That was really an unexpected knock out, as I am watching I can clearly see the clean punch that hit Woodley. After all Woodley is a MMA fighter and not boxing professional unlike Jake Paul but still that was a great match.

I'm lucky that I didn't place bet on Woodley nor Jake Paul and skip this match and just watch it. I wonder which match is next? I'm looking for a Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul match.

Well I guess he's now paying the price by fighting someone after he got cut from the UFC. I think he himself knows his limits and this obviously is the result of his body limits.
This is for sure one of the worst career ending after being a champion in the UFC and took a beating from someone who  is not a professional boxer not only once but twice lol.

Against other ''celebs'' where either you will go deeper in that hole or they will only be his punching bags and he will prove nothing? In MMA? What will that prove?
At the end of the day it depends, there are fighters that care a lot about their legacy and they will never risk it just for some additional dollars in their bank accounts.

But there are some others that genuinely do not care and just want to earn some money, and I think it should be obvious by now that Woodley cares more about the money than about any legacy that he may have, and personally I think it is a valid choice, after all if he really needs the money then why not take it in a fight in which he is risking nothing?

At the end of the day it depends, there are fighters that care a lot about their legacy and they will never risk it just for some additional dollars in their bank accounts.
Every fighter gets into the sport as a profession to earn money and there are a selected few of fighters who will have the financial stability to last forever, the rest will find a way to make money or find another source of income and the scope of earning is limited for any athelte, so basically there is no point in complaining they do not look for legacy and want to do anything for money.

Well, I can't really be too hard on Jake Paul from now on, I'll probably have to lean on the side of giving him the benefit of the doubt. He obviously has the power to knock out professional fighters, which not everyone possesses. I'd like to see him against a outright boxer, but what he did last night was nothing short of impressive. I'll give him kudos where its deserved despite not being his fan. Haven't got too much to say about Tyrone personally, this stuff happens from time to time, and I'm not prepared to make excuses on his behalf either.

Jake did what he needed to do on a short notice fight.

I think fighters now are very practical, they forget about Legacy already, instead they focus on the money. Some may still continue to fight despite proven already that they can achieve their goal. Look at Manny Pacquiao, he is already a legend and yet he still continues fighting even if he knows at his age he cannot bring his power to defeat a young and stronger fighter, so he ends up retiring after a loss instead of retiring after he won against Thurman.

One fighter I know who care about legacy is Manuel Marquez because he was offered a lot of money to fight Pacquiao but he refused it because he already have a wonderful win against Pacquiao and he doesn't want to erase that by a possible loss in another fight with him.

Really, a lot of the time legacy is associated with the fighters ego, and I'm not sure its something that should be commended. I'm not bothered what the reason people enter the fighting sports scene for, since they're providing entertainment. In fact, there's a counter argument to be made that fighting whoever, and whenever could potentially be ever more credible. There's also the argument that they just love fighting sports, and therefore want to get as many as possible. I'm not a fan of the mentality of protecting a legacy if it means the fans don't get the best fights, because at the end of the day we want to see the biggest, and best fights the sport has to offer.

Yeah, Jake Paul isn't really at that status yet, but he could potentially get there if he keeps making these statements. We'll be able to gauge it better once he has fought a boxer in their prime, which you could argue he has already tried to do with Tommy Fury, but that wasn't meant to be this time around. I know one thing, Tommy Fury if the fight is made again will be much more wary of Jake Paul going into the fight after this knockout, and I think that might actually benefit him in hindsight.

That was one hell of a knockout highlight.  Looks like Woodley was gassed pretty bad at that point.  This is why you don't take a fight at the last minute...

Now it's all about who is next...  Masvidal got called out but seems to only want to MMA, which I was surprised to see a great fighter basically cower from a challenge in the ring.  That says something about what Paul is doing and that he's getting respect from real fighters now.

Le'Veon Bell wanting to be the next to fight Paul seems intriguing to me.  Supposedly Bell is a great fighter and a hell of an athlete.  I'd like to see that fight.  I'd rather see him fight a real boxer at this point though, or at least a non-retired fighter of some kind.

Totally agree even though I am not a fan of the Paul brothers, that punch was pretty solid. Normally you're advice of not taking last minute fights is right but the money for this match is just too big for someone and them not taking them. At the end of the day, Woodley still made a lot of money in this fight.

Woodley just accepted to fight because he really wanted the rematch even before the last-minute offer and so it happens. A shot like that can really knock out a guy with a strong jaw.

Masvidal or Le'Veon may also have no chance against Jake. It takes a lot of time to attain skill and get used to lifting a hand as heavy as a boxer's glove. They'd embarrass themselves if they challenge.

