None of them show a clean hit that dazed any of them in the first fight but the decision I think was fair. But you're right that if they intend to make more money out of this, they may really let Woodley win this time to have a 3rd fight.

That's what I was thinking.  Woodley has an alibi if he loses and he gets the paycheck he's been asking for.  A win-win for him.  On the other side of the ring, Jake really had no other choice and is grateful I'm sure to still be able to collect a payday after setting up so much for the event.  The additional $500K bonus if Woodley knocks him out seems like the icing on the cake to make people know that Woodley has an incentive to try and win.  I'm not sure how many people care to watch this rematch though.  I know I don't.  If someone gets knocked out I'll happily watch the clip but we've already seen this spectacle.

Now I know this may have been forced by the "doctors", but whatever details the story has of Tommy pulling out, it remains a fact that he PULLED out, and that's not going to leave. I don't think he can knock Jake Paul out with only ten days notice, you cannot condition yourself in your peak performance in just ten days but then again I'd love to see Jake Paul getting beaten and busted and even get knocked out, Tommy Fury could be the guy for that but because of the medical condition, it will not happen anymore, hopefully, Tyron Woodley can deliver what we all want to see.

The fight of Jake Paul and Woodley has been a surprise that most of us didn't really anticipate to happen. Paul was supposed to fight with Fury, but unfortunately, Fury acquired bacterial chest infection and has damage ribs which caused him to back out from their fight during this month. Paul kept on saying that Fury's team is just faking it and he isn't really ill. Jake Paul claimed that Fury is just scared of losing from him, hence, decided to issue a make up excuse to justify his withdrawal from the fight.

Honestly though, I think Fury is telling the truth because why would he be afraid of an amateur boxer, right? There's no reason to back out most especially he has been looking forward to their fight even before. It's just that unfortunate events happen sometimes. And this time, he chose to prioritize his health rather than sacrificing his well-being for clout and money. Jake Paul having a sudden fight with Woodley though is a blessing in disguise for Paul's side because he can still fight this year, meaning all his efforts to train for the supposedly awaited match isn't put into waste.

I commend Woodley for accepting such real quick offer to fight. Given that there's only a few days for their match which would take place on December 18. This just shows that Woodley is training and is confident to fight even if the notice is given shortly before the actual match. Hopefully, they would give us a nice rematch. I wouldn't be critical of this too much, this happens in boxing frequently even with bigger names. Anthony Joshua, Fury all had to go through journeymen before getting to where they are, and they likely cherry picked names along the way, in fact I'd say it was in the boxing promoters interest to keep the hype train of Anthony Joshua going as long as possible, since there was clearly holes in his boxing, but wasn't exploited until recently.

The day Joshua lost the fight against Ruiz, and seemly lost his confidence is the day boxing took a big hit to their wallets. Yeah, he's still a big name, but he definitely isn't bringing in the same type of money he once was.

In their last bout, Woodley was a winner on 1 one of the judges and he just needs to double his recent performance in order to grab at least another judge that will favor him. Age is nothing. I know that boxing is different, but as Woodley is from UFC, I will give examples from UFC. Randy Couture became a champion in heavyweight division at the age of 43. Recently Glover Teixera became a champ at the age of 42. There are lots of fighters who are at the age of 40+ and still perform well.

There's a valid reason that's why no need to be disappointed. If Tommy will continue the fight just to avoid giving disappointment to those who are expecting already, the result might be more chaos aside from a normal loss. I doubt there will be a third. Jake will just move on to a bigger and better opponent. I think the Fury fight needs to happen now. Every fighter gets into the sport as a profession to earn money and there are a selected few of fighters who will have the financial stability to last forever, the rest will find a way to make money or find another source of income and the scope of earning is limited for any athelte, so basically there is no point in complaining they do not look for legacy and want to do anything for money.

I think fighters now are very practical, they forget about Legacy already, instead they focus on the money. Some may still continue to fight despite proven already that they can achieve their goal. Look at Manny Pacquiao, he is already a legend and yet he still continues fighting even if he knows at his age he cannot bring his power to defeat a young and stronger fighter, so he ends up retiring after a loss instead of retiring after he won against Thurman.

One fighter I know who care about legacy is Manuel Marquez because he was offered a lot of money to fight Pacquiao but he refused it because he already have a wonderful win against Pacquiao and he doesn't want to erase that by a possible loss in another fight with him.

Really, a lot of the time legacy is associated with the fighters ego, and I'm not sure its something that should be commended. I'm not bothered what the reason people enter the fighting sports scene for, since they're providing entertainment. There's also the argument that they just love fighting sports, and therefore want to get as many as possible. Yeah, Jake Paul isn't really at that status yet, but he could potentially get there if he keeps making these statements. We'll be able to gauge it better once he has fought a boxer in their prime, which you could argue he has already tried to do with Tommy Fury, but that wasn't meant to be this time around. I know one thing, Tommy Fury if the fight is made again will be much more wary of Jake Paul going into the fight after this knockout, and I think that might actually benefit him in hindsight.

Totally agree even though I am not a fan of the Paul brothers, that punch was pretty solid. Normally you're advice of not taking last minute fights is right but the money for this match is just too big for someone and them not taking them. Woodley just accepted to fight because he really wanted the rematch even before the last-minute offer and so it happens. A shot like that can really knock out a guy with a strong jaw.

It's such a waste of fighting abilities if Masvidal would stoop down so low and engage Jake in a boxing match. In boxing you notice it more, because it seems that your record means a lot more, and a lot of boxers have a zero on their record, while in MMA that's rare. So, he isn't really doing anything different to professional boxers, except he's particularly good at flirting with the line of impressive while remaining some what safe. Woodley is a good puncher, and at times a good fighter. However, he freezes a lot, and that was in his prime. You can see the effect of lack of training, and age has had on him, despite still possessing decent enough ability.

Yeah, I also see that in Jake Paul, he's quite kind of a wise guy who only faces and accepts sure win fights and only talks below the belt if he can defeat he speaks about. I wouldn't feel too sorry for him. He probably got the biggest payday of his career and the Rolex was a nice early Christmas gift. I'm really hoping this fight gets made. I wouldn't back either of them because I think it's a fairly well-rounded fight but the pressure will be on Tommy. I'm wondering if he might even dodge the fight now after that knock out. The stakes are huge for both of them. If Jake wins then people really will be talking and the bigger names will come calling. If Tommy loses that will follow him around for the rest of his career. It might even end it. It's a logical step for Jake as it gets him the credo of fighting an active pro boxer without trying to fight someone who will either take his head off or shamefully out box him.

I'm not sure about that. Masvidal is pretty tough. If I was Jake I'd leave him alone and take someone less risky like Fury before trying to snare someone like Mayweather or McGregor. I think McGregor will be itching to take a fight like this especially if he keeps losing in the UFC.
