Friends, I would like to know what is the fastest blockchain at the moment. I heard about the Tectum blockchain but there is very little information about them. Please kindly share your opinion.
Thanks.

Why do you want to know which is the fastest blockchain? For me, the most important thing is which one is the most secure, and that is the Bitcoin blockchain.

There are plenty of altcoins claiming to have fast and very fast block times. You can ask in altcoin discussion. Just keep in mind that: * some of those may not have actual blockchain at all * some of those may not be decentralized at all * the exchanges usually just ask for a much higher number of confirmations for such transactions, hence you don't save any time * it's not advised to accept those coins without a "healthy" number of confirmations

Op, move this thread to the altcoin discussion, please. The question itself is honestly probably not as simple as it sounds. If we're talking about a shitcoin which is barely used, transactions will likely be very fast and cheap because there aren't many of them happening. But it doesn't mean that this blockchain would handle the load that Bitcoin or Ethereum have better than them. Then there are centralization concerns mentioned above. And indeed there are coins based on other technologies. For example, IOTA is based on DAG, which is allegedly much better than Blockchain because it does not have the scalability issue, but it was up until recently very centralized, and I'm not sure people are willing to give it a go anymore, even though I believe it could truly be a good solution for global adoption.

It depends on who you ask, right? There are many blockchains that are fast, and much faster than Ethereum. These include Solana, Avalanche, BSC, and Velas. I'm only mentioning the ones I tried and had because I had good experience with them I don't see why others shouldn't use them. Tectum blockchain? lmo didn't even hear of it either way why go out of your way to try new and unproven, untested ones? Stick with the ones that are already safe and have been used for some time.

Fastest blockchain to handle transactions? I guess I would go with XRP as based on my experience it's the fastest, your transaction will be confirmed in a second and the transaction fee is also cheap. Tectum blockchain is probably new in the market because it's not listed yet in https://coinmarketcap.com/.

Actually, there's a lot claiming it, to be the fastest blockchain in the industry and Tectum is just one of them, But during the Tectum presentation in UAE way back in 2018, Tectum claim that they reached 1million TPS speed that's quite fast if that is true the tectum blockchain is the fastest, but until now the Tectum project has not yet launched so I think the project was already shelved. but in today's reality, I believe the fastest Blockchain is the Stellar lumens Blockchain.

Speed is meaningless without decentralization, there's no difference between centralized blockchain and centralized database, and centralized databases are faster than and more efficient than any of the "fast" blockchains.
You can find a lot of coins that seem to have faster confirmations than Bitcoin, but none of them is even close to being as decentralized as Bitcoin.

It's wrong question. The correct question should be what is the safest blockchain to use. My answer is Bitcoin blockchain. Fastest does not mean safest. Blockchain with fastest block time is not best blockchain because of its confirmation speed. You can verify it with the estimation for cost of 51% attack and the estimated blocks from altcoins to give same security as of 6 confirmations on Bitcoin network. https://howmanyconfs.com/https://www.crypto51.app/

You will need to specify to help people understand what mean when you say the fastest blockchain. There are various ways of ranking and rating blockchain networks. These include: which blockchain network is faster in terms of transaction speed, which is faster in terms of mass adaption, which is faster in terms of increasing marketcap and volume, which is faster in terms of trading volumes per day, week, or year. So you need to be specific with your question.

I don't really know why you need the fastest blockchain. I use Poygon, Binance Smart chain and Tron. Actually, speed of transactions in these chains is fast enough so it doesn't take more than 10-30 seconds to finish transactions. But actually, speed is not the main feature I think. Security and transaction fees are more important than speed.

This is the first time I heard of the Tectum blockchain. This only means that it is not just about the speed. There are a number of altcoin projects that boasted of their fast blockchains. They are very proud that their TPS is much much higher than Bitcoin's and other more popular crypto projects. But the thing is that they remain unpopular and have achieved little to no success. So I should conclude that speed is really secondary. Scalability, especially Bitcoin's, was once an issue and many projects exploited this and created faster blockchains. They ended up failing to replace or even equal Bitcoin.

The fastest blockchain at this time is BSC because I have experienced this myself in the last year where BSC works very well and is also very fast in terms of transactions, so if you are asking for a fast Blockchain, then the choice is BSC.

So in your opinion there is no safer network than bitcoin? even though there are currently a lot of blockchain networks that offer a high level of security. Can you explain why bitcoin is the safest?

Just take a look at the hashrate and compare it with others, you'll see that doing any attack will be very costly. Some PoS network has a few validators and there might be other exploits that is not directly related to the network to attack it, e.g. social engineering and so on.

Beware of those who's branding their blockchain as fastest as these are not probably secured at all. Security is much greater than having faster blockchain. Not all can have a high level of security. But, Solana is one of the fastest Blockchain who's proving himself too and even also have lower fees added by security. Its better to invest in here than those at bottom Marketcap coins.

I guess you should be looking for Blockchain that does not slow with growing number of users, and a Blockchain has to achieve this without compromising on important principles like decentralization otherwise anyone could centralize a Blockchain to make it really fast which I typically consider as scam

Never heard about the Tectum blockchain. I have seen so many blockchains that are said to be the fastest, but none of them are really that popular. Just like one that is called Aleph Zero, it has a TPS of over 40,000 and the structure allows it confirm transactions in about 0.6 seconds. But, it’s not the fastness that matters here. We have seen that of Bitcoin, Ethereum and a lot of them that are popular today and with a high usage rate, they have a low TPS: Bitcoin has 7 TPS, Ethereum is 25 TPS, and Cardano that has become very popular today has 250 TPS. And like I have said, it is not the fastness of these blockchains that matters, it is the security of the blockchain. Most of them that are fast as not as secure as bitcoin. And Bitcoin is said to be the most secure, so do you think anyone would choose fastness over security? Personally, I don’t think so.

Fastest? A lot of them claims to be the fastest. But would you use a "fast" blockchain, or a blockchain that is secure? I am sure you will be willing to use a chain that is actually secure. After all the information about your coins are stored in the chain. And most of the "fast" and "scalable" chains are mostly centralized. You don't want to be own a large amount of those coins because the risk of the chain getting tampered is high. Instead of looking for the fastest blockchain, stick with the ones that are currently well known. A little slow, but worth waiting.
