You have reported 107 posts with 85% accuracy.

Eh, I don't get it. Sometimes I report a thread, it gets deleted or moved by a mod and my percentage goes down for the report.

Two possibilities:

1.

This isn't directed at you, just a general PSA, when reporting miscategorized posts don't just say wrong forum as the reason if you can help it, because if it gets moved, but the report is still pending (which can happen), its a crap shoot whether it will be marked as bad or not.

I report in a "Should be in "Insert subforum here" ". Is that fine or do I have to do it in another way? Also, at OP, if you really hate altcoins, just keep reporting them if they get out of the designated subforums.

It's fine because if one us visits the reported topic and sees it's in the right section (maybe moved by OP, maybe by another mod), we can mark the report as "Handled", otherwise we might mark it as a "Bad report" if the report comment says "wrong section" or something like that, and it was already moved to the right section (we may think the reporter erroneously reported the post).

Holliday, looking at past reports (only from the last two weeks) I can see you typing in "wrong forum" in the report comments so maybe that was why you saw your percentage going down? Though it must have happened two or more weeks ago because looking at the five reports from the last two weeks, all were marked as correct. Dogie, your reports look OK, but again I can only check two weeks back.

or

2.
Your percentage might go down due to other report(s) that were being taken care of at the same time and that turned out to be inaccurate.

I got one today that might've been this. Can someone check, please?

Indeed. All reported posts where I seemed to lose % for a correct report have been older than two weeks. Sometimes, when I'm not feeling as lazy, I report "wrong forum" and then post in the thread asking the OP to move his own thread. A few times the OP has moved his own thread, then I'll simply delete my post. Perhaps that is what happened. I tend to simply report "wrong forum" a lot.

I can switch to suggesting the proper forum, but sometimes the post is so off that I honestly don't know where it belongs!

Thank you for the reply!

Haha same. I usually suggest the correct forum in the report but had a couple like that today that completely flummoxed me.

I can switch to suggesting the proper forum, but sometimes the post is so off that I honestly don't know where it belongs!

In that case I think you could post "does not belong in xyz" where <xyz> is the name of the board where it shouldn't be, and it should be OK.

Bonus points if you can find out where it fits better Wink

well I don't think I've ever reported anything and kind of glad if people are having the rep or whatever go down after the fact.  I honestly don't even know what this rep system or points system is but it sounds somewhat defected if you ask me.

Don't discount those bonus points either, because you're far more likely to be promoted to a moderator position if you can show that you know what the solution to a report is rather than just which posts violate the guidelines.

The nice part about becoming a moderator is that you no longer have to report anything -- you just fix it yourself!

It's just a percentage of what you have reported accurately or not. The trouble is for most people what is and isn't reportable isn't that clear.

Thanks for this. Was also considering if I'd posted a thread while blackout drunk. Apparently I dressed up as a ckolivas and did it.

It puts the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again?