That's it. The show is done. The man I was cheering on was knocked out cold. Of course, it was not expected for Woodley to give a good performance knowing that he has not really prepared hard for this. He was just there to fill the vacancy. But as an old fighter, although not really a boxer, there was a certain amount of expectation from him. But that's it. Both of them gave a boring fight. But the end was quite explosive because of that one punch that was thrown and landed at the right time and spot.

I'd still like to see the Tommy fight, even though I think Jake probably does a number on him. Though, at least then we would be able to gauge his ability against a fighter to is still very much currently partipating in primarily a boxing aspect, rather than mixed martial art, and retired fighters.

Masvidal would be sweet, though Jake probably wins that from a boxing point of view. Though, Masvidal being from a street fighting background might be able to fair better than previous MMA fighters against Jake, although I'm not sure I'm prepared to see the circus it would create if Jake Paul managed to knock out Masvidal.

It's such a waste of fighting abilities if Masvidal would stoop down so low and engage Jake in a boxing match. If Masvidal has a plan to become a clown fighting against Jake Paul, he better set his terms and demand that the fight be in MMA. Otherwise, he should just tell Jake to call out real boxers and not MMA fighters and other athletes in different sports like Le'Veon Bell.

Since Jake is getting a little deeper into the sport, he better be man enough to face the real fighters in boxing.

i did not even watch from round 2 because of Boring fight , I expect more intensive exchange of Bouts than what they did.

this is the reason why I don't like watching replaced boxer since the original one is what i have been watching from the beginning .

Anyway congrats to the winner and He deserves the win.

At the end of the day, Woodley still made a lot of money in this fight.
Yeah that's probably the main motive for accepting this fight. For sure he still wanted to get his revenge but bills are priorities.

How about just bare-knuckle under street rules? First fight in the ring just like a regular boxing match while the rematch will be a brawl. I think that's an acceptable offer that Masvidal couldn't refuse Grin I just don't know if Paul would accept.

Tyron Woodley is very quick to accept the challenge as a replacement for Tommy Fury on a very short notice. Jake Paul is not much of a fighter and this is another easy money for him. Woodley is not taking care of any professional record or whatever here. He will climb the ring for money. If the win comes, that is better. If it does not come, that is a little bit expected and he has the excuse for it. But whatever happens, he will go home with an easy paycheck.
Surely that's the situation of Tyron Woodley here, even though he's an experienced MMA fighter, getting into the ring doesn't make you hard to defeat because the stamina of the boxers is much more bigger than those MMA warriors itself. It's just like the situation of McGregor and Mayweather, we can really see that in the first 5 rounds, McGregor is quite having a hard time to catch his breath. Surely, it's the paycheck what they sought after all, even if it's a win or lose, they're still granted to being paid after every match.

He won't go far facing real pro boxers tbh. Even gold medalists who trained since kid often didn't go well in pro fighting, let alone for someone who started too late.
Jake's strategy works well so far with him fighting tough guys but not real pro boxers, so I think it would be best for him to keep doing what his best, to entertain people with this kind of match Grin Jake isn't that strong, but he is intelligent. He picks fights with people that he thinks he can beat.

Yeah that's probably the main motive for accepting this fight. For sure he still wanted to get his revenge but bills are priorities.

Most Boxers now are practical type in which they will fight for Name and Fame but of course main objective is for Money  Grin and this is How Woodley looks at this.

Such a fall from grace...  Even Woodley’s mom is having a laugh at his loss while celebrating Jake Paul’s win.  Hilarious.  I mean he was the UFC’s champion at 170 who beat Robby Lawler, Darren Till, Stephen Thompson and Demian Maia.  All big names during their day.  Now he’s reduced himself to be a youtuber’s b*tch.  Sad.

One thing is for sure that he has no regrets in this fight because he has been Paid worth it.

maybe this will be His main intention to try his luck , and besides it is a win win for Him . win or lose he will get the amount that does not being offered in Octagon .

Looked like an all in punch was lucky to land just right and end the fight, helps him justify his whole involvement despite not even beating an actual boxer just somebody trying to learn the sport which is fair enough because thats about Jake Paul himself.    I dont know why the Fury fight didnt go ahead but dont see the problem with finding an alternative at the right price its a job at the end of the day.   I dont see MMA fighter losing a boxer match is a massive failure for his prospects, though Paul was ahead on points imo it was a lucky punch; Woodley is playing with one hand behind his back in terms of his range of skills.
Jake Paul and his big mouth is really irritating though, can someone shut him up I hope so.
