i started mining with 3080 LHR card using nicehash, with NBMiner (ETH) i get around 67-69 mhs,

mem: 1300
pwr lmt: 68%
-200 core

my understanding NBminer has partial LHR unlock of 72%, so am i getting decent results ?...

mem and power limit is high, I have 2 3080 and one work at 59 and the other works with 56, memory is a bit high too for 24/7, I would advise maximum 1000 - 1100 however as long as memory temperature junction is lower than 80c then is all right. About the hashrate, it seems all right.

thanks for ur reply,

the reason i set the power limit high is because nicehash seems to prefer mining CFX (octopus) on this LHR card, and that needs 80% power limit from what i have read !...
when i reduce power limit to 60s~ the hashrate will drop significantly !...

my settings:
http://grabilla.com/0bb1e-ad720e19-5534-4ffc-9bf2-1edd14383b63.png

i have few questions confusing me at this point...

- Memory temp junction your referring to the temps right ? (am at 84c constant on this card even with ETH its in 80s)...
- what is the safe temps for 24x7 mining ?

thanks,

Yes, pretty safe, is not lower than 80c but is within that orange line, memory temp less than 80c is green line, orange line is 80 to 95c, red line is from 95c to 110c, danger zone is beyond 110c. One 3080 I have uses 205w for eth at 98mhs, the other uses 224w 98mhs, both at 1100 memory and core clock around 1150mhz. Anyway I dont mine with them, just tests I have done in the past, I use them for something else.

thanks a bunch

i have another thread for my 3080s

sadly i cant get less than 98-100c and am at just 768 memory Sad

i even seperated the card in the rig for maximum airflow, the card just cant get any cooler, its winter now but it will get cooler soon !

am literally wearing a jacket in my apartment but that 3080 is  at 98-100c, am i ok for 24x7 or what am i supposed to do now ?!?...

You need this, https://www.amazon.com/Gelid-Solutions-GP-Ultimate-90x50x0-5mm-TP-GP04/dp/B0824ZN5BB?th=1 and then find a thread about your gpu on know how to do it and which one you will need it, some need 1.5mm, some need 2.0 mm and in some cases you will also need 3.0 mm. That will improve your memory temperature a lot.

Sorry can I ask this,

Is this because my card is not using thermal pads ? It’s the gigabyte 3080 MASTER, or because they r using crappy ones ??…

crappy ones, if you plan to keep this gpu for a long time then replace the thermal pads, if not then no need, sell it as soon this bullrun ends, after the crash, sell it fast.

It is believed that the manufacturer does this on purpose so that the miners disassemble the video card and void the warranty.
Now the choice of video cards is not large, but miners have several options: change thermal paste and thermal pads or use closed cases for more powerful cooling of video cards.

yes, usa consumers are protected though, most around the world no, I mean to put 2w thermal pads in a 1000 usd gpu is disgusting, minimum should be the best, for them to put a good one would cost at most $5.

I was able to source locally only thermal right pads supposedly a high quality selling at 20$ each
They r rated at 12-13 wMk
Thermalright Thermal Pad 12.8 W/mK, 85x45x1.5mm, Non Conductive Heat Resistance, Extreme Odyssey Silicone Thermal Pads for PC Laptop Heatsink/GPU/CPU/LED Cooler (1.5mm) https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B08CGVZ4YG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_BRTNZVVKWN0XAGVYVM0N?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Yes, although I'm not sure if your gpus uses 1.5mm, you need to check threads specifically about the gpu you have to see if the size is right.

Are there other warranty agreements in the US that allow users to break warranty seals?
I took apart American laptops, and I can say for sure that their cooling system is much better than the cooling system of similar laptops in Russia.
I have video cards that I bought from Amazon, but they are cold. Although their fans broke down after 3 years, their Russian counterparts worked longer.

As far as I know there is, check this, https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/mcswd0/swapping_the_thermal_pads_will_be_covered_under/

I'm not sure if all things with the same issue apply.

When the warranty seals are not opened, then the warranty works faster, because there is no need to do an examination.
If the warranty seals are damaged and there are traces of disassembly of the equipment, then the service center needs to find the cause of the breakdown. I don't think that companies in the US are willing to lose money.

That is while in the US right because where I live if the see the seal is broken then shops just say to f888 yourself hehe, well you can always send back in this case to evga and I'm pretty sure they will cover it in the sense they see the damage was not caused by the change of thermal pads but we all know if they want to deny the warranty then forget. However manufactures like asus, gigabyte and many others will likely not cover it. EVGA is usa based so their customer service is the best possible.

In Russia, there was a similar situation with gigabyte video cards. For video cards with 3 coolers, 1 cooler often broke and the manufacturer returned the money to the buyer.
In 2019, a lot of miners began to return their video cards, which they bought in 2017. After that, the gigabyte in Russia started having problems, and they changed the warranty policy. I returned several video cards, and then they began to lubricate the faulty cooler with grease.
And if the employees of the service center found traces of opening the seals, then they refused to receive warranty repairs.
