Even if he would provide out some proofs then it wouldnt really be still that enough for people or investors to trust him even just you are asking for 100 bucks then it would really be still a guarantee for you to find someone who would make out some deposit.

I think it will be hard to find an investor if you don't provide an information about the project you have made. This is the same as invest to the things that you don't know. It is a bit risky right? Not knowing what yoi are going to invest. Threatening someone with negative trust is not not absurd, it is just a precaution as it might not be a good investment/scam in other words (not saying that op is a scammer, it's just a possibility which means he may scam or not). I'm sure you are aware that some casinos starts a fundraising to fund the project.
