Coinbene customers face difficulties withdrawing their funds

Starting today December 1st, the Chinese brokerage firm has finally permanently closed all access on the Brazilian platform which has caused many disputes between customers who were completely unable to withdraw their cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin. Even though all customers have been given a grace period to immediately withdraw all their balances, there are some people who are still experiencing difficulties due to login access that is not functioning properly, and must fill out a form first, which can take a long time to get approved.

From the narrative of the article I read, customers who want to withdraw all their balances are required to fill out a form by providing all data including name, residential address, facial selfie and other documents requested according to the layered KYC procedure. So that the last withdrawal time is finally late and at the same time the system undergoes global server maintenance.

There are 2 complaints that I highlight based on the article:

• A client in São Paulo has sent all his complaints even to international Brokerage lines.
  "I followed the guidelines, sent the necessary documents and selfies to be able to withdraw on 30/11, but as reported more than once to you (10/30, 11/06, 11/09), no matter how authenticator, pin and email code, I can't transfer and my question is not answered”
• Another user from Barueri (SP) claims that he has lost around $10,000 due to the lack of response from Coinbane so far.
  “I have sent more than 50 requests and they have not been answered. My loss is on the order of $10,080.00”.

I knew CoinBene was shady the moment the late John McAfee was promoting it on Twitter like every single day.



2017-2018 was definitely a different time. I kinda miss his ridiculous antics weirdly enough.

I remember posting about their planned closure about 3 weeks ago. It doesn't come as a surprise that people are now facing difficulties with withdrawals.

It's also completely unfair given the short time frame users were given to withdraw their funds.

This is the snippet of the announcement

Withdrawal closing: CoinBene users are requested to complete asset withdrawal before November 15, 2021. After the platform is closed, users who have not completed asset withdrawal can contact the platform through the customer service email before November 31, 2021, and apply for asset withdrawal after completing identity verification. After November 31, 2021, the platform will complete the cancellation and liquidation. At that time, there will be no customer service personnel to accept the withdrawal request initiated by the user. The user needs to bear the asset loss caused by not withdrawing in time.

Less than One month is short, but since the platforms are originally for trading, the person must visit them even once a month, and therefore he must know that he must withdraw.

The confusing thing is why do they complicate the withdrawal? In other words, why didn't they make the option as Binance done, which is to cancel all open trading pairs and freeze all trading or use the platform and keep the "withdrawal only" option

In general, I hope that people will be able to withdraw their deposits and not trust platforms to save money.

They know that they are going to lose the customers so they wanted to take their money legally by doing shady things which is late approval,etc. Maybe someone who lost huge amount can take this legally and prove the guilty on coinbene side but it takes few years and lot of money from your pocket.

Maybe a lesson for life, if you lose a very little portion of your portfolio from this.
