Nasdaq-Listed Online Retailer Confirms It Will Accept Shiba Inu ($SHIB) Payments

Newegg Commerce, a Nasdaq-listed major online retailer, has confirmed it will soon accept payments in the meme-inspired cryptocurrency Shiba Inu ($SHIB). When exactly SHIB will be accepted is not yet clear.

In a post on the microblogging platform Twitter, Newegg revealed Shiba Inu as a payment option was “coming soon.” The tweet came shortly after it tagged Shiba Inu’s official account and its project leader asking for a direct message to ask them a question.

Shiba Inu has notably seen its price surge  this year over a retail trading frenzy that allowed one investor who bet $8,000 in the cryptocurrency to at one point have $5.7 billion in its wallet.

Shiba Inu’s adoption has kept on growing despite a recent drop in cryptoasset prices. A report from cryptocurrency security firm CertiK revealed there are now 1.05 million Ethereum addresses with SHIB in their balance as the cryptocurrency consistently kept adding between 30,000 and 40,000 new users on a daily basis.

Newegg’s embrace of SHIB comes after it revealed in late April it was going to accept payments in Shiba Inu’s rival meme coin Dogecoin ($DOGE), which is now usable on the company’s website to buy consumer electronics, entertainment, smart home, and gaming products.

Notably, Newegg was one of the first major retailers to start accepting cryptocurrency payments. Back in 2014, the company started accepting Bitcoin ($BTC) for payments and has since expanded its offering to include $LTC, $BCH, $ETH, $USDC, $PAX, $BUSD, $USDT, $WBTC,  and $DAI.

From the very beginning of SHIB's appearance in a big market like Binance, I've been convinced of the coin's ability to compete in the market. Also the completeness of the SHIB blockchain is very good, it deserves to be considered worth more than similar utility coins.
It is evident from the article above, large companies are starting to look at the sophistication of the SHIB blockchain as their tool to make it easier for their customers to make payments.
Maybe there will be more companies will follow Newegg's footsteps in the future, we'll see.

This coins was made as a fellow memecoins after dogecoin and had no use case at first.
But when it's already going famous and the marketcap is one of the top marketcap, so many of company adopt it as their payment method because it will hook customer.
So i think SHIBA is no longer just a meme coins because it's already well known to many people around the world and the future of shiba is quite good i think for next 2-3 years.

Initially it got developed as a meme coin which has its core as a dogecoin killer. With the Elon Musk entry the memecoin gained popularity and the growth took a much faster phase from worthless token to a valuable asset providing very big return to investors. Same time more and more leading Exchanges started to list Shiba. At some point the trading volume of Shiba went high above bitcoin.

More good news in terms of development have been happening around with Shiba adoption and the team formed as Shiba army helps in keeping the momentum of the market. Now Newegg making its interest on Shiba acceptance is really good for all the Shiba community.

Shiba though from unknown developers and arguable initial launch, they have gained buzz and hype from the start. They have been ups, down, unexpected turn of events and they are still going good. The largest boost surely was from the tweet of Elon Musk. But the best thing is the team didn't abandoned the project even if they were dumped low. They also were successful in launching a simple but working defi and if they keep on working on it, it could stablish itself as a popular coin.

Could this become a sign if shiba will become a winner in a battle against doge coin? Never heard doge coin being accepted by retailers or am i not update with the latest news? It seems like shiba was more active to developing its token rather than doge coin. Oh yeah doge coin was a passive meme coin with no utility usecase but shiba was removing such image as a competitor for the doge coin.
this gonna be a huge thing for sure. Imagine when big companies will be consider shiba to be added into their assets. lol

that's something that can't be imagined.  Can i call this as the evolution for the meme token? this can be done only by shiba inu and doge but not yet for doge coin. People are so crazy pumping shiba inu right now.

I don't have Shib and in fact what I got in my wallet is actually another fake one with the same name but having a different contract address - so sad! Hopefully, there will be more retailers and business establishments that will be opening their business for Shiba Inu most especially in 2022.

Surprising how SHIB can really be used when it's just a memecoin that we knew. But right now every platform had been creating so many memecoin upon seeing the success of Doge and Shib. If it's really going to be accepted by newegg then it's also not surprising that we see some memecoins going to be moving up.

My guess is because these memecoins are what regular people can only own. I personally knew someone who I never thought would actually buy crypto, I received a message from a single mom I knew who turned her $100 to $1400 thru SHIB.

It feels like Shiba inu is more than what we think it is. We were told that Shiba inu was a meme coin and has no real use value, but now it seems like Shiba inu is now serving as a means of payment. There must be more to this Shiba than what meets the eyes, but in everything, it's best to get some Shiba inu, irrespective of what everyone else is saying. Shiba inu could be your key to financial freedom.

Am kinda surprise shiba is getting this much attention especially from a world class company like Nasdaq, if this is true, this is huge for shiba holders and can most likely trigger another price run on this project, it seems shiba is gradually becoming a strong utility token.
