Bitcoin will not be stopped just because they say it consumes a lot of energy and mining will continue as normal. There is another solution to this problem other than trying to ban mining because electricity consumption. They all want to advance with technology and one thing they don’t keep in mind that everything needs to be connected to a source.

Take as an example the electric cars, they need a lot of electricity to be used on a daily basis plus the batteries they contain are more toxic for the environment than regular vehicles that run on petrol or diesel. Those have increased the consumption and pollution by “running green” more than it was before. There is a difference in the city but the places creating that energy are polluting more than usual.

The Blockchain and Bitcoin have a different meaning for this society than everything else. It has provided security over these years and internet has become different ever since.

Miners will use as much energy as required until new solutions are put in place. Let’s not forget what happened in 2008 and what Bitcoin has done for the society for so many years.  As is the first cryptocurrency launched with success people can’t say it does bad for the environment when it’s exactly the opposite.  This technology has brought a lot of benefits and now that is valued at over 1 trillion there is someone looking to stop it. That’s not the case, Bitcoin is here to stay.

Bitcoin will not be stopped just because they say it consumes a lot of energy and mining will continue as normal.

Who is "they"?

There is another solution to this problem other than trying to ban mining because electricity consumption.
What problem?

They all want to advance with technology and one thing they don’t keep in mind that everything needs to be connected to a source.
And again I ask, who is "they"?

Take as an example the electric cars, they need a lot of electricity to be used on a daily basis plus the batteries they contain are more toxic for the environment than regular vehicles that run on petrol or diesel. Those have increased the consumption and pollution by “running green” more than it was before. There is a difference in the city but the places creating that energy are polluting more than usual.
Well now, that's a load of nonsense.

Do electric cars need electricity to run? Sure.  That's what makes them "electric" cars.
Do electric cars need A LOT of electricity?  Maybe, maybe not, that depends on how we define "a lot".  They certainly use less than 1.5 petawatt-hours.
Are the batteries toxic for the environment? Not while they are in the car.
Are the batteries more toxic for the environment than burning petroleum products in a "regular vehicle" for the entire life a the vehicle?  Absolutely not.
Have electric vehicles "increased the consumption" of petroleum products and increased "pollution" more than the vehicles that were used before? No, that's simple nonsense.
Are "the places creating that energy" increasing pollution more than the petroleum vehicle that's being replaced? No, just no.  Go read a book.  Learn something.  You're sounding ridiculous.

The Blockchain and Bitcoin have a different meaning for this society than everything else.
That's a meaningless sentence.  Doesn't EVERYTHING have a different meaning for this society than everything else?
For example, I'm pretty sure my peanut-butter and jelly sandwich that I ate for lunch today has a different meaning for society than the commercial jet that flew from New York to Los Angeles, didn't it?

It has provided security over these years
What type of security?  Did it reduce the number of people being killed?  Did it reduce the number of people that are getting scammed? Did it reduce the quantity of ransom demands?

and internet has become different ever since.
A lot has changed with the internet in the past 12 years. Very little of that change has anything to do with Bitcoin.

Miners will use as much energy as required until new solutions are put in place.
Another meaningless statement.
Everyone will always use as much energy as they require to accomplish the things they want to accomplish until they decide to accomplish something else.
I'll use as much energy as required to get out of bed each day until I stop getting out of bed each day.

Let’s not forget what happened in 2008
Cyprus and Malta accepted the Euro?
Iran launched a rocket into space?
Kosovo declared independence from Serbia?
The brightest event in the Universe ever recorded happened?
An earthquake in China killed nearly 100,000 people?
Manchester United won their third European Cup?
India and the U.S. signed the Civil Nuclear Deal?
11 people die on K2?
The summer Olympics?
SpaceX launched their first ever orbital rocket?
Barack Obama became the first ever African-American President?

and what Bitcoin has done for the society for so many years.
Has "society" really changed much in the past 12 years? If it has, was any significant change due to the existence of Bitcoin?

As is the first cryptocurrency launched with success people can’t say it does bad for the environment when it’s exactly the opposite.
People can, and will, say lots of things.  Bitcoin has an effect on the environment. Everything that humans do has an effect on the environment.  Whether that effect is "bad" or "good" depends on things such as perspective, values, morals, judgement, and opinion.

This technology has brought a lot of benefits
Benefits to the environment?
Benefits to society?
Benefits to you?
Benefits to me?
Any examples?

and now that is valued at over 1 trillion there is someone looking to stop it.
People have been "looking to stop it" since it was launched.  People will continue to "look to stop it" for as long as it exists. That's just the nature of the human condition.

