(2025 Update) What have we become here at Bitcointalk? //...boring long posts..

In the almost 4 years which have passed, has the forum made any real progress fixing the painfully obvious issues? My original post didn't mention "virtually forcing" paid sigs to make long posts (100++ characters) **Doesn't really help** Instead, it creates endless blocks of boring text which is made longer to simply get to enough characters.

I don’t like it no. I am literally 99.99999% bitcoin in my portfolio. I think lots of noobs are interested in bounties & alts because they are probably too poor to buy 1 bitcoin & would rather own millions of shitcoins like SHIB or something. Retail investors probably need to get rugged in alts to see that bitcoin & maybe leading alts like ETH are the only coins worth bothering with.

I don't think this is the reason. Maybe in some cases, but I don't think most people is that idiot to not understand that more coins doesn't mean better. IMO, newbies (and not so newbies) look for a coin that can go suddenly x100 or x1000, which is hard, but still possible, for a shitcoin. For Bitcoin, at this stage and magnitude, I don't think it is even possible anymore, so it doesn't fit in the get rich fast scheme many are looking for.

Please, don't misunderstand my words: BTC is still the king, and I hope that it will keep the crown in the coming centuries, but I don't think that anyone expects to get rich overnight by hodling just a few sats.

bitcointalk is an amazing place, if you want to make money then you can try your luck by following the campaign but if you just want to seek knowledge then you just have to visit the thread you want to go to!

this post aged like shit as eth has turned into pos and staggers along.

but the title caught my eye.

I was not doing a signature in 2021 I was happy mining and making coin that way.

I still did not believe in coins in 2021 like I do now but a lot of water has travelled under the bridge.

Honestly, yes, and I do all the time. Not to register accounts, necessarily, but to view historical topics, of which there are hundreds that are interesting.

Aside from Bitcoin (obviously), many blockchain "firsts" happened here on this very forum.

As for your other points about most new posts being boring, you're absolutely right! I cannot argue against that. However, there's still some interesting stuff going on in a few areas of the forum, with genuine conversation, and I appreciate the camaraderie I've developed with several people here over the years.

Yeah I agree with you. Although there are spams all over the forum, there are still some quality posts out there but sometimes they are burried deep in spam. Most old posts are very interesting and intriguing I basically spend more time reading very old posts than posting and you not only learn a lot from them you also get to understand the forum better.

Sometimes people have different posting styles some explain in detail (though some spam) and some just drop bullet points like vapourminer and disappear...
