Someone asked me this question and I need to give them an answer for it, but I'm unable to find any explanation on the internet about what it is.

I specifically need to know whether this is some company that makes casino games (usually slots) or is just another name for the gambling industry in general.

I think iGaming is a company  that is into online media (magazine) that is all about playing bet and games, iGaming also promotes games too.

It is just another name of the gambling industry. Igaming stands for Internet Gambling which requires money to play games in return of monetary benefits.
There are also some companies which has the term igaming in it such as igaming next, igaming business etc... but in this perspective I think igaming is just being referred to online gambling.

It's basically anything that has a relation with gambling and online from what I gathered. I tried looking for companies under the name and found iGaming and to quote:

igaming.com seems irrelevant, looks like an internet marketing company only.  PRobably wants to portray they can game the search engines and rank clients' sites.

The term iGaming doesn't sound very new and not related to blockchain. Before 2010, there are already lots of terms with the letter i before the word when iPhone was first introduced and then there's also eGaming.  All the links given above are related to games but sure gambling is part of it.

It's that, you are right... I heard it from some oldtimers who are gambling online before crypto! Someone brought it up in telegram conversation, and of course, after that came an explanation, iGaming refers to all forms of online gambling and betting! To be honest, I didn't hear about that term before that, and this is the second time...

It's not a provider, at least I never heard of iGaming provider! We had a chat in BTCGosu groups, I am not sure did Efialtis gave us an explanation or it was tyKiwanuka... tried to find that conversation in telegram, but without success...

So, from the two sources above and other searches about the word (iGaming), I conclude that the word can be interpreted as a gambling platform, indeed the words iGaming are rarely used in gambling, but it is quite well known in the designation for gamblers.

I think there are a lot of articles that discuss iGaming on the internet. I found an article about iGaming but I am not sure if that is what you search for.

What iGaming means?
iGaming is any activity that involves betting online, for example betting on a live event or a game outcome. In the modern day, this timeless activity is carried out through sports betting, online casino gambling and other skill-based games like poker or blackjack.

Maybe is like Internet Gaming which playing games online. You can see the other result from Google from that keyword so you can explain to your friends about iGaming.

I am honestly not very knowledgeable regarding the iGaming, but upon researching about it, keywords after the word iGaming such as business, provider, and many other have appeared. So, it can be assumed that these aforementioned actually exists. But one thing is common among these is that it is directly related to betting or gambling. Whether iGaming is a platform, business or a provider, all are under and associated with the gambling industry. That’s what I have found, hope I made sense and provided some kind of assistance. Please correct me if I am wrong, thank you.

there is a company by that name that is focused on gambling games but that is also a denomination to refer to any casino games that exist on the internet. From roulette, poker, blackjack or bingo. If you see such a game running under the online world then it is iGaming.

In short... it's nothing new. But it's your answer.