That’s not the case, Bitcoin is here to stay.
Forever?  Forever is a very long time.  Are you sure about that?  Nothing else will ever come along to replace it so long as humans continue to exist?

Actually... we're all Satoshi Nakamoto. Smiley Except you-know-who Smiley
But yeah, OP is.. just another Satoshi wannabe.

Excuse me, did you try to say something, ask something, or just advertise yourself as Satoshi? I'm asking because you didn't say anything new, you just re-composed (quite badly) the conclusions of some other discussions.

Correct mining is very energy dependent.

Think of the amount of energy it takes to produce the machinery to do the job,
the energy to transport that machinery to the mining location and the energy
to maintain those machines.

Now think of the energy cost of ripping the earth apart in search of those precious
metals and resources we are after, then the energy used in processing those resources
and transporting them all over the globe.

Electricity is being used by every industry, we are still producing electricity by burning
fossil fuels, Bitcoin is using some of that electricity but so are all the GREEN EV's.

The Bitcoin and Energy Consumption debate/Whipping fest will continue to rumble on
because there will always be people against it and people who will use it as a distraction
from bigger issues (as above)

I sometimes wonder how are these people incentivized on writing this giant nonsensical bullshit. Do they really expect receiving private messages from people who are convinced (or just wondering) if they're indeed Satoshi? I want to believe that there isn't even one from this community.

Correct mining is very energy dependent.
Excuse me from asking, but from the above screed, the only thing you kept was mining and how energy dependent it is? This guy talked about electric cars, that the block chain has provided security (?), things that happened in 2008 (?), bitcoin's affection to society and closed by stating they're Satoshi Nakamoto and you only kept mining?

It has provided security over these years
What type of security?  Did it reduce the number of people being killed?  Did it reduce the number of people that are getting scammed? Did it reduce the quantity of ransom demands?

It seems OP was just mutilating some ideas and rejoining them at his wish. But I want to see from his end in terms of security.
I believe OP means  Financial Security .
The Financial security in this context shouldn't be having enough money as not to worry again, rather being in control of your finances.
If we toe this lane, we can all agree that Bitcoin has given us total control over our money, by a way of making us self-banks and given us some level of privacy.
So with bitcoin there is a Financial security.

Correct, my post was about the cost of those electric cars and the extraction of resources
to make them, including the batteries.

Affection to society - not in all cases. as posted Bitcoin will be continue to be highlighted
for its energy footprint so what is happening in some instances is the opposite to what
the OP is stating.

We know the benefits of Bitcoin and Blockchain but many are still slow to adapt.

Satoshi Nakamoto - no comment needed.

The (competition) will never tell you that they are wasting a lot more energy than Bitcoin mining. They will never tell you how "dirty" their payment option is, when it comes down to the small details. (Metal for coins need to be mined and then refined and only then can those coins be minted.)

Fiat currencies need to be transported... (fuel) ..it needs to be kept safe in vaults with 24/7/365 days of CCTV that are using a lot of electricity. The ATM's use electricity .... the card machines are using electricity... etc... etc.

This discussion should compare apples with apples.. and not apples with strawberries.  Roll Eyes

It seems OP was just mutilating some ideas and rejoining them at his wish. But I want to see from his end in terms of security.
I believe OP means  Financial Security .
But, they didn't say it. I know they probably wanted to mean financial security, but throwing a “security” within this nonsense will only annoy the reader.

If we toe this lane, we can all agree that Bitcoin has given us total control over our money, by a way of making us self-banks and given us some level of privacy.
Total control over our money? Hmm, debatable. It does have given me the chance to transact by myself and not using a third party, but I still pay my taxes with a currency whose policy I disagree. I still live in a society where there's no bitcoin nor an anarchic willing for improving the current monetary system.

The only thing bitcoin has given to me is a rise in my wealth and a decent level of privacy. In order for me to live with it, there're much more things to be tackled.

Correct, my post was about the cost of those electric cars and the extraction of resources
to make them, including the batteries.
Satoshi Nakamoto - no comment needed.
No comment needed, but responding them seriously shows that you're just passing this somewhat important statement which reveals the legitimacy of the discussion.

Yea, very much annoying, I just believe there is room for an improvement.

Bitcoin I believe is in it's evolving stage, but has too numerous enemies. Despite the number of oppressions she has, she still finds a way to favour those who believe in her.
Though the journey might seems far and impossible, but I have learnt to be calm, Bitcoin must surely prove many wrong. I patiently wait for that faithful moment

That's just how it looks like if you only read the media. Check out the top holders and you'll find many from those country who 'banned' Bitcoin are holding a lot of it. I think they believe in the potential but they won't publicly encourage users to use and pump it until they can control it, just like any other things.
