to Cobo Wallet.
Cobo Wallet is now the only Cobo product and a purely software-based wallet.

What a clusterfuck.

As do I, with a but....

I can see the legal / liability people not wanting the signing key for something that controls access to peoples money ever being outside the control of the company.
Even if the new old people don't do anything evil, if they just make a mistake and the key leaks for whatever reason it's going to be a finger pointing nightmare.
