It is possible, that Satoshi is/are reading all these bitcointalk contributions ... and although some pepole want him/her/them to come back, nothing happened.

Improvement of Bitcoin source code is one of good reasons, I agree.

However, it does not mean satoshi has to appear in public in order to contribute to Bitcoin source code. satoshi can make such contribution in a shadow and it's thanks to a real decentralization of Bitcoin, isn't it?

satoshi decided to leave our community but he did realize that there are different ways to contribute to Bitcoin.

Sum up, no good reasons to appear again in public.

Satoshi is of course a very brilliant mind and as such, if they return to the bitcoin space (anonymously of course), they can offer a whole lot to the network as bitcoin improvement proposals and other contributions. I however think such an occurrence would take a whole lot away from the actual product and all attention would once again be about who is satoshi.

There would also be a level of centralization to how the network operates if Satoshi returns, I would say it is perfect the way it is right now.

Besides Satoshi coming back simply to contribute to the Bitcoin Core software, then I can't really think of anything else. The downsides simply heavily outweighs the upsides especially concerning his/her/their personal security/privacy.

And if Satoshi would come back to contribute, he/she/they should definitely do it under a different pseudonym. (assuming Satoshi isn't actually actively contributing today under a different name.)

One of the main reasons why I would love to see Satoshi return would have to do with Smart Contracts.  One of my favorite (if not my favorite) Satoshi posts is the Escrow thread where he talks about being able to use code to create a no-3rd party escrow system.  I know he was referring to Smart contracts ( I even sent the post to Nick Szabo who confirmed he believes the same).  If he came back he could create this 2 way escrow system which I think would be ground breaking in finance and in the computer science area.

There is no need for Satoshi to come back and he probably can't return because he is not alive anymore,
but one good thing would happen with his comeback and that is the fact that Faketoshi Craig Wright would finally shut up once and for all with all his nonsense.
Now when I think about it better, Faketoshi would probably start a new lawsuit against Satoshi this time, trying to prove he is not the one...

No, there is no good reason to come back if you mean come on the public. It doesn't really necessary to come on the public to contribute to his own kingdom. Even he can prove that all claimed Satoshi Nakamoto are fake just by signing a message from his Bitcoin address. We don't know if he is still alive, if he is alive then definitely he is reading forum threads and current discussions about him. But he is one of the most brilliant person in the world who creates Bitcoin for us. He knows better what he should do. But if he comes on public then Bitcoin likely will be semi-decentralized like others altcoin.

I don't see any good reason for Satoshi to come back. The bitcoin source code can be updated by anyone which then needs to score 95% confidence from the miners to get updated to the source code. So Satoshi can do it even after staying anonymous. But yes, if Satoshi comes back and then make the changes then it will be easier to win miner's confidence.

I would say, Satoshi must stay anonymous for the rest of his life! I strongly feel that these lawsuit of Craig Wright is a staged incident by FBI to lure Satoshi out. Because obviously Craig doesn't have access to Satoshi's stash of bitcoins.

Agree, this was much more than I expected and silenced the mouths that wanted to show off as if he was the real one. Until then, the confession will never be acknowledged. If Satoshi needed to come back, he would only have to say a word or two and all I wanted to hear from him the most was to say "I'm fine".

I don't expect Mr. Satoshi to come back for whatever reason and no one can determine that either.  It can be staged to create fakes and Fud that seriously affects bitcoin.  In part, I think Satoshi's anonymity is the strength of bitcoin although I also hope to see him back as a token of gratitude that he still exists.  But it seems that was calculated in his mind when building automated mechanisms for bitcoin, even increasing hashrate and halving.

I don't think that matters when there are other temptations and dangers that can be created for bitcoin. Lol, no need to care about CSW because bitcoiner will know what's right and he's obviously a ridiculous person. 1. Satoshi proactively anonymized from the very beginning of all his things. 2. bitcoin is becoming perfect and that gives it the power as an "invulnerable" achievement. Therefore, I do not expect any appearance of the real Satoshi. I have no idea with this interesting reason. Bitcoin should be the most special to the rest.

Just want him to come back so that I can see the face behind the hi-tech development like blockchain. I mean just imagine he talking all about his experience while he was working on it through his lifetime. It’s biggest achievement that he has made and I barely doubt that anyone would create something like this one more time. Moreover, I wanna really see someone who had been undercover for so many years and suddenly they appear in front of the whole world seeing how he created trillion dollar industry in a decade.

This would be so much astounding moment for everyone of us.

I think, he must come in front of the world to change the destiny one more time.

I'm not sure if I would call this a "good" reason for Satoshi to come back, but it would surely be a really hilarious that would immediately make CSW a huge laughing stock(oh wait, he already is).

^With that said, I'm pretty certain that it isn't worth risking opsec for something(the CSW fiasco) we know is really silly in the first place.

If Satoshi comes back today and wants to make some real changes, he may not be able to do or Bitcoin will be a central currency influenced by the decisions of the main developer.
The part that will affect Bitcoin is the number of coins owned by Satoshi, which some estimates indicate that it is about a million coins and therefore may affect the price significantly, since those coins may be sold at some point instead of being lost forever, and therefore major corrections must occur for the price.

In short, the return of Satoshi will negatively affect the currency in one way or another. He can also contribute to the development of the code without revealing his identity.

One could argue Faketoshi is already disproven and humiliated.  Some people just haven't figured it out yet. 

And it wouldn't surprise me at all if some of the die-hard Faketoshi cultists still supported their false messiah even if the real satoshi did return to sign some messages or whatever.  Like flat-earthers and other conspiracy theorist wingnuts, there's just no way to convince them that they're wrong.  You could provide mountains of evidence and they'll still happily believe in fairytales.

Frankly, I’d say that the best possible outcome for bitcoin is to stay put, and besides deauthorizing others as already mentioned, which ideally would still be done in a provable yet anonymous manner, I can’t really see the need or benefit currently.

There's no way CSW can prove himself Satoshi unless he is not (which is not indeed). Only satoshi can prove that he is the real satoshi. Would anyone believe if satoshi come back and say he is satoshi. No, we would certainly need him to sign PGP key.

I believe Satoshi left for a reason and for whatever reason that is, am quite sure he's doing well......
He could be here with us though anonymously of course but if there's a reason I'll want him back then it can only be for CSW's sake.
