Let’s play a game using the Spanish and English languages. I’ll keep it mostly simple as most people, including myself, don’t have extensive experience being bilingual. The main objective to the game is to write out what the previous poster says in the opposite language without using a translation tool or book. So I say in English “What time is it?” and the next poster would give the answer “Que hora es” and then also give a phrase in Spanish for the next poster to translate. The next poster will translate the Spanish phrase to English and then give an English phrase for the next poster to translate to Spanish. Then the cycle continues with Spanish to English and English to Spanish.
Example of the game:
Poster #1: Hey, what’s up
Poster #2: ¿Què pasa? New phrase: Me gusta me perro
Poster #3: I like my dog New phrase: The school is very big
Poster #4: La escuela es muy grande New phrase: Mi abuelo es no feo, el es muy guapo y alto
Poster #5: My grandfather is not ugly, he is tall and handsome New phrase: I am from the United States
The goal of the game is to not use a translation tool unless you absolutely have to...
I’ll start with the first phrase: What is your name?
