Uniswap transfer and then immediate with draw from my wallet

Can anyone help with this? I did a swap on uni swap and then there was an almost immediate withdraw from my eth wallet. I use metamask and went to send part of the funds from meta to my coinbase acct, it said all the funds were there as everything was fine in the whole process of setting up the send. I sent the funds from my meta to my coinbase and the transaction failed I then checked my acct and all the funds were gone. The etherscan shows a transaction that I never did but does not show the failed transaction. Is my eth acct compromised? What plugins/addons do you have installed in your browser (except metamask).

There are three main reasons I can think of:
1. You have something that hijacks ethereum addresses copied and pasted to the clipboard and replaces them witb their own.
2. An attacker has some sort of Keylogger and the encrypted data the metamask addon stores about you to be able to send a transaction from your account only after you've sent one/put a password in.
3. You have something that changes the inputs to metamask after they've been input (though i'm not sure this is possible).

I have a couple of addons installed but the transaction I sent to coinbase failed and wasn't the full amount. Seems weird that it let me do the metamask transaction and but the money was gone before I would of even sent or tried the coinbase transfer so why would it still show a balance? and wouldn't it of taken the money I was using for the uniswap transaction first?

Based on the transactions, you sent ether from your coinbase to your wallet, I guess that was for fee for your swap.
But approx 3 minutes there's an outgoing transaction made, it was a swap of 80,000 LIFE to ether. Then after a minute an outgoing transaction was made again to send the remaining ether.

If these outgoing transaction and swap is not your activity, unfortunately, your funds are good as lost. Very likely that your metamask account, recovery seed, was compromised

Yeah I sent the funds from my coinbase and did the transfer of the life tokens, but not the one after the uni/life token sale. Figured I got screwed out of 400. Fucking sucks bc I needed it. O well I guess, I guess that means the remaining life are useless too

Still wondering why the hacker still left 19k life to the wallet. If you think that those remaining tokens/funds on your wallet are still important, I suggest you to transfer it to your new setup wallet to avoid bigger problems in the future.

Just be careful next time. Based on the evidence above its clearly you have been hacked since it was not your activity. Always check installed files on your browser probably some already gain pass your password or seed phrase thru such malicious links that you had installed. Better to change wallet already and make a new one cause you never know they will keep in touch with that wallet you are using.

Where did you install metamask from? It could be a fake metamask wallet as there are plenty of those going around. Perhaps i'll create a warning thread as this is becoming increasingly common when new people join crypto and don't realise the dangers of installing wallets outside the official sources

A few good things to do is to bookmark any legitimate link that is related to cryptocurrencies and try to use an ad blocker since sometimes phishing site comes from ads.

We can't say for sure what error you have made, what kind of hacking you have experienced. As many people above say about the possibilities that have happened to you, I think you should do more than that. You should thoroughly clean your device (or at least your browser apps), also consider creating new all your addresses instead of wanting to use the old ones.

When it comes on downloading then always have that review or tend to verify or search up
not only twice or thrice. https://metamask.io/ this is the only legit place where you could download on.

There's nothing we can do if hacking incident happen due to our carelessness.We do often learn when we do experience these kind of unfortunate events.

Its not really that necessary to experience before you do learn because you could really able to learn on others experiences as well.
All matters on how you do apply it into yourself.

At this point, it really is challenging to know what happened, and where things went wrong with your transactions. But one thing is for sure, cleaning is really necessary. Maybe while doing that OP will also be able to notice any mishaps or any clue related to what happened. Nothing is for sure, but there’s no harm in trying, in attempt to find solutions here. It is too bad that sometimes we go through bad experiences for us to learn the lessons.

Moving your tokens to an exchange may increase the risk because you may still be affected by some viruses such as malware highjacks (copy and paste a virus,) need to pass KYC/AML and after all your money may be frozen, in short, your coins/tokens will not be worse than keeping them in banks.


You have to create a new wallet in a clean device and then send all the currencies to it and make sure to delete the data on your old device so that you do not have problems in the future.

Are you sure that it is the problem, because if it was the problem, all the transactions would blown to scammer, but it seems that you connect your MetaMask wallet to scam site and thus hacker was able to access to your wallet and send your coins.
