Buying a coin after it has pumped is a big no, the only exception to this is bitcoin, as we know that the reason that is going up in value has to do mostly with its strong fundamentals, there is some speculation as well but the fundamentals most of the time are the key, however when it comes to altcoins this is not true, so I am afraid to say you sold too early and missed your chance, however you still doubled your money, so you are doing better than most traders out there by obtaining those profits, now concentrate on what you want to do from now on, do you still want to invest in new coins? In my opinion, you are making one very important mistake. Before you invest, you should not only check the market and the validity of the project, but also set a goal for the investment.

For the next coin that you buy, maybe if seeing you can gain profit more than your capital and then expect to get more, maybe you can sell to get your capital back in case to buy other coins and then hold the rest. In that position means you are fixed that not lose your capital. I do not think that we can know which project will become big in the future as there are needs more seriousness from the team. PYR is one example of a project that can prove that the project is worth enough to hold from the first. You are right. PYR is performing very well and its price is now 41$. The best way to know that project is potentially growth oriented, the idea should be innovative, the team should be professional and committed. The timing of launching project is also important because trends keep on changing in crypto space. Yesterday was for DeFi and today is gaming. If you hold tokens of good project for long term then certainly you make good gains but we all run out of patience and sell them when we see the price is falling and we forget its intrinsic value.

One more thing that persistence of the team for keep improving and doing the marketing of the project is one of the biggest factor a project could enter big exchanges. Sometimes when the project face the bear market and the price of the tokens dropped by more than 50% there are some projects who losing hope and they ran away slowly.
So i think the team of the project should never lose hope for the project if they are really sure the project is gonna make it in the future

This is true. No matter how good a project is, if there is no demand from a good and even huge community, it will be useless and never worth of investing. You will only know that this project has big potentials to have a bright future when there is a real use case on part of its supporters that will fit for it for a long term investment. I hope there is an application or if we can see it in the crystal ball but unfortunately, there is no such thing. That seems our biggest challenge now. But there is something that could help us to know if that projects are worthy and bigger chance to grow in the future and that is if listed on the top exchanges. We know that they could help to uplift their market demand and increase the price at the same time.
