I don't know the reason why my topic is Locked by administrator? did someone report a topic I created as a violation? did I make mistake? is discussing merit prohibited? Hmmm

I guess asking people what they feel when they get merit is either has been asked multiple times before or the mods deemed the thread/topic too low of quality for it to be left open. it's not the first time a thread has been locked by a mod for being low quality.

making mistakes is one of the things that makes you progress. I say move on and take it as a lesson.

I'd say because it's redundant/vague. If it was just for low quality I think it would have been deleted, or maybe that was the case and it was locked because there were some interesting replies even though the thread was low quality. Anyway:

Yes, OP, think that in this forum they care enough about the quality of what is written, and there are many threads/posts, which in other forums would be acceptable but in this one are deleted/locked. I think the best thing as acroman08 says is to learn and move on.

Because the first question doesn't make that much sense, and the second question was pretty much low-key indirectly asking for merits.

Don't take it personal, look at the bright side your thread only got locked not deleted.

If you want to create a new thread make sure your topic is new and never discussed before, 100% it will not be locked by moderator. Take a look with your topic, you can googled Bitcointalk my first merit you'll see many thread about it.

See this is regular discussion forum and have all the dedicated boards setup where you can discuss technical,bitcoin,altcoin, economic, political topics without any worries keeping in mind the post is not violating any rules and you must be familiar with them.

Sometimes the thread is reported and moderators delete that post or even the whole thread because it doesn't serve any purpose and only spam posting was done.There are so many merit related topics created already and you were not having any valid point on that so it got deleted.

Ok so now tell me how do you get rewards in a company where you are working? The simple answer is progress and doing the best work so the same is the case with merit system on forum like you write up a quality post that have useful information in that and helping out others it deemed to be of high quality you will get rewards in form of merits from whosoever like that post.Make your way up yourself rather than getting lost on forum.Just explore it and give some time.

No moderate is drunk that time that's why instead of locking wallet he lock your topic?
You can lock unlock any topic anytime why are you getting crazy over it.

If you against the rules, your topic will not be locked, you will only be banned in most cases like plagiarism and spamming, you topic would have also be removed instead of it to be locked. The only reason a topic is locked is still because of only one reason, it is because all post people have made there is enough and no need of more replies, this is common to a questions that have been posted often and often and also post that moderator do not want to delete but existing already as it has been posted by some people before.

One think I was focusing on is the message given. It stated that it was locked by an Administrator, and not by a Moderator. I wonder if that is so, or whether the message states "Administrator" regardless of whether the thread was actually locked by an Administrator or a Moderator (I presume that the latter can lock them too).

You can if you lock it yourself, but not if it’s locked by an Admin/Mod.

the reason is best known to adminstrator, but repeatable question is seems as low values comment partially.

maybe, because their is every tendency that someone dislike the post and he or her have to report to moderators of the section to peruse into it, but remember and note, that not all posts that reported to moderator can be locked, moderators take their time to look into a post if it's meaningful or not.

The answer is no, i think acroman08 has answered that question perfectly.

But to avoid locking of your thread or deleting of post, it can be redeemed by increasing your posting quality, i have not seen anything bad or negative by picking correction, for your thread to be Locked, i think you need to change the measure of post making, just research before you could create a thread to avoid blockage of thread.

Just do the quoting. Click quote and reply.


Just try to do it in one post. Don't start a new post by quoting and answering every one. Otherwise, you will create unnecessary work for the moderators, who will subsequently have to combine your answers on their own. There is a rule for this. Please learn more about them.

I am the one who replied in that thread first, even I had a thought of reporting it for low quality but again I want to answer your question so I did it and also lot other members gave you enough of the reply so moderated decided to lock it because you got the answer what you want so there is no more unnecessary discussion is going on.

The fact that it was locked means that the discussions in it are no longer required. You got the answers you need, and it was not the first time you talked about merit when one looks through your post history.

The topic was also in a sense an indirect attempt to beg from merit just like your other reply
Gaining merit shouldn't be your sole purpose here.

• Sounds like begging merit

However, you're still lucky because your thread ain't get deleted, it means there was a meaningful comment there that should be enough to answer your question.  Instead of barking about on merit just prove to yourself first that you've deserved to have even single merit, not that way.

If you get the answer you want, say thank you and lock the thread. This is the best way to keep thread clean of repetitive discussion. Your locked thread is a beginner question that has probably been answered hundreds of times by many users and now such thread seem pointless. It's currently hard to create a thread that hasn't been discussed in this forum, maybe we really should look it up before the idea gets published.
